ARNOLD ALOIS SCHWARZENEGGER HAS HAD A MULTIVERSE CAREER.
There are some classic movies – most of the Terminator series, The Running Man, maybe Kindergarten Cop, perhaps Conan the Barbarian, Predator? – and there are many other films that should never have been made. There are his years as Governor of California, some books, weight-lifting records, and of course the start of it all, his crowning as Mr. Universe. But when you search the net for Arnold, the most popular topic will be “The Ongoing Mystery of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Actual Height”. The source of all truth - Wikipedia – lists Arnie’s height as 1.88 mtrs, or 6’2”. However, further research uncovers that this simple fact is in much dispute. There are literally hundreds of sites dedicated to uncovering one of the world’s great mysteries – thousands of pages of analysis, commentary, witness statements, expert opinion and scientific testing. One team dedicated to uncovering the truth concluded, proof positive, that he was anywhere from 5’9” to 6’2”. At the end of it all, the best you will get is that nobody actually knows – other than the man himself. Why the mystery? Well, the conspiracy theorists suggest it is all due to Arnie wanting to avail himself of all the privileges, opportunities and achievements that only a man of above average stature could expect to attain. He has somehow been able to conceal his height whilst parading openly and publicly, right under our noses, for over 50 years. And now he is using those ill-gotten gains to peddle Corona Virus propaganda. Conan the Barbarian is taking on COVID the Destroyer, from the luxurious camouflage of his hot tub in his home gym. Arnie is on TV, on Twitter, telling folks to reduce the spread, to stay at home and to social distance. He loves his pets, does Arnie – he has a dog named Cherry, Lulu the donkey and Whiskey the miniature pony – and his covert covid message is for us all to work and work out at home, and, like him, spend more quality time with our pets. Is this all rubbish, conservative propaganda and establishment lies, peddled by a short man pretending to be tall? I don’t know about you, but I’m happy to take Mr. Schwarzenegger’s advice, whatever height he is. Last week’s anniversary present turns out to be even more perfect than I had hoped. I have a very happy wife, she has a lovable Irish Water Spaniel, and I have another reason to stay home. Look out for us on our socially acceptable early morning walks – I’ll be the one being dragged along by an enthusiastic, panting woolly bear who occasionally answers to Precious or Rosie. With wet feet and a soggy dog, we remain house bound but Covid free. Thanks Arnie, one day soon, we’ll be back, out and about. Till then… Cheers and stay chilled!! Tony Byron Bazaar

Tarotscopes WEEKLY TAROT FORECAST
FOR THE LAST FOUR WEEKS WE HAVE BEEN
deeply immersed in a three-fold eclipse season, plus an intense conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto. Some of the challenges experienced may be related to reconsidering your beliefs around power, money, ambition and sex. This could be the time of big revelations or huge efforts to hide the truth! Gaining new insight, remodelling your belief-systems and transforming your perspective might feel like hard work. Amidst all this inner insecurity, Saturn the planet for structure and discipline, moves back into Capricorn where he resides until mid-December. During the three month stint he spent in unique Aquarius, he gave us a taste of innovative and unusual solutions to our modern life problems. Now in Capricorn, he is not in the mood for experiments; he rather clamps down with all his might to protect conservative structures using severe, austere and often overbearing measures. Also on Thursday retrograde Mercury forms a tension-loaded square to Chiron. Some painful conversations or issues from early May might well up for reconsideration; make sure you don’t get stuck in a doom and gloom perspective! In connection with others it might be helpful to listen with your heart, watch body language and read between the lines. Sunday’s Full Moon features the last lunar eclipse until late November, which is not visible from Australia. On this day take a little moment to reflect on how your life has changed during the last six weeks; what you had to let go of and what is new, exciting or disturbing. For the bigger picture read your Sun, Moon and Rising signs. A Tarot card is drawn for each astrological sign.

