Paint with threads and create a Lavender Scene
This
You can almost smell the flowers with this delightful lavender fields landscape! Though it looks intricate, it's really not! The design only uses three stitches, along with coloured organza to create both background colour and texture.

Helping Hand
◆ Don’t worry if some of the green organza background fabric shows through in areas E through K
1 Mount the printed background in the embroidery hoop. Tack or pin the piece of green organza over the fields of lavender, ensuring that the organza comes just above the distant fields C and D (refer to the lettered chart in the kit for details [1]). When the distant fields are stitched, the organza will be held in place.
I: small groups of French knots In No. 9 (3s) worked in curved lines to emulate groups of plants. Small bunches of straight stitches in No. 4 (1s).
J: random cross stitches in No. 7 (3s). Decrease stitches in size towards the distance as per the photo.
K: French knots in No. 6 (3s).
L: fill field with folded small pieces of light purple coloured organza. Cut small squares
Leaves: stitch over leaf printed lines using straight stitches in Nos. 1, 2 and 3 all 3s. Add more stitches crossing over in different directions. Then fill in the gaps with more organza flowers in dark purple and loose French knots in No. 8 (6s) [4] Scatter some sequins amongst the flowers.
5 Continue as follows: Lavender row on right: Repeat as for left side for leaves and flowers using the lighter purple organza and groups of French knots in No. 9 (3s) going smaller into the distance.
◆ You can either pin the organza to the background or, tack it to the fabric. The tacks are removed at the end of the project
◆ If you wish to frame your masterpiece in a square frame, ensure that the aperture in the mount board is no larger than 10cm x 10cm otherwise bare fabric will show through
◆ To make French knots ‘loose’ do not pull the thread tight around the needle. When you pull the excess thread through the fabric do not pull too tight and this will give a ‘loose’ effect to the knot
