LOOKING FOR STAFF? WE CAN HELP!

a w n e r e a e K D om AncienTHtE Wisd er Grain Moth FR OM

DEAR KEENWA, I've suffered from narcissism (self-diagnosed) most of my life; and have tried acupuncture, medication, a biodynamic diet, and therapy seven days a week, but to no avail. My higher self is guiding me to try shelving crystals. I don't mean the wooden hipster handcrafted kind. I am hoping they will draw out all the negative energy inside me to return to the bowels of the earth as compost. I did bake fifty or so under the last full moon that are ready to be inserted. Any other tips for me? - Colonic Eclipse

DEAR COLONIC ECLIPSE, Bioavailability is something we take seriously here in The Shire, and the pros of the booty bump are many. No track marks, or lung damage, and you can treat on the run. Just remember to breathe out as they go in, and say your mantras an extra 40 times for fullbodied alignment.

DEAR KEENWA,

BOOKING DEADLINE - MIDNIGHT MONDAY - PUBLISHED THURSDAY

To book call 0487 003 765 or email hello@byronbazaar.com

PigHouse Flicks is shut! Nooooooooo! I still remember the scent of patchouli oil on my first crush's decollete, circa '95. I swear I could still smell it on those chillax vintage cushions down at the front to this day. Not to mention the hand-delivered hot popcorn. We have lost A Byron icon, any ideas on how to keep it alive and running? - Cinemaddict

DEAR CINEMADDICT, Even though this joint was the first host of the Blues and Roots Festival, it was also a vegan's Nightmare on Elm Street at times. It was originally a piggery back in the time when Wat-ai-goes was just Wategoes with a whale station, and sand mine, which brings up some painful memories for some folk. Whether you made out, pigged out, caught up on some shuteye, or had a stab at the 'ol popcorn trick, I agree, Pighouse Flicks will be sorely missed.

With Caitlin Cady

This week's mantra YOU BELONG EVERYWHERE.

If ever you are wondering where you fit in. If ever you are feeling like you don’t belong somewhere, know this:

3. TRUE. 4. C, DÉJÀ RÊVÉ.

5. B, 93,000 LITRES.

You belong because your blood and bones are made of the ashes of stars and the salt of the sea. And just like the salt and the stars you are of this universe. Derived of it. Returned to it. Inextricably connected to it. Undeniably a part of it.

Tricky Trivia Answers - Questions on page 13 1. B, 6 FOOT. 2. A, FLYTING.

You’re right. You don’t. You don’t belong somewhere. You belong everywhere.

And just as no one can contain the sea or the sky or the spirit, neither is your belonging a fixed proposition, conditional or contained. You belong to the universe. Your true belonging is universal. You belong everywhere. So act like it. Welcome yourself home... everywhere. All-of-you belongs every-where. After all, you are made of star dust and salt and spirit.

Tarotscopes WEEKLY TAROT FORECAST

WE ARE STILL BETWEEN ECLIPSES, WHICH

can be a tension-loaded time, and Mercury, the messenger, is retrograde which may add extra challenges. Whatever happens this week, breathe deeply before you react, be as patient as possible and remember that things might get clearer in weeks to come. On Thursday the Sun in Cancer trines Neptune; this is a great day to soothe your soul with your favourite creative project or spend some time in nurturing nature to daydream… Mercury retrograde and Mars are still fused together in Leo and form a fire trine with Chiron. Here is an inspiration and motivation to live healthier, exercise more and meditate on inner peace. This may counterbalance impatience and anger-outbursts that loom due to a Mars/Uranus square which is exact on Friday. The weekend is overshadowed by a Sun/Pluto opposition (exact midnight Sunday to Monday). Inner tension and an overly defensive attitude may lead to a power struggle with an important person in your life. Try to be aware of your strong emotions and if necessary take time out. From this time onwards we are entering a pressure-cooker time with a grand finale on the Full Moon in Capricorn on Wednesday. This eclipse holds the signature of great friction, opposition and separation (Venus in Cancer opposite Saturn in Capricorn, plus Sun/Pluto/Moon opposition very close to it). You may be able to see this partial lunar eclipse in the early morning hours before sunrise from 6:00 to 6:40 a.m. with the Moon, eclipsed by the shadow of the earth, on the western horizon. For the bigger picture read your Sun, Moon and Rising signs. A Tarot card is drawn for each astrological sign.

g ARIES

Even though there is so much tension in the air, the Prince of Cups promises good news and maybe even romantic times. If you focus on what you can give to your nearest and dearest and move beyond ego and vanity to dive deeply into unconditional love and acceptance, your week is extremely rewarding.

