A day in the life
One of the great pleasures of my job is to get out several times a month and meet people in the industry. As we move into meeting season, I urge you all to take every opportunity to attend your association meetings, mill weeks, outings, open houses, trade show events, etc. These are the ties that bind this great industry we work in. I can say for myself, in addition to meeting great people, I learn a tremendous amount. The effort and cost that go into putting these events together beg your support.
I had an interesting time this month. I went to San Francisco for the Western Building Show-and probably
should have stayed in bed under the covers for two days. In the first hour of the show, I fell from the third step of a prospective advertiser's booth. I performed an unimpressive swan dive worth no more than a 4.8, and landed prostrate on the floor, looking up at a startled marketing manager. Now while I was thinking advertising space, he was thinking lawsuit. Unbowed, bloody legs and all, I carried on, at least trying to give the impression of professionalism.
Later that day, I got off the hotel shuttlebus and proceeded into the lobby searching for my wallet. Quickly realizing I had left it on the shuttle, I raced out to see the bus sitting at the next light. With my camera on one shoulder and my camera bag on the other, I began chasing after the bus. Within 30 yards the light changed and off it went. I did my film stuntman routine running through and against the traffic lights in Union Square, jumping over and around cars, as my bus slowed for the next light. When I approached within 20 yards, off it went again. Two lights later, and a half a mile from where I started, one overweight publisher, minus 5 lbs. of sweat, banged on the door of the bus. The driver, noting my crazed panting, assumed I was a wino or pan handler, and began to drive off, until a passenger asked him to stop and open the door for me. My wallet was under the seat where I left it.
Next morning, my passion for food overcame me, and I went down to Fisherman's Wharf. On the way back, I stopped to order a crepe from a street vendor. Back at the parking lot, I couldn't find my parking ticket. I finally located it-lying in the street, three blocks back at the crepe stand.
On the other hand, I have to say that the Mill Week I attended in the Umpqua Valley the following week just reminded me how lucky I am to do what I do. As part of the entertainment, the event included a wonderful trip on jet boats down the Rogue River through the most beautiful scenery imaginable. Picture 5O-seat jet boats doing wheelies, at full speed, in the middle of the river. I have never heard so much laughter, although any one ofus could have won a wet T-shirt competition.
I hope you all block out at least a few days vacation over the summer, and enjoy what seems to be the first good consistent bout of weather of the year in most of the country. Business seems good-let it continue. Get out and meet your industry friends. Have a great summer.
ASK FOR lT STRA|GHT, AND BUTLD YOUR PROF|TS.
You'll save time and money when you build with a higher level of lumber that gives you more straight pieces in your stack. Which is why you should spec Canfor SPF lumber. Because when trees grow in the cold north, the growth rings are tighter, which tends to result in straighter logs. And when you're striving to make straighter lumber, it helps to start with straighter [ogs.

Making it in the moulding industry
'aTRENDS in the wood mouldI ing industry were recently discussed by Wood Moulding & Millwork Producers Association president Matt Allen, Mt. Taylor Millwork, Milan, N.M., and WMMPA executive vice president Kellie Schroeder.

