This Saturday the ‘Festival Of The Stone’ which has been touring the East Coast, hits Byron. It’s the release of a new beer from Stone & Wood and an epic clean up of our beautiful beaches. Meet at Apex Park, Main Beach to do your bit cleaning up from 1pm to 3pm. Then you’ll have something to celebrate at the after party at Stone & Wood Brewery from 4pm to 10pm. There will be live music and super tasty food from JR’s Smokehouse, plus $5 beers. All proﬁts go to the Clean Coast Collective so everyone wins. In Mullum at the Civic Hall on Saturday night, indie-folk darlings Tinpan Orange are taking the stage. They are celebrating the release of their new album ‘Love Is A Dog’ and tickets to see the brother-sister outﬁt are $25 at the door ($19 for youths) or cheaper if you catch tickets online at redsquaremusic.com.au. Who doesn’t need a good margarita in the afternoon? 5. The man who warns us of pot holes ahead with bright paint. Who knows how many accidents have been avoided for my car, and I thank you greatly 5 things I hate about Byron: 1. Pot holes, pot holes and more pot holes 2. Traffic backup on Johson St 3. Paid parking at Clarkes Beach. I am all for the need of paid parking to fix our roads but this is a bit too far. 4. Peoples junk they leave on the side of the road with a FREE sign on it. If it’s an eye sore in your house, it’s an eye sore on the side of the road that we all don’t want to see. 5. Dog owners who don’t pick up after their hounds and leave poo on our beautiful beaches. I’ve seen you kick sand over it, pick it up.