The Fool Tarot card marks a fresh start. You won’t give into the fears and worries of others anymore and you are ready to embark on your own, courageous new journey. Right now you are only interested in the ventures that promise to make your heart sing to your own inner tune.

The Princess of Disks works in mysterious ways and mostly in the unseen. She is highly creative, as you are, but she has an inbuilt trust and patience that you can learn a lot from. Remember that most great deeds start with an idea, then there is lots of preparation (that’s where you are operating right now), and then finally big things can happen when the time is ripe…
The Prince of Swords examines his thoughts, attitudes and beliefs deeply and is ready to act with certainty, once he comes to a satisfying conclusion. You might feel internal pressure to make big decisions, but he advises you to hold on and sit with your new ideas at least until retro Mercury changes direction in mid-July.

The 6 of Cups symbolises kind and benevolent action. Where in your community would you like to offer your services, or which group would you like to join and work with towards a common goal? If you are very busy, maybe just a few acts of random kindness will do. The pleasure you get from giving, comes back to you as satisfaction from contributing to the greater good.
j CANCER
The Princess of Swords is ready for action, but only on her very own terms! With her by your side you might get prickly if other people try to reason with you or try to curb your freedom in any way. Make sure that all your mental energy and agility is directed towards a worthwhile mission.
With the 5 of Swords drawn you may experience inner and outer tension to the point that you lose sight of your overall mission or direction. Be careful with sudden unbridled ambition; achievement at all costs might not bring you the long-term satisfaction that you are after.
The 3 of Cups is all about connection to friends, family and/or the wider community. You are the embodiment of true team-spirit and you gain so much pleasure from networking, supporting others and creating a nurturing, positive and lighthearted environment. All the good vibes you share come back to you multiplied.
b SCORPIO
The Hierophant Tarot card depicts the archetype of a wise, mature teacher or philosopher. This week you may be able to resolve a family issue or assist a friend in distress. People seek your advice because they have watched for years how you walk the mystical path with practical feet.
c SAGITTARIUS
The Queen of Cups inspires you to get in touch with your tender, intuitive and psychic energy. With her by your side you may want to take time out and immerse yourself in beautiful nature, preferably near water, and enter into a deep state of oneness with the world around you. From this experience you can gather inspiration for your next step.
d CAPRICORN
With the 7 of Wands drawn you are challenged to honour your vision and to stand up for what you value. Others may have all sorts of reasons for trying to persuade you to cave in and follow their directives, but things work best for you if you hold out against pressure and fulfil your own needs first; otherwise you risk burnout.
e AQUARIUS
The Tower Tarot card does not leave you many options right now. You may have to adapt to chaos and upheaval, and allow your carefully laid plans to be swept up by sudden changes. It may be a humbling experience that shows you that you are not always in control. Nevertheless inner peace can follow if you are gentle with yourself let go.
f PISCES
The Magician Tarot card appears to bring some long lost magic back into your life. The Magnus would like to inspire you to use your great creative mind in a highly disciplined, structured and focused way, in order to produce outstanding results. Clear communication, a cando attitude and accurate timing are essential.

DEAR KEENWA,
It's so great to be amongst the Byron nightlife once again. Dancing to rad music from Shire bands from the comfort of a squeaky, plastic chair isn't ideal, but i'll take it. Unfortunately, this week I sat, dancing like nobody was watching, when in fact a police officer was watching. He mistook a severe leg cramp (to which I sprung to my feet whist clutching my ankle, and shouting in agony which may have looked like ecstasy) for a standing dance move. I was not only removed from the venue (without finishing my Corona) but issued an enormous infringement notice. I have mild fibromyalgia (diagnosed by a local Shaman), do you think I have a case for appeal? Is there a Covid Lawyer about? - DanceDunnit
DEAR DANCEDUNNIT,
The Webster dictionary defines a dance move as a series of steps and movements that match the speed and rhythm of a piece of music. Now if you can prove how out of time you were, you might just have a case.
DEAR KEENWA,
Another bloody full moon eclipse. What gives? As I was sharing from the heart with my conscious mens group, the current energies really have made me reflect and commit to healing toxic masculinity, both in my personal, intimate relationships, and family and work, so that the wider culture can shift. I mean, us men created this culture! If we can be vulnerable, and have the courage to apologise to our lovers, girlfriends, daughters, mothers, and ex-wives for all the pain we have caused...who knows, we might just dismantle racism, sexism, and oppression from our world completely! It is up to us to be the warriors and kings that we want to be, and lead fearlessly, in the bedroom, and in society, with the ability to take full responsibility for our behaviours and the ways in which we have fallen short, so that we can do much better by everyone. - Moon Man
DEAR MOON MAN,
Please leave your contact details at reception.