Schroeder: What do you believe is the most difficult situation facing your business today?
Allen: I think that our inability to find qualified help is a big issue. Our business is located in what I believe has become the poorest state in the Union. Furthermore, it is located in one of the three poorest counties within that state. And yet, we fight maintaining employees. We find many people who want a job, but few who want to work.
The other big concern I have pertains to our current trade deficit. Our government continues to lower the interest rates in the hope that continued housing growth will stimulate the economy. On a long-term basis I do not think it will work. They are relying on the housing industry to carry our economy.
Frankly, there is little doubt that the economy will be helped, but only on a small level. New housing will create jobs in the construction industry and no doubt there are a few more clerks at Home Depot or Lowe's. But, the reality of the situation is that the products being sold to manufacture these homes are coming from overseas. If those products were being manufactured here at home, many jobs would be created and supported. However, when the products are being imported with no governmental attempt at balanced trade, the economies being stimulated are located in the countries from whence these products come. Thus, our low interest rates are supporting foreign economies, not our own.
I feel that the United States of America is changing. We have gone from a proud nation of manufacturers to a nation of consumers. At one point we were the manufacturing superpower of the world. But, I believe we are becoming simply a nation of consumers, eagerly absorbing products brought to us by our overseas competition who are enjoying an economic edge due to their lower wage base and other advantages.
We need balanced trade. If foreign economies beat us in manufacturing because their quality is better, so be
it. But, if they are allowed to beat us based solely upon cheap prices due to their economic advantage and our government allows this, we have a problem.
Schroeder: What do you foresee as the biggest change taking place in the moulding and millwork business in the next l0 years?
Allen: I think that the largest change will be a continuation of our current situation. More and more material will continue to be imported from overseas. There will be fewer and fewer successful U.S. manufacturers of these products. Foreign competitors will sell their products more cheaply than U.S. manufacturers resulting in an artificial ceiling on the market. This ceiling will keep U.S. manufacturers from selling at profitable levels all while their cost of doing business will increase with standard inflation. I do not foresee eood thines for our industry.
Schroeder: Matt, your father, your brother and now you have all served as WMMPA president. Can you explain Mt. Taylor Millwork's membership longevity with WMMPA?
Allen: I think that over the years we have all been able to recognize that the opportunity to socialize with our peers, to exchange information and to rally around our industry is extremely important. Mt. Taylor Millwork, Inc. became a member of the WMMPA in 1968. Since that time, at least to the best of my knowledge, the WMMPA has had only one meeting at which there was no representative from our company. Moreover, for those people hesitant to join an industry association, I think they need to recognize that they have a responsibility not only to themselves to be involved in activities that further their business, but also to the industry itself. Now, let's turn this conversation around for the next few minutes and have you answer a few questions. What are the key elements manufacturers seek when applying for membership in WMMPA?
Schroeder: Connectivity to the industry, marketing, resource base/educational programs, cost-saving benefits, and validation of their product in the marketplace.
Allen: What is one of the first benefits realized after joining WMMPA?
Schroeder: Marketing of the company and their available (Please turn to page 40)

One compah,y's take on certification

Al goi$e, forest certification means more than having 1007o of its 2.4 million acres certified agafnst the SFI Standard. The company has documentation to prove that independent auditors find their forest practices meet or exceed itrict SFI objectives.
However, Boise also receives thirdparty recognition thrqugh awards, input from others on tways to constantly improve their foierii, management, 4nd collaborative efforts with others to enhance wildlife habitat.
In the past few months, several Boise employees (forest engineer Eric Bieker, chief foreste{ Ken Cummings and wildlife brqlq, grsts Brian Kemohan and Tim Burnet0,,,t€ceived third-party recognition for helping Boise in their sustainable management of forest resources.
In 1999, Boise created therForest
Stewardship Advisory Council, an independent panel of nationally known forestry experts who "thirtk outside the box" to continually advise Boise on ..$lay'6 to improve forest management. Tl're souncil participates in forest audits, teviews results and recommends changes. Jack lffard Thomas, former chief of the U.S. Forest Service, said, "My service on the council, observing audits, and working with managers to seek 'a better way' has convinced me that Boise is dedicated to the production of wood produQts in a sustainable and environmentally $ensitive manner."
Working in,collaboration with conservation organizations and state agencies is common at Boise. For instgnce, prescribed burns are conducted on Boise's Louisiana timberlands in conjunction with t}te National Wild Turkey
Federation to improve the Turkey habitat. In ldaho, Boise's staff provided The Nature Conservancy with a database and cohputer mapping system so they can effoctively analyze 2,000 acres for the protection of open space and wildlife habitat. In Minnesota. Boise formed a partnership with Bat Conservation International to evaluate the use of different bat roosting structures. The information will guide the selection of an effective roost box design for use in areas deficient ofthis habitat feature.
"SFI certification is a great way to make our customers, employees and the public aware that we're excellent forestland managers," said stewardship coordinator Brad Holt. "But that only scratches the surface of what Boise does to continually improve its forest stewardship program.

VillaCrest@ doors are designed to give the illusion of an expensive hardwood panel stile and rail door. Made of Low Density Fiberboard, these doors carry a high degree of structural integrity, For added strengtb, solid wood blocks are inserted, hinge-side, to provide for durable - and very critical - seats for the hinge screws,
RM Series doors have the weight and feel of a solid wood door with elegant raised moulding that creates an expensive custom look.

