About 3 weeks ago, I dropped my sunnies somewhere between my car (Lawson St South carpark) & the office. Not realising until the evening, I was pretty devastated and couldn’t find them anywhere. They are my faves and you know once you’ve got a good pair of (expensive) sunnies that you like, there’s just no replacing them. Anyway, as I was driving home, pretty spewin’ and guess what started sliding up my windscreen?? Yep. Someone obviously found them and put them under my wipers. Thank you whoever you are. Very much appreciated.

Swimmer __________________________________________ I love the Main Beach pool! Often overlooked in the shadow of sand and surf just 30m away or ignored by those in favour of salt in their eyes instead of chlorine in their hair.. I would like to draw attention to how brilliant it is in there and conclude that after a summer here 4 years ago.. it is probably the reason I returned to Byron! 50m of serene clean turquoise water, well behaved lap swimmers, relaxed friendly staff & healthy families making a day of it. I originate from a land of congested 25m lanes, lack of public funding, or culture for outdoor sports, to keep such open air (therefore reduced chlorine) facilities open. Swimming is a glorious and excellent sport, therapeutic in both body and mind. The ocean swimmers that cross the bay each day inspire me hugely.. but I also know that without pools such as this they never would have learnt their shark dodging front crawl skills in the first place. It will be a long winter without this fave spot of mine !

Great service and music, and well prepared for Winter with effective outside heating. The hot pepperoni with lashings of runny cheese and hot chilli oil on the side was the yummiest pizza I have ever eaten (also seriously enjoyed by a local chef who accompanied me). Our ‘wussy’ mate chose the mixed veg pizza that was surprisingly also fab. The JJ McLaren Vale shiraz was very good but seemed to evaporate so we had to order a replacement bottle! Many thanks to Bazaar and Santé.
