am at heart an eclectic, drawing inspiration from history, travel and imagination,” says Richard Manion, president of Richard Manion Architecture. “I grew up in New England, but have lived in Los Angeles since 1987, so I enjoy designing residences inspired by the great houses of the U.S. and Europe.” Manion has garnered an international reputation for his interpretations of historical architectural styles, from Mediterranean to Colonial Revival to Streamline Moderne. The firm is also working on an increasing number of streamlined classical and contemporary projects that are tailored to the more informal lifestyle of his clients. “Our main goal is to deliver an even better version of their home than the one that they envisioned,” Manion says of his clients. Richard Manion Architecture’s current portfolio includes residential commissions in California, Hawaii and New York, as well as overseas commissions in Singapore and the Middle East.