Fire Hits Lumber Warehouse
A former employee has been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to Elder Forest Products, Crowley, La., according to Elder's Arvin Compton.
Firefighters battled for 12 hours to extinguish the July l2 blaze that destroyed a lumber warehouse. Several firemen had to be treated for dehydration.
Investigators searched through debris for clues to the cause of the blaze that started just before l0:30 p.m. on a Saturday.
The damage was, according to owner Donald Elder, "very extensive. I'm grateful to God we still have one complete rough draft shed which holds our raw material."
The surviving shed, ironically, itself caught fire six years ago and the cause was never determined.
The unnamed suspect is also believed to be behind two other recent cases of arson.

Cypress lumber is oft times the most maligned lumber in the industry-primarily because most folks don't know where to look for it or don't know what to do with it when they find it.
Quoting directly from one Texas timber frame manufacturer, "Cypress is not a particularly strong wood." We have reclaimed houses, barns, docks, warehouses, and cotton gins that were built from cypress lumber that have stood for hundreds of years-and in commercial cases have withstood tremendous workloads. We would then resaw or remill this wood and be astounded at the quality of the product. This is not something I have seen in any other common lumber.
Another quote is, "prone to ring shake separation." I would certainly hope so. If not, the cypress shake would be on its backside. Ring separation has not been a factor in any cypress lumber that we have handled.

The most common criticism I have heard is, "it's so expensive." To squelch that complaint, nail a yellow pine 2x 4 and cypress 2x 4 board to the side of a building, come back l0 years later, get your cypress board, and try to retrieve what is left of the nails where the pine board was.
"Expense is always relative to quality"-a quote I will attribute to my ex-wife. Obviously, if you are building a
low budget home, cypress would not be the lumber of choice. If you are supplying those who are interested in an investment as well as the aesthetic beauty of the product, cypress is the lumber of choice.
"Cypress is just not available in quantity"-same Texan. I certainly will not suggest that it is as common as the pine that is being eaten by the pine beetle, but I have not had an order that I couldn't fill.
That brings up another subject: wood decay and insect resistance. There are very few types of lumber that even come close to cypress lumber in these departments.
Last but not least. lumber treatment. As far as I know. lumber treatment has been around for decades. There are cypress lumber buildings that have stood in this country for as lons as there has been a U.S.A.

N.Y. Dealer Adding Sth Store
Noble Ace Hardware will open its fifth store this fall in Seneca Falls, N.Y.
The company is renovating 19,000 sq. ft. of a former Ames store, hoping to open in early November.
President Ken Noble, who owns the chain with his brother, v.p. Rob, said they had been looking at the Seneca Falls area for about two years, but for the last year had been concentrating on its latest opening, in Johnstown, N.Y. Johnstown general mgr. Vincent Cardone will run the new store.
The chain also operates Ace Hardware stores in Queensbury and Glen Falls, N.Y., and Rutland, Vt., and plans to eventually add three to five more locations.
Afternoon Twister Takes Roof
A tornado damaged three buildings at Pekin Hardwood Lumber Co., Pekin, Il., as employees looked on.
The twister touched down at 3:38 p.m. July 8 and tore off the front part of the roof of the yard's westernmost warehouse- with four people inside.
"I had five seconds (to find shelter)," said employee Tyler Sullivan,
who saw the storm approach, "and I didn't hear anything but wind. It was stunning."
After the storm, the yard was littered with debris, including roofing and siding that had blown more than 100 yards.
Yard Foreman Claims Bias
A former yard foreman at Carter Jones Lumber, Athens, Oh., is suing the company for alleged age and sex discrimination.

