Breathe in. Breathe out. The year is winding down and party season is ramping up! It’s time to let your hair down and melt into Christmas next week. If your dance card isn’t full already, get along to some of these events. On Friday Stone & Wood are having an arvo sesh at the Byron Bay Brewery from 5pm. They are putting on a couple of karma kegs where you decide how much you pay for each beer. Proceeds go to charity and there will be pizza by Olive and Luca. Then on Saturday, the Bay FM Christmas Discotheque “Boogie Wonderland” is kicking off at 6pm at the Bangalow Bowlo. The Magic Bus will take you there from Byron, so long as you dress in retro and bring your dancing shoes. Snap up a ticket from Bay FM (at the back of the Community Centre) or call 6680 7999. The kids can get in on the action too on Sunday at the Annual Beachy Christmas Party from 3pm to 6pm. There will be face painting, activities, drinks specials and food tastings. The party will really get going when Motez takes the stage at the end of the night. Locals Overruled Anonymous __________________________________________ Great to see that council is offering to develop a “Masterplan“ for our community but what does it really matter what the locals want when any developer who does’t like or respect the community’s and council’s decision then takes it to the state government and it overturns our decision. THE COMMUNITY DOES NOT WANT THIS GROSSLY OVERSIZED WEST BYRON DEVELOPMENT and if anybody wants to see what our future holds then they just need to take a drive up the coast and see what they have done to the coastline at Salt... only one word for that type of development... UGLY... I came here 30 years ago and have watched us fight for our beautiful little town over and over again, but this time we have supposedly no choice... the government has spoken and stuff what this community wants.. so as I said why invite the community to contribute to anything when we really do not have a say...We must all lobby council to stop this over development of our little town...we do not have the infrastructure.
