Once again, Team Orlando participated in the Orlando Science Center’s Otronicon event. Otronicon is a four-day technology experience and is one of the largest events of the year for the Orlando Science Center. Team Orlando’s participation demonstrates their ongoing collaborative outreach efforts in the Greater Orlando area.

PM TRASYS’ Bushika Always Wanted to Serve By Dolly Rairigh Glass
A native of the small town of Florida, in the mountains of northwestern Massachusetts, Martin Bushika said it must have been his destiny that he would one day make the move to Florida, the state. As his school’s Valedictorian, Bushika was excited to be accepted to the Naval Academy, where he studied Electrical Engineering with the ‘great class of 1978,’ and graduated top in his class, giving him first choice on Service Selection, which for Bushika was the submarine community.

Industry Capability Day Great Benefit For All Parties By Dolly Rairigh Glass
Looking at additional opportunities to bring industry and Team Orlando members together to share in clever innovations and new partnerships, twelve companies participated in the first ever Team Orlando Industry Capability Day hosted by the National Center for Simulation (NCS) on Jan. 30. The half-day event allowed these companies to showcase any new and exciting capabilities for acquisition and professional personnel from all Team Orlando commands in an environment that was inviting and comfortable, and a venue right in their backyard.
Team Orlando Supports Future Scientists and Engineers Volunteers from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s Human Research Directorate, Simulation and Training Technology Center (ARL-HRED STTC), the Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) and the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWC‐TSD) served as judges at the Seminole County Regional Science Fair.

Team Orlando Supporting STEM Day at the Capitol By Dolly Rairigh Glass
Team Orlando STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Advocate, Benn Aaronson, will take part in the first ever STEM Day at the Capitol, March 5, at the Capitol Building in Tallahassee. The Orlando Science Center, which partners with Team Orlando on various STEM efforts, is coordinating the group that will travel to the state’s capital for the event, as a means of communicating to Florida’s lawmakers the many impactful ways that the excitement and opportunity of STEM are being presented to our youth.

National Center for Simulation to Honor Hall of Fame Inductees By Dolly Rairigh Glass
The National Center for Simulation has announced its inaugural class of inductees for the NCS Modeling and Simulation Hall of Fame, whom will be inducted at a special ceremony on March 26 at the Orange County Convention Center. The Hall of Fame will be a part of the M&S Center of Excellence that will be permanently housed at the OCCC in space that was donated by Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs, in partnership with OCCC leadership.
According to sources at UCF, the Partnership III building was built to meet the silver level of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. LEED is aimed at improving energy savings, water efficiency, carbon dioxide emissions reduction and indoor environmental quality.

DAU’s Senior Service College Fellowship Program Visits Team Orlando By Terri M. Bernhardt
In late January, the DAU Senior Service College Fellowship (SSCF) program returned to Team Orlando with a new class of senior civilian acquisition leaders to introduce them to Team Orlando’s military organizations and capabilities surrounding modeling, simulation and training.