Floyd Stevens, 48, filed complaints against the Kent, Oh.-based chain with the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and the Ohio Bureau of Worker' s Compensation.
Stevens said that he was terminated three years ago because of his age, claiming he rvas told that if he didn't color his hair to look younger, he could be replaced.
He also alleged that the female store manager, who had recently taken over, harassed him to date her sister. He said his refusal created a difficult situation for him that eventually caused him to lose his job.
Stevens reportedly decided to act as
his own attorney in the case, after a lawyer advised him that he could not find any facts to suggest that his termination was illegal.
The OCRC complaint also alleges religious prejudice. Stevens added that the company inflicted its fundamentalist Christian beliefs upon him because he is agnostic. The EOEC dismissed the sex discrimination suit since it was not filed within the time frame required, but gave him a letter for the right to sue.
The BWC complaint, which included his current lawsuit, was based on an earlier contention about an injury Stevens incurred while on the job, where his hand was smashed between two propane tanks, and he allegedly could not take off work to let it heal.
Ecolabel Stamp of Approval
When given the choice between ecolabeled and non-ecolabeled plywood products, consumers opt for the ecolabeled one, according to a recent study. As long as the price of the plywood was the same, the ecolabeled merchandise outsold the non-ecolabeled merchandise 2 to -.
At two Home Depot stores in
Oregon, consumers were offered a choice between virtually identical ecolabeled and non-ecolabeled sheets of plywood in bins next to each other.
When priced identically, 271 pieces of ecolabeled products were sold compared to 132 pieces of non-ecolabeled products.
When the ecolabeled plywood was priced 2Vo higher, 37Va of consumers paid the premium ( 103 of 279 buyers).

Conducting several surveys, researchers found that consumers generally favor certified products, and a smaller segment is willing to pay premiums for the ecolabeled stamp of approval.
For manufacturers and retailers. this suggests that offering ecolabeled products may increase marketshare, as long as consumers do not have to pay extra for it.
Ace Overseer Faces Charges
An Ace Hardware loss-prevention employee faces six years in prison if found guilty of stealing up to $100,000 of merchandise from a distribution warehouse in La Crosse, Mn.
Jeffrey P. Lepsch, 30, was anested at his home allegedly after the company's loss prevention team watched him leave with a truck full of tools and other materials.
Lepsch admitted to police that he stole about $8,000 worth of equipment, but denies taking the $100,000 worth of merchandise that store officials say has been stolen over the past three years, according to authorities. He faces six years in prison if convicted of felony theft.
According to the criminal complaint, once the warehouse closed, Lepsch turned the surveillance cameras off, backed his truck up to a loading dock and filled it up. Police confronted Lepsch at his home after he was seen driving away from the warehouse.
Some of the equipment Lepsch said he took was electronics, cases of thermometers, fluorescent lights, propane cans, a telescope, water heater and an assortment of tools. He told police that he either sold the items over the Internet or gave them away.
Fireworks Spark Yard Fires
Investigators suspect fireworks are to blame for a pair of lumberyard fires during the Fourth of July weekend.
Bottle rockets were found near the source of a July 4 fire that destroyed a building at the old Petit Jean Lumber Yard, Fort Smith, Ar. Damage is estimated at $100.000.
The blaze attracted a crowd of
bystanders, many out in search of a fireworks display. "There were huge clouds in the sky and they were all lit up orange," said one onlooker.
Two days later, bottle rockets also likely ignited piles of wood scrap and mobile home structure at an Independence, Mo., lumber salvage yard.
Depot To Get Data Hook-Up
Home Depot will begin implementing an item registry and synchronization services for its more than 1.500 stores located in the United States, Puerto Rico. Canada. and Mexico this year.
Home Depot is in the process of requesting its suppliers subscribe to UCCnet and its data services.
Home Depot will register location data in the UCCnet Globalregistry, an industry-supported repository for standardized item, location and trading partner data. Home Depot's suppliers will also register item data in the Globalregistry.
Once registered, UCCnet checks the data for compliance to industry standards. Home Depot will then use UCCnet's item synchronization service to synchronize the registry-compliant data with its suppliers, ensuring that all suppliers are using identical, up-to-date, standards-compliant data.

Roseburg Adds Two EWP DCs
Roseburg Forest Products has opened two additional engineered wood customer supply centers (CSCs) to support growing demand for EWP.
A new CSC in Fairless Hills, Pa., will serve Mid-Atlantic and New England markets. The second new CSC, in Colton, Ca., will serve Southern California.
Roseburg also operates CSCs in Rockton, Il., for the Midwest and Great Lakes regions and at its EWP mill in Riddle, Or., for the Northwest.
"Having product staged in strategic locations throughout the country provides a unique service advantage to our customers," said Bob Berch, sales mgr. for Roseburg's EWP division.
The centers stock the complete line of Roseburg Framing System products, including RFPI Joist, Rigidlam LVL and RigidRim Rimboard.
L-P Reaches Divestiture Goal
With a definitive agreement to sell 465,000 more acres of timberland in southeastern Texas, Louisiana-Pacific Corp. has exceeded its divestiture target of $700 million in asset sales over the last year.
An institutional investor asreed to
pay $285 million for the land, which will be managed by Molpus Woodlands Group, Jackson, Ms. The deal is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter.

