Hanging sign

Kit List

◆ Brother ScanNCut

◆ Wooden hanging sign

◆ Vinyl: sage green, silver

◆ Weeding tool

◆ Smoothing tool

◆ Transfer tape

1 In Brother Canvas Workspace, set out the template the same size of the sign, so you know the guidelines that you’re working within.

2 Download an Easter egg font, a bunny SVG file and a paw print SVG file online.

3 Create a rectangle for the top panel to cover most of the wood. Then using Comic Sans font add the name of the person the sign is for.

4 Using the Easter egg font, add the words Easter Egg Hunt so they fit in the other panels as shown.

5 Import the bunny SVG file, resize and position in the corner next to the word Egg. Then add the paw print SVG file and copy and paste so there are enough paw prints to look like the bunny has hopped to the corner, as shown.

6 Using the shapes within the workspace, add the two ends of the arrows so that they go through the word Hunt.

7 Cut the rectangle shape for the top part onto silver vinyl. Cut the rest of the elements on the sage green vinyl.

8 Weed all of the elements then transfer them onto the clear transfer tape, smoothing them out as you do. Then place them onto the hanging sign and fix them in place using a smoothing tool. Peel back the transfer tape.

Hunt markers

Kit List

◆ Card stock: pale pink glitter; orange pearlescent; gold; cream

◆ Alphabet stamps

◆ Black ink pad

◆ Adhesives: foam pads, glue, tape

◆ Craft sticks

◆ White mini pom-pom

1 Download SVG files online for an egg, bunny and chick. Import them into Brother Canvas Workspace. Re-size them to be the same height – ours are 15cm tall.

2 Cut out each shape from the different colours of card then fix each one onto a craft stick using tape.

3 Stamp a clue or instruction onto strips of cream card. Fix them onto each element using foam pads.

4 Glue the pom-pom on the bunny where the tail should be.

Helping Hand

◆ To save time you can print out the sentiments instead of stamping them

◆ Why not use different colours or glittered vinyl on the sign for a more colourful effect?

◆ You could use garden twigs rather than craft sticks for the markers

◆ There are many free fonts and SVG shapes to download online, from sites such as dafont.com and lovesvg.com

◆ If you want additional Easter-inspired markers, you might like to download flower, lamb, cross, candle, carrot, hen, egg basket or butterfly SVG shapes online
