I CAN RELATE TO THE QUOTE, “Whoever said that diamonds are a girl’s best friend never had a dog.” I cannot remember a time of my life when I haven’t had a dog. And to this day when my family gathers, the dogs almost outnumber the humans. Whether you’re a cat, dog, guinea pig, or fish person, it’s always a treat to come home to a loving companion at the end of a long day. I can’t remember ever meeting a dog I didn’t like, and I think the feeling has been mostly mutual. When our cover stars and local celebrity pups, Ruby Rose and Emma Grace, came into our studio, they immediately melted all our hearts. As you can see in my editor’s photos, we became fast friends. And once the ice cream cake came out, the deal was sealed. I mean, who doesn’t want someone that looks at you like those pups are eyeing that cake?! You can meet them and more celebrity pets on page 59. Also in this issue, you’ll see we expanded one of your reader favorites: The Pet Parade. The response we got this year was overwhelming, and who are we to leave anyone out? Enjoy all of those cute fur babies (and even a scaly one) starting on page 67. So let the “awwws” commence because — trust me — there are some fun pictures ahead. Enjoy!