"This agreement marks a key milestone in the divestiture program we announced 14 months ago," said Mark A. Suwyn, L-P's chairman and c.e.o. "Once this sale and other announced transactions are completed, we will have accomplished essentially everything we set out to do within the time period we stated. The total value achieved through this program will exceed the upper end of our $600 to $700 million target. With these funds, we have reduced our debt and have initiated investments in the businesses we have retained."
Investigators Clear Depot
No criminal charges will be filed against Home Depot tor the May 2 death of a 6-year-old boy at its store in Pharr, Tx. However, there is still time for prosecutors to file criminal charges if new evidence is found, and the family chooses to file a lawsuit.
Patio doors fell from shelving and crushed Ivan San Miguel while he was shopping with family, according to
police. Investigators said that while helping a customer, an employee left a pallet unattended without securing the rest of the doors. Police concluded it was a possible negligent homicide.
According to Sofia Arizpe, assistant district attorney, Hildago County, Tx., it has become a civil matter since there is not enough evidence to file criminal charges.
Home Depot has since implemented a new safety rule that requires employees to remove all the doors from pallets after packaging. A company can only be sued in Texas if its top management is aware of the offense. If management is found to have allowed unsafe conditions that resulted in his death, the company could possibly be found negligent. The family has hired an attorney.

Hardware Store Worker Slain
A worker at Earl's True Value Hardware, Fredericksburg, Va., was stabbed to death at the store's on-site post office.
Soon after the store closed for the day July 14, a co-worker discovered Crystal Michelle Jacobs, 33, unconscious and bleeding in the postal area at the back of the store. Jacobs had worked for the company on and off fbr l5 years.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $100.000.
The sheriff's department. FBI and postal agents are investigating.
The store was closed for fbur days as a result of the tragedy.
Flood Swamps Ohio Yard
Flooding forced the July 2 I closure of Terry Lumber & Supply Co., Peninsula, Oh., and co-owner Judy Lahoski was unsure when the business would reopen.
Rushing waters from a nearby creek dumped mud on the floors of the yard's main building and carried lumber from storage sheds, depositing hundreds of 2x4s around the yard.
Floodwaters also overturned trash cans and fuel tanks for companyowned vehicles.
At an adjacent company, Peninsula Hardwoods, water rose to about 4 ft.
Depot Cleared In CCA Suit
A federal judge in West Palm Beach, Fl., has dismissed responsibility for Home Depot to replace CCA pressure treated wood in decks and playground equipment across Florida.
According to the ruling, too many variables can contribute to chemical leaching, and vague product identification would make it difficult to blame a single party.
U.S. District Judge Donald Middlebrooks noted that a class action lawsuit "would be futile."
In February, a federal judge denied the case class action status, after plaintiffs admitted that only a handful of personal injuries have been filed relating to CCA. He also dismissed several CCA treated lumber suppliers from the lawsuit, leaving Home Depot as the sole defendant.
Wood Preservative Science
Council executive director Jim Hale called the ruling a major setback to
those who have been trying to make CCA 'lhe next asbestos. and to alarm the public to a threat which simply does not exist."
Rollin M. Anderson, 88, longtime manager of Hanson Lumber Co., Boxholm, Ia., died July 19 in Boone, Ia.
A native of Boxholm. he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, afterwards joining Hanson Lumber.
Katherine "Katie" Sheriff, marketing director for Lee Lumber Co., Chicago, Il., died June 30 of injuries suffered when a three-story porch collapsed from an apartment building. Twelve people were killed and at least 57 others were injured in the accident.
Ms. Sheriff had been with the company for about one month. Prior to working for Lee Lumber, she worked for an advertising agency, after graduating from Duke University.

The new member gains instant exposure through our wmmpa.com web site. The searchable database is a key feature that lets visitors to wmmpa.com sift through our membership listing to find those companies that manuf'acture products they are seeking to purchase.
The WMMPA Director,- o.f Members, Products & Services is a popular publication that is widely distributed in North America to the buyers of wood moulding and millwork.

