Tarotscopes WEEKLY TAROT FORECAST

LAST

TUESDAY

AND

WEDNESDAY

(11th & 12th) graced us with the culmination of three major aspects, involving Sun, Jupiter and Pluto. Whatever happened in your world may still affect you quite powerfully during this week. On Thursday a Venus/ Saturn sextile offers cooperation and a willingness to move forward in a sensible and responsible way. There is a danger of becoming overly idealistic with Mercury opposite Neptune (exact on Friday), and if you are looking for perfect solutions you most likely end up disappointed and disillusioned. Sunday is another big day that might bring challenging conversations and truth! A Mercury/Pluto earth trine makes it the perfect time for a deep and meaningful analysis of Pluto’s realms: power, money and sex, and how these affect and play out in your relationships. A Sun/Saturn earth trine assists you in taking responsibility, while a Mercury/Jupiter sextile suggests taking the high road and incorporating the bigger picture. Some of the profound insights found may need a little time for integration… A Mars/Uranus square is building (exact on Wednesday) and you may be confronted with the recurrence of issues that first manifested in early August. There could be arrogance, ignorance and restlessness; nevertheless this may actually be the perfect opportunity to find innovative and unique solutions by thinking outside the box. For the bigger picture read your Sun, Moon and Rising signs. A Tarot card is drawn for each astrological sign.

RECYCLING AND TIP RUNS

g ARIES

The Fool Tarot card indicates that you are ready for a new beginning. This journey involves moving the centre of your being from your head into your heart. From there on you are absolutely committed to what makes your heart sing and to follow your inner knowing into uncharted territory.

h TAURUS

The 7 of Cups paints a picture of desperately holding onto addictive habits and outgrown ways of living because they once brought you much comfort and security. But times and circumstances have changed and procrastination is no longer an option. You may now feel the pressure to adjust to your newly-found truth.

i GEMINI

The Justice Tarot card inspires morally high standards and ethical principles. Equipped with these you may be able to navigate the challenges of this week in a constructive and satisfying way. You might help to bring clarity and balance into the lives of the people you are most concerned with.

j CANCER

The 8 of Swords indicates inner turmoil, most likely caused by a dilemma along the lines of ‘dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t’! If you feel paralysed or trapped, take heart and make an effort to consider new and different options. It is best to wait even if it takes much longer than you think it should, until you feel clear and settled, before you make any big decisions.

k LEO

The 4 of Wands represents a time for completion and celebration. You might be finishing off one project and already looking for the next exciting thing on the horizon. Take time to acknowledge and enjoy your well-deserved success, and reflect on the positive outcomes that your deep involvement of heart and soul bring to any venture.

l VIRGO

With the Magician card drawn your communication skills combined with a clear and sharp focus allow you to navigate this week in such a way that you get more of what you want. At times it may pan out in a truly miraculous way! Plus you may have a lot of fun transforming pure potential into reality.

a LIBRA

c SAGITTARIUS

The 7 of Disks represents doubt and a fear of failure. Before you sink too deeply into it, take some time to truly assess your situation and question the conclusions you come up with. Maybe there are other alternatives to ponder, and you could open up to a new perspective and different strategy.

d CAPRICORN

With Saturn and Pluto in your sign and the 5 of Disks drawn, you might feel under a lot of personal pressure and may wonder how long you can hold out. It is important to look after your health, not push forward too hard and, above all, to keep clear of any worst case ‘what-if’ scenarios that only drain your energy more.

e AQUARIUS

The Prince of Wands is known for his open-heated, charming and creative ways of dealing with any challenging situation. With him at your side you can smooth and soothe any trouble not only for yourself but also for others. Your can-do attitude and your passion for life are infectious.

The Ace of Disks is the highest manifestation card in the deck. With it by your side you truly succeed, and concrete results show up this week. They are not only the effect of hard work but also indicate that you integrated the principles of abundance and worthiness, which allow you to receive what you want in humble gratitude.

b SCORPIO

f PISCES

The 9 of Wands indicates a position of strength and resilience that helps you over the hurdles of this intense week. You are not one to give up easily anyway, but make sure to take time to remember what sustains you and helps you to keep up the pace. It may be daily exercise, time in nature or a creative outlet…

HYDE & STONE

With the Hanged Man Tarot card drawn it is best to suspend all action and pause to reflect, even though you might feel quite uncomfortable in your current situation. Tuning in, surrendering and letting go, are important mile-stones towards ending your inner struggle. From there a new perspective will open up seemingly by itself…

DEAR KEENWA, I work my ass off to give my family all they need – Euro holidays, cafe brunches...and lots of linen. But I draw the line at photographing our intimate family scenes for social media. Especially since, it’s never 'right' and my wife calls re-shoot at least four times a post. How can you re-create real life?! She's always on her phone during family time, and we haven't had a conversation in months as she is too busy editing and uploading. How can I get her back? Hubbyofinstagram

DEAR HUBBYOFINSTAGRAM, The secret is to speak your wife's love language. Sounds like she likes to be liked. You could start your own social media project such as #wivesofinstagram which sounds like a whole lot of boring pics of empty marital beds, silent dinners, and sad, abandoned children's faces, but she may just respond, if for God's sake, you don't forget to tag her.

