Date Set for So. California Retailers Convention

Mr. F. L. Morgan, secretary of the Southern California Retail Lumber Dealers Association, announces that the annual convention will be held at the Virginia Hotel, Long Beach, on November l7th. Further details will be forthcoming within the next two weeks.

Lumber Carriers In Collision At San Pedro

Declared to have been caused by confusion in signals, a collision between the lumber schooners Virginia Olson and the Claremont caused considera,ble damage to the former. The Claremont wss not damaged, and proceeded to her berth. She was just entering t-he harbor, loaded, and the Virginia Olson was on ths way out, empty.

The Virginia Olson was struck amidships and her hull cut through from the water line to the rail. She began to settle, and was towed by a tug to the Bethlehem shipyards.