The print advertising the association conducts throughout the year on behalf of its membership in industry specific magazines gains name recognition for all member companies.
Allen: The WMMPA marked 40 years last month. Has the association changed its mission or purpose fbr existence since its inception in 1963?
Schroeder: No, our purpose has not changed. We have, however, streamlined our business meetings, focusing more on education geared specifically to moulding and millwork manufacturers. The speakers we hire deliver timely topics that our members can use each day in their facilities. Now we spend more time sitting down together discussing our markets, available technology, and standards, sharing our knowledge base with each other. There is no greater wealth of wood moulding and millwork knowledge anywhere than when our members gather together. Our members utilize each other's experiences to grow and expand their operations.
Allen: Do you think there are misconceptions by non-member manufacturers regarding the WMMPA?
Schroeder: Misconceptions are always out there, whether they are about the WMMPA or other associations regardless of the industry. I think the number one misconception regarding our organization is that we only service large manufacturing facilities or corporations. which is not the case. Our dues schedule accommodates a one-moulder operation running 15,000 bd. ft. per month or less.
Allen: Is there a benefit that you think is overlooked by potential WMMPA members, kind of a sleeper benefit?
Post Ofiice Box 2068 Roseboro, NC 28382 Phone: 91 0-525-4046

Schroeder: I could say the 20-Minute Fire-Rated Door Frame Standard. Manufacturers that want to produce a fire-rated door frame can utilize our specifications without charge just by joining the WMMPA. I could also point out that just being affiliated with the WM logo has its own benefits and product validation. But, I think I would have to settle on peer interaction. We cannot put a dollar value on rubbing elbows with our peers. If a company were just getting off the ground, what dollar value would they attribute to sitting down at a table with seasoned manufacturers to discuss plant operations?
As with any volunteer organization. you get out of it what you put into it. Our active WMMPA members will tell you that the business meetings they attend coupled with the business relationships they have developed has more than paid for their investment in this association.

Millwork Firm Opens To Shutters

Glen Oak Lumber & Milling has made it easier for builders to address one of the challenges associated with the architectural windows popular in today's home designs.
Attention-getting windows like ovals, circles and half-
circles require lvindow coverings capable of providing privacy, light control and a look as special as the accent windows themselves. By purchasing the assets of specialtyshape shutter manufacturer North American Sunburst Corp., Naples, Fl., and serving as the emerging entity's managing partner, Glen Oak intends to significantly impact thc specialty shutter products category.
Using proprietary CNC manufacturing technology, North American Sunburst creates radius and angled plantation-style shutters in any shape and size-automatically and precisely producing seven custom-made specialty shutters in the time it takes others to produce a single shutter by hand. With Glen Oak's financial, operational and marketing support, North American Sunburst has been able to increase its production capacity ten-fold in a single shift, and effectively serve a rapidly growing nationwide customer base, in a single year. Additional improvements are in process.
I-ikervise, thc shutter industry experts at North American Sunburst, including creator and brand manager Ted Morse. have considerably shortened Glen Oak's learning curve in the window fashions category of building material products. As a result, the large millwork manufacturcr has successfully parlayed its experience fingerjointing, moulding and priming interior trim, into producing and selling shutter pafts.
Glen Oak's Arrow-Straight F.J. shutter components quickly gained acceptance from plantation shutter manufhcturers and f'abricators. Produced at Glen Oak's poplar plant in Somerset, Ky., they are distributed from multiple facilities throughout the U.S., including a new facility shared with North American Sunburst in Naples, Fl.
IT'S A WPICAL WARM SUMMER DAY.
SO WHAT'S THE TEMPERATURE INSIDE A SOLAR BOARD HOUSE?
It's a lot cooler, A house protected by Solar Board''' radiant barrier sheathing has a head start on comfort. Up to 97% of radiant heat from the sun is reflected by Solar Board, so the attic will be as much as 30" cooler. This means the rest of the house will certainly be cooler too. And in the winter these highly reflective Solar Board panels help to keep the heat inside.
Lower energf costs. A house kept comfortable by Solar Board is easy on energy bills. Typical costs for cooling are lower - up to 25%lower. Today a house that conserves energy is a whole lot more attractive to home buyers. So the small additional cost of Solar Board for roofs and walls is a real good investment.
A cool 20 year warranty. Solar Board is made right here in the USA and is backed by a20 year warranty. That's a real plus for new home buyers too.
