Agreement Signed Between PEO STRI and MEDCOM for Established Presence of the Army Office of the Surgeon General Within Team Orlando by Terri Bernhardt

Ken Wheeler, Assistant Program Executive Officer for Business Operations, Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Army Office of the Surgeon General (OTSG), Medical Command, to accommodate a team of OSTG members at PEO STRI offices in Research Park. Engineers Participate in Unique Test and Evaluation Training Courtesy of NAWCTSD Public Affairs

The Introduction to Aircraft and Systems Test and Evaluation Short Course provided a unique training opportunity for 32 engineers at Since recent Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) mass Orlando. FLETC’s Kuykendall Looks for Opportunities to Utilize Existing Training By Dolly Rairigh Glass

Jason Kuykendall serves as a Training Specialist/Program Manager from the Glynco Training Directorate’s Training Research Office assigned to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Orlando Technology Integration and Simulation Team. FLETC established their Orlando office in March 2005, with the partnership between FLETC and NAVAIR (Orlando) going back to 2004. Kuykendall joined the office in June 2012. READ MORE

UCF’s Emergency Management office offers a variety of classes and tools to help ease worries and anxieties about criminal activity in the area. Ari Schein, Emergency Management training and exercises coordinator, said he’s seen an increase in interest in the active shooter preparedness class in particular. Click HERE to read the article

DAU Senior Fellowship Meets with Team Orlando By Terri Bernhardt

In January, Defense Acquisition University’s (DAU) Senior Service College Fellowship Program (SSCF), an Army Acquisition Corps program, visited Team Orlando to receive a capabilities overview. The meetings were spread over two days with briefings from Team Orlando members providing a deeper look into the modeling, simulation and training programs. READ MORE

CONSTRUCTIVE – The Leader for Providing Constructive and Integrated Simulation Environments By Rick Gregory, APEO Business Operations Support Staff

For years, military commanders have had to rely on a big table, lots of sand and little figures representing Soldiers, equipment and the lay of the land when conducting training for their units. The command staff would be huddled around the sand table, moving the friendly and opposing forces with their hands as they learned through radio communications how the mission was progressing. It was constructive simulation at its primitive stage.

National Center for Simulation Board Elects New Officers David Manning is the newly elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Center for Simulation (NCS), a non-profit trade association whose vision is to be the recognized leader in supporting and expanding the modeling and simulation community. Entering his second term as Chairman, Manning has served on the NCS board since October 2009 and is the owner of StrategyONE Services, a consulting company in Orlando. READ MORE
