Thomas and Sarah milk under the prefix ‘Meadow Lynn” alongside Thomas’ parents Fred and Sharon in Simcoe, Ontario. They are currently milking 55 registered Jerseys, with a herd number of approximately 120 head. They built a new compost pack barn in 2013 with a double 5 parlour, it was then expanded in 2017 and a robotic system was added in 2022.

Both Thomas and Sarah are heavily involved in the community. Thomas is a member of multiple Norfolk agricultural clubs and committees. He is currently the 2nd Vice President of the Brant-Norfolk and Golden Horsehoe Jersey clubs. Sarah, on top of being a certified Nutrient Management Specialist, runs a Community Supported Agricultural business that distributes weekly veggie boxes and offers workshops on canning and sustainable preservation.

The “Who let the Cows out?” event that occurs annually every Spring started as a family tradition, but now has become a staple Meadow Lynn community event. It helps expose consumers to the dairy business and assists in educating the public about dairy operations.

They have accomplished so much so far and have demonstrated great knowledge, leadership and passion for the Jersey breed and agriculture.

Thomas et Sarah Judd produisent sous le préfixe ‘Meadow Lynn’ avec les parents de Thomas, Fred et Sharon, chez Meadow Lynn Farms à Simcoe, ON. Ils ont présentement 55 Jerseys enregistrées en lactation et le troupeau s’élève à environ 120 animaux. Une nouvelle étable sur litière compactée fut érigée en 2013 avec un salon double 5, étable qui fut agrandie en 2017 et un robot fut ajouté en 2022.

Thomas et Sarah sont grandement engagés dans leur communauté. Thomas est membre de plusieurs clubs agricoles de Norfolk. Thomas est membre de plusieurs clubs et comités agricoles de Norfolk. Il est présentement 2e vice-président des clubs Jerseys Brant-Norfolk et Golden Horsehoe. Sarah gère une entreprise agricole supportée par la communauté qui distribue hebdomadairement des boîtes de légumes et offre des ateliers sur les conserves et sur la préservation équitable.

L’événement « Who let the Cows out? » qui se tient annuellement chaque printemps a commencé comme une tradition familiale et est devenu un événement communautaire incontournable de Meadow Lynn. Cet événement aide à exposer les consommateurs au secteur laitier et aide à éduquer le public au sujet des entreprises laitières.

Ils ont accompli beaucoup jusqu’à maintenant et ont démontré une grande connaissance, du leadership et de la passion pour la race Jersey et l’agriculture.
