It’s another one of those weeks where you’ve got to be happy you live in this amazing part of the world. You don’t have to venture far to see some excellent local events. On Friday the Bangalow BBQ & Bluegrass Festival kicks off with an old-time music and comedy variety show at the A&I Hall. There is something like 70 artists involved and of course a super tasty BBQ, tickets are $50. Then on Saturday the festival starts at the showgrounds, featuring the ultimate BBQ competition and the pickers comp, where musicians will fight for glory on the banjo, guitar, mandolin and fiddle. You can enter and try your luck, or kick back and enjoy watching the amazing talent. The North Coast Mud Trail is also on this weekend where you can go and check out the open ceramics studios of our wonderful artists. There’s a map you download from the website, all entry is free and the ceramics are for sale. There are also workshops happening at certain studios, check the website for all the details northcoastmudtrail.com.au. Our picks are the Pinky & Maurice studio where you can paint a porcelain saucer and the Lucy Vanstone Studio in Brunswick Heads where a lucky few can create a bird.
