Nattali Rize is going to own the stage, surrounded by an international Jamaican band in full swing. Known for her high energy, uplifting live performances (and fronting Blue King Brown), she’s a must-see for all ages. Tickets are $20 for adults and $14 for youths. Of course Sunday is all about showing our beautiful mamas how special they all are. You could celebrate with a yummy deli picnic at The Farm. Order your hamper online, full of local goodies and then kick back and enjoy. Hampers are $100 and feed two to four people. If you decide to head to The Balcony on Mothers Day, Mum will receive a free glass of Moët with every dozen oysters purchased or you could head to The Byron At Byron where there’s a set bubbles brunch ($49) or long lunch ($70). Over at the new Elements Resort, Graze Restaurant will be putting on live music and complimentary sparkling at brunch for the mothers. Your Mum might prefer a bit of old school Paul Hogan to sparkling... if that’s the case then head to the Brunswick Picture House for the 6pm screening of Crocodile Dundee. Enjoy! In nearly every street in town pot holes are multiplying at a unbelievable rate. Not a good thing for all the motoring visitors to put up with. Maybe I should go into business fixing shock absorbers and repairing tyres and become the next Byron Millionaire.

__________________________________________ Seriously I am getting over it, I can only count to 10 and breathe deeply so many times as I drive my car through the obstacle course of stupid cyclists around Byron each day. We can’t see you at night if you have no lights, we can’t 2nd guess your next move, we can’t always get out the way of your wayward riding, if you insist on riding on the wrong side of the road bear in mind that at intersections / roundabouts / pulling out of a park we drivers are most likely looking in the opposite direction to where you are. No cyclist or motorist wants to be part of a smash. Hats off (and helmets on) to the cyclists who ride the roads on the right side with lights and look before they turn or move into the traffic. As for the others I think its time the police starting fining bad riders or even worse forcing them to wear tight racing bike lycra.