I work hard on my daily spiritual practice which includes sunrise chanting; then half hour each of Kundalini yoga, meditation, heart dance, and tongue scraping. But as soon as I get on Ewingsdale Road I'm a mess. I moved here to restore my adrenals, and get away from peak hour traffic, got any recs for herbs to get me to work on time, and still feelin' fly? - Bitch Don't Wreck My Vibe

DEAR BITCH DON'T WRECK MY VIBE, I was going to recommend, not recommend cannabis oil to get you nice and irie on your morning travels, but I think herein the source of the problem. It is not you who needs to be medicated. Perhaps if we prescribed said oil to the powers that be, they would not pass laws that allow giant mega-structures to be built that have detrimental environmental impact.

SUSHI CHEF / COOK WANTED

This week's mantra

THE REAL FAILURE IS THE ONE WHO NEVER TRIES It’s time to commit. To your dreams, goals, desires. Stop hesitating. Stop ruminating. Stop secondguessing. Stop letting self-doubt drag you back. Stop waiting for the right time or the right sign. Stop wondering about what could be and go find out. The resistance you're feeling may be strong. But it's wrong. Resistance tells you it’s keeping you safe. But it’s really keeping you small. Resistance stands in the way of your growth, your expansion, the actualisation of your full potential. Ultimately, you have to make a choice between believing the resistance or breaking through it. Poet Mary Oliver wrote "the most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave it neither power nor time.” (DAYAMN, MARY.) The way I see it, "creative work" is something every single one of us does. Creative work is any action related to how we express ourselves in the world, how we expand into our potential. How you live your life is the most creative act. So, think about what’s worse - trying (and maybe not succeeding) or living with the regret that you never even tried? The biggest failure isn't the person who gives it a shot and flops. The biggest failure is the person who never tries. You can't control the outcomes, but you can decide if your dreams matter enough to try. So, screw the resistance and fuck that fear of failure. Every day you are either drifting away from your dreams or you're charging toward them. What are you going to do today? It’s your choice. My advice: Rise above the din of resistance. Choose your potential. Find the courage to commit. Lace up your boots. Pick up your tools. Start moving. It’s time.

BOOKS FOR Y

This week's review

TITLE: Jell-O Girls AUTHOR: Allie Rowbottom NUMBER OF PAGES: 288 EST. READ TIME: 5 hours and 51 minutes PRICE: $20.80 WHAT IT'S ABOUT: Jell-O. You’ve probably heard of

it. The American version of Aeroplane Jelly. The foundation of Allie Rowbottom’s life has been built from her family’s Jell-O fortune, selling the company for millions of dollars, decades before she was born. But as her mother gets sick she discovers the secrets of the ‘Jell-O curse’, a theory her mother has had for years that the women in the Rowbottom family have all been shortchanged, in life and consequently death. Jell-O Girls looks into the role of jelly in American society in dictating family values and perceptions of women.

WHO IT'S FOR: Mothers and daughters, history lovers and feminists.

WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: Jell-O Girls feels like a family

fable that’s happening in real time. Allie Rowbottom seamlessly links her own ancestry with American history, documenting the role of women in society throughout the ages. It is a powerful comment on the role of advertising and the impact it has on social structures, in the past but also in the present.

NOTABLE QUOTE: “My mother rarely ate the stuff. She

saw Jell-O as an effigy of a curse she longed to escape. An apron, a kitchen, and long hours spent molding the perfect dessert had always seemed like a cage to her, and she dreamed of freedom. Art and travel, music and self-expression, a life sung loudly and lived without fear.”

HI AL, WHAT’S THE DAILY BAR SPIEL? We’re honestly

healthy snack bars. Snacks that are good for us and good for the planet, we’re a sustainability focused company, and are always looking at ways of being completely circular with our waste (almost there!)

VOLUNTEER BEACH SURVEY OFFICERS

Positive Change for Marine Life are seeking volunteer Beach Survey Officers to help coordinate fortnightly beach cleans and data collation. Visit PCFML.ORG.AU and click “TAKE ACTION” for more information.

WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THE HATERS OUT THERE SAYING THE MARKET IS SATURATED? (OR SATUR-DATED, SHALL WE SAY;)

The others are all shit! (Can I say that? Not very diplomatic, but very true) How many times can dates and cacao wrapped in plastic be done? We’re different.

YOU’RE A YOUNG FEMALE BUSINESS OWNER, MAKING YOU THE MINORITY – COMMENT? I’m so grateful to be a

part of the movement; it’s pretty incredible what is happening in our world right now! This community in particular, has so many fearless female bosses paving the way, it’s powerful stuff.

ADVICE TO THOSE YOUNG - GONNA BE ENTREPRENEURS OUT THERE? Believe in what you’re doing with every cell in your body, you’re going to need that belief to get you through the tough times. Work your bloody ass off, and be a nice person (it’ll get you a long way)

BYRON’S A NICE PLACE, FOR ALL THIS, WOULD YOU SAY?

Absolutely! I couldn’t do what I do in a city that’s for sure. A sunset surf at the pass will wash off any proverbial shit storms that have reared their head that day.

IF YOU SEE A FRIEND, OR ACQUAINTANCE WITH A SINGLE USE COFFEE CUP IN THEIR HAND- DO YOU SAY ANYTHING?

Friend: Yes, absolutely! Acquaintance: I’d like to say yes, but I’m a bit of a socially awkward human, so in reality probably not, but leading by example goes a long way.

GIVE US SOME AL PHILOSOPHY? Don’t let the bastards get you down!

Listen to your tastebuds, head to thedailybar.co – we won’t judge, if you accidentally put a mint chop chip bar in your cart, we get it.
