Tarotscopes WEEKLY TAROT FORECAST

MERCURY IS STATIONARY AND TURNS

direct on Friday. He hardly moves all week, therefore keeping a long-term, at least for Mercury’s standards, ‘grand water trine’ with Chiron and the North Node. It started last week and becomes profoundly intense with Mercury, Venus, Mars, Neptune and Chiron in water signs. The emotional tide is high, but it also presents an opportunity to address old, sensitive issues that may have haunted you for a long time. You may find a way of healing them through exploring their connection to the present state of your body/mind consciousness. Transformation may also happen by overcoming reservations and talking freely about what has been affecting you for a long time. A square from Sun to Mars and Neptune, (exact on Thursday) spells inner tension and reactivity; this can be a very confusing time indeed! On the bright side, when Mars and Neptune unite in Pisces any creative endeavour or meditative retreat could soothe and nourish your soul and provide exactly the healing you need. For the bigger picture read your Sun, Moon and Rising signs. A Tarot card is drawn for each astrological sign.

The Princess of Disks suggests tuning into the most feminine, receptive and creative parts of your being and easing any impulsive urges to control, fight or argue. As you soften, your intuition guides you and you may discover new ways to communicate, cohabit and solve conflicts.

The 9 of Disks promises abundance and material wealth, but it also comes as a reminder that accumulating status and prestige does not satisfy the longing of the heart. True connection with people and nature, as well as sharing the good fortune you enjoy, enriches your life.

The Prince of Wands is fiery, passionate and charming. With him on your side you may explore the more daring and outrageous side of your personality. Express yourself freely and go for what you want; your positive attitude helps you to manifest your best and draw opportunities towards you.

The 2 of Cups symbolises love in action, which means moving towards love and acceptance with every action, throughout your day. This may be a great week to heal a strained relationship with a loved one or within yourself. When in doubt, ask yourself: what would love do in this moment?

i GEMINI

a LIBRA

The Wheel of Fortune indicates a turning point or breakthrough regarding an issue you have been dealing with for a while. Now is the time to find a creative, original, outside-the-box solution. Most likely this happens during a deep conversation that broadens your mind and alters your perspective.

Contrary to your preference for a busy social life, the Hermit Tarot card suggests taking time out for introspection and soul searching. As you retreat into your private space you find new alignment and peace from within. Therefore you are better equipped to handle the apparent idiosyncrasies of others once you emerge.

j CANCER

b SCORPIO

The 2 of Wands indicates inner tumult and tension. There is an inner fire burning that makes you want to seize the day and jump onto an opportunity, but in order to do that you have to be prepared to leave safe, familiar ground and embark on an adventure with unknown variables.

POSITIVE CHANGE FOR MARINE LIFE

Are looking for volunteers to fill a number of positions, such as Beach/River Survey Officers, Education Officers and Market Volunteers. If you are interested in ocean conservation, visit WWW.PCFML.ORG.AU or email S.MUSTON@PCFML.ORG.AU for more info!

BY GISELA

The 5 of Swords in combination with the watery astro flavour of this week might have a wet-blanket effect on your everyday experience. You may suffer and judge yourself as not good enough, because the gap between your ideal world and your reality is so huge. One way to start closing the chasm ever so slightly is the attitude of gratitude for the things that are working out.

c SAGITTARIUS

The 5 of Wands indicates strife and setbacks. As a freedom-loving spirit you don’t take well to restrictions and limitations that are imposed on you. Whether you face inner demons or outer conflict, a higher perspective may ease your irritation and help you to grow beyond the struggle into acceptance.

d CAPRICORN

The Ace of Swords provides you with a remarkable mental clarity that is extremely helpful in these confusing times. You might play an important role in solving a difficult situation or you might be graced with a new awareness and understanding about the workings of your own mind.

e AQUARIUS

The Ace of Wands represents a huge, fiery force, not unlike a volcanic eruption. To be able to use this power in a constructive way you have to funnel it into a creative project, sport or hard, physical work. You can get lots done when you are so fired up and you may come closer to realising your full potential.

f PISCES

The 8 of Wands asks for quick action and conscious reaction. You may receive some favourable news that opens unforseen possibilities. This is not the time to doubt and quietly keep pondering. You have to act swiftly, make connections, find out more and seize the opportunity presented.

DEAR KEENWA, There are so many organic cafes and food producers around the joint, but some of them have over 50,000 followers on Insta. Surely that's not organic growth? - Spray Free

DEAR SPRAY FREE, My undercover investigative and very thorough side kick tells me all those comments ( I love your page emoji emoji) and likes are apparently fair trade legit. Yes I hear you, but to what extent? Does the follower participate in organic ayurvedic oil pulling, and meditation before they press that little heart? Are they paid enough to keep up the macadamia milk in their lattes? We sure as shite know, that if somebody's gunna rent a crowd on social media, they're probs gunna be buying glyphosate on the down-low, and anybody dishing out likes to a pic of weedkiller for breakfast, even for award wage, is criminal. Here's your biodynamic slow-cooked morning tea, said no prison guard ever.