h TAURUS

The 4 of Wands symbolises a time of endings and new beginnings and it is in total synchronicity with the eclipse on Wednesday. Make sure you complete what you are finishing with due diligence, even though you may get very excited about all the new possibilities that are appearing right in front of you.

i GEMINI

The 6 of Cups is a very beneficial card. It opens your heart so that you generate goodwill in every moment and have faith in the future. You may be motivated to assist others, who might be struggling, and you can be a beacon of light for your family and friends. Spending time with children is very rewarding.

j CANCER

The Princess of Disks symbolises the creative force of the goddess in her gestation phase. Most of your important work happens on the inside during this time and the eclipse may have a big impact on you and/or your family. Trust your inner voice and don’t rush into things, before the time is ripe.

BY GISELA

k LEO

The 3 of Swords indicates an emotionally upsetting time, during which you may judge yourself severely or you get lost in regret. If old pain and disappointment surface and inflame the problems you encounter right now, focus on how to release some of these old burdens, so that you may find a new and brighter perspective.

l VIRGO

The 10 of Wands appears when you realise that you have been overextending yourself. It is up to you to relieve yourself from oppressive patterns and thoughts that make you take on extra burdens. You can’t afford to wait for someone else to set you free.

a LIBRA

The 10 of Disks teaches how outer success and inner selfworth are interconnected, dependent and often causal. The more you visualise your total inner alignment with the principles of prosperity and abundance, the more it flows towards you because you are sure you deserve it.

b SCORPIO

The 6 of Swords suggests that a group effort is needed with everyone involved working together to overcome difficulties. Trust the power of concentrated teamwork and assist, where possible, in pulling people and ideas together.

c SAGITTARIUS

The 9 of Cups is often called the wish card. Before your biggest wish can come true you must be 100% sure about what it is that you want. It is a matter of the heart, and the mind has to align with it, not vice versa, therefore don’t overthink it.

d CAPRICORN

The Ace of Swords gifts you with great clarity and you may be blessed with new insight and understanding about your current situation. Your objective analysis may help to resolve misunderstandings and power struggles with others.

e AQUARIUS

The Fool Tarot card appears when you are ready for a new beginning. You feel it deep in your heart as spontaneous outpourings of life-energy that want to flow into a different direction. Trust your heart’s desire and dive into the mystery and adventure of the unknown.

f PISCES

With the Magician Tarot card drawn, you have the power to create magical results. Be very clear about what you want to achieve, then focus all your skills on one matter and communicate in a way that captures your audience.

This week's review TITLE: Diving into Glass AUTHOR: Caro Llewellyn

WHAT IT'S ABOUT: A deeply personal memoir by the

immensely gifted and brave writer Caro Llewellyn, that charts her intense relationship with her wheelchair bound father and then her own life challenge – the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Compelling from the first page...and uplifting.

WHICH CHARACTER IN THE BOOK WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO MEET AND WHY: I am very lucky to count Caro as a friend and mentor. I was working with her at Sydney Writers’ Festival when her dad died - I would dearly love to have met him. I already had an impression of him as the most extraordinary man from the stories Caro had shared with me; reading her memoir confirms that.

TELL THE READERS A SECRET THEY MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU: I’m left handed? WHAT INSPIRED THE HYPNAGOGIC MURAL THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED FOR THE SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS FESTIVAL ENTRANCE TUNNEL? Well it’s a more illustrated scene from my Splendour poster artwork. I guess I was inspired by the people walking through it to and from the festival and the experience they might have passing through. I hope people enjoy it. YOU LIKE TO BLEND MUSIC AND ART - HOW DO THEY COMPLEMENT ONE ANOTHER IN YOUR WORKS? Well yeah I do when I am working on a tour poster or an album cover. I think music can be the sound to any visual art and vice versa. BEING RAISED IN FORSTER, YOU CAN BE CLAIMED AS A LOCAL. WHAT DO YOU THINK BYRON NEEDS MORE (OR LESS) OF? Less pot holes. COMPLETE THIS SENTENCE - "I LOVE …….." colour, and like to use it in my art. WHAT ELSE SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR AT SPLENDOUR? Art wise, there are a heap of awesome installations happening by a bunch of rad artists. YOU HAVE SAID REG MOMBASSA WAS / IS AN INSPIRATIONAL INFLUENCE. WHO OR WHAT ELSE INSPIRES YOU? Many artists inspire me, hard to name them all. The people around me, especially those that are creative. Every day does too and conversations also.