This week's review
TITLE: Michael Jordan: The Life AUTHOR: Roland Lazenby NUMBER OF PAGES: 688 READING TIME: 9 hours 20 minutes PRICE: $35.95 WHAT IT'S ABOUT: You may have seen “The Last Dance”
– the recently aired 10-part Netflix special that followed 20 years of Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls teammates. Most of the world tuned in. Well, before the movie, there was the book. Published in 2014, basketball journalist Roland Lazenby spent almost 30 years covering Jordan's life – warts and all. He witnessed Jordan's growth from a college rookie player to perhaps the world’s most recognisable basketball brand.
WHO IT'S FOR: Like the movie, this is so much more than

a story for sport’s fans. The analysis of almost inhuman achievement and the efforts required to get there make for compelling reading – taking you on a journey into both American sports history and popular culture.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: To help understand the
legend, this book covers everything Michael Jordan – ancestry, family, childhood, friends, enemies, teammates, teachers, coaches, fans - and of course Jordan himself. He is a complex legend - incredibly driven and focussed, a ruthless competitor who is consumed by his competitive ambitions, and a gambler with problems. Some of the games covered incorporate such fairytale finishes that you would swear they must be fiction rather than fact. If ever there was a sportsman who was poetry in motion, it’s Michael Jordan gliding down the court, his body in sync with the ball, leaping towards the roof for a slam dunk. The history would not be complete without the alternative views provided by fellow players – those full of admiration, those grateful for the teachings, those tinged with contempt.

This week's recommendation
ALBUM TITLE: græ ARTIST: Moses Sumney RELEASED: Feb & May 2020 GENRE: R&B / Jazz / Alt. Pop BIO: græ is an ambitious double album from
American singer-songwriter Moses Sumney. Part one was released in February 2020, with the full album following in May. Moses produced EP’s in 2014 and 2016, before his first full length album, Aromanticism, was released to critical acclaim in September 2017. It is hard to pin him down to any one genre and this album is certainly many faceted. Like a box of chocolates, you sometimes won’t know what’s inside until you unwrap and taste. Moses is well supported by studio musicians, who instil touches of pop, R&B, jazz, techno punk, even a little folk, on this lengthy and mostly successful musical production.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Moses puts a lot of thought into his lyrics – a lot of personal examination. A number of tracks are spoken rather than sung, to add to the album storylines rather than being stand-alone singles. Musical themes explored are designed to be many and varied, rich and lush, sparse and sporadic, smooth and jarring.
WHAT WE LIKE: The first full musical piece is Cut Me, which features Sumney’s soaring falsetto and some jazzy trumpet riffs. Virile blends gentle harp and flute, adding frenetic keyboards, thundering percussion and falsetto harmonies. Neither/Nor moves from simple strummed guitar through to glorious orchestration. Polly is styled as an acoustic ballad, Moses speaks directly to the listener in Lucky Me, and then Bless Me mixes the voice and musicianship to create a true pop single. STANDOUT TRACKS: Virile, Polly, Bless Me. PERFECT FOR: This is one of those albums that
demands your attention if it is to be appreciated. A quiet, wet Sunday afternoon listen – and probably not all in one sitting.