I'm new to the area from Europe and moved into a lovely local room in trade of work hours. Thing is, apart from the room, the rest of the house is actually being demolished, a working job site that often closes down due to weather and council regulations, so no work. Which means I have a big rent debt. My landlord is keeping my passport safe until I can pay it off, which makes looking for other work and accommodation so tricky. Help! - Backtrafficking

DEAR BACKTRAFFICKING, I hope that passport swipe includes bills and high speed wifi? It's funny you write in, because according to the ABS, fresh marginalised migrants are so hot right now when it comes to exploitation and abuse. But hopefully you can see how blessed you are to be in Byron Bay, and not that poor bloke being paid $324 a week to clean out crocodile cages and skin them for export handbags up north.

HEAVILY Meditated

TM

With Caitlin Cady

This week's mantra YOU DON’T NEED A PLAN.

I have great news. You don't have to know what you want to "do with your life." Or who you're going to be "when you grow up." You don't need a five-year plan. You just need to keep iterating. Iteration is the circular rhythm of personal evolution: experimentation, reflection, and refinement. Repeated as often as necessary. This repetition forms the path to those full-potential feels of freedom, fulfilment and joy. Planning can't give you those feelings. But iterating can. When you give yourself permission to iterate, you free yourself from the paralysis of perfectionism and the idea that you need to figure it out first. Instead, you get to try now. And figure out a better way next. Iteration is an invitation to follow your instincts, to take risks, be playful, and explore the edges of yourself. To see what's possible. And upgrade as you go. Through iteration, you forgive yourself from the debt of regret. Because there are no regrets in experimentation. Just discoveries. Your next step can never be a misstep if it's an iteration. And an iteration can never be a failure because failure is married to finality... and only death is final. So, in my book if you're iterating, you're succeeding. Remember - full potential isn't a destination someplace in the future. The opportunity to live to your full potential is now. Right now. In each moment. In each iteration. There's no award for who figured their shit out first, or had the best plan, or held their job down longest, or met their soul mate soonest. No need to freak out about what you want to do with your life or where you're going to end up. Just figure out what you're going to do next. Planning is overrated. Iteration is where it's at. Experiment. Reflect. Refine. Repeat.

Will your business make the most of summer? Deadlines for our popular festive December and January issues are rapidly approaching.

from her unbelievably funny instagram recreations of celebrity posts. She takes the piss out of the rich, famous and glamorous. Over the years she has gained a large following (a casual 5 million people) , including the celebrities themselves. In her autobiography we see a different side to the Australian comedian. A side where we learn about being bullied for her dyslexia, how she met her husband and her argument as to why instagram is a blessing as well as a curse.

getting hotter. It’s really annoying. Sometimes I set my alarm for the middle of the night just to wake up and look at him - not because I’m a hopeless romantic but more because I want to catch him off guard. I hope to roll over at 3 am and see that he’s actually one of those people who sleep with their eyes half open, sporting a double chin, and has a nose covered in whiteheads along with an uneven jawline. But no, he’s divine. He sleeps with his eyes closed, there are no secret night-time pimples (he gets pimple breakouts BEHIND HIS EARS!), and he even has a small smile on his sleeping face.”

Q&A A Q U IC K C H

A T W IT H .. .

Sarah Swan @100MILETABLE

HOW DID YOU GET THE NAME 100MILETABLE ANYWAY? It’s

all about the sourcing of local produce (within 100 miles) and sharing food around a table. I can thank my mate Crommy for the name. BEST MEAL YOU’VE EVER EATEN? Toro (tuna belly) raw, on warm sushi rice at Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo. The door lady was mean but the food beyond compare. It was 2007 and it was breakfast. A close runner up is braised beef cheek at La Cuchara de San Telmo in San Sebastian, maybe 2004? GIVE US THE 10 BEST CHEESE PLATTER INGREDIENTS? Why so many??? That’s absurd! 2 great cheeses, quince, Byron Bay crackers (seedy little bites of goodness) and a good bottle of wine. I select Roquefort and an aged Comte – I’m unpasteurised at heart. HOW DO YOU KEEP HEALTHY? Ha. What? Oh, ok…I eat well (wholefood style), exercise and enjoy life. I do need to drink more water though. RUNNING A BUSINESS IS….? Challenging and immensely satisfying. I have an awesome business partner, a wonderfully supportive husband and the BEST staff…so really, it’s super fun. It’s also exhausting and stressful but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Tricky Trivia Answers

1. A, DE BEERS'. 2. B, SPANKO. 3. B, 4G COVERAGE.

4. TRUE. 5. A, SWEDEN.

I WANT THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME BOOT SCOOTIN’ SONG RECOMMENDATIONS? I was hoping there wouldn’t be a question like this… The Chain - Fleetwod Mac. Californication - Chilli Peppers. It Wasn’t Me - Shaggy (I warned you!)

AS A SUCCESSFUL HUMAN BEING, BUSINESS AND LEISURE THAT IS, GIVE THE MILLENNIALS OUT THERE SOME GOOD HARD STERN ADVICE? Find what you love, grab it and

work hard. Hard work brings rewards and a sense of satisfaction. Plus, respect your peers, be kind. I suggest you get to 100miletable café pronto, as the bacon butties are hot property!
