D2E Youth Theatre Autumn Term Come And Join The Fun! New Members Always Welcome… Following their sell-out production of ‘West Side Story’ in the spring, this autumn D2E will be performing three devised, mini-plays as part of The Gravity Fields Arts and Science Festival as well as taking part in exciting processional finale around the town. They will also be taking part in the ‘Something Wonderful’ week in October, presenting a devised piece following a workshop inspired by performance artists Raisin and Willow. We’re excited to announce that D2E will also be holding auditions during the Autumn term for their next major production Footloose, which will be taking place in April 2013. This will be followed by a fun and modern interpretation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Summer Term. There’s so much going on, we can hardly contain our excitement! Revolting Rhymes: Little Red Riding Hood and Three Little Pigs. Both works are based on the outstanding and internationally recognised musical scores by composer Paul Patterson. Ballet Cymru bring to life these timeless stories using their unique blend of classical technique and storytelling, featuring choreography by Creative Wales Award winner Darius James and sets/costumes by internationally recognised designer Steve Denton. This year’s programme will be ‘Naked Byrd’, very popular with music clubs and festivals across the UK, acclaimed by many critics and selected as the Gramophone Critic’s choice for 2011. Includes Allegri, Miserere Mei and Byrd, Ave Verum, and will feature the wonderful Armonico sound. This concert should prove to be very appropriate for the Festive Season and, we hope, popular with and enjoyed by the audience.

For Christmas we offer a little bit of fantasy by one of the greatest experts in the English language – J.R.R. Tolkien. Rather than the ponderous trilogy ‘The Lord of the Rings’ let’s just keep company with one little Hobbit. The Newton Room & Studio 4 These rooms can accommodate smaller functions and meetings. The Newton Room is situated on the ground floor and can be used for small performances, parties, lectures, sales and meetings and is also licensed for civil ceremonies, seating up to 50 people. Studio 4, situated on the second floor with lift access, can comfortably seat up to 25 people for meetings and lectures.

Accessed through the grand front entrance and up the sweeping staircase, or via the lift, this versatile space can be set up to suit your individual needs. The Ballroom can hold up to 200 people for a party and 120 seated at tables and has a small stage (optional), sprung dance floor, licensed bar and sound and lighting equipment. Adjacent is the function kitchen which can be hired for use by certified caters.
