RESCUING ALEXANDRA
More
Saving a woman from a painful death
Alexandra is no longer suffering!
The bleeding wouldn’t stop, and the pain was growing worse. Alexandra went to a clinic near her home in Haiti to see what could be done and learned that she had an abdominal mass known as a fibroma. There was only one solution: immediate surgery. But the operation was expensive, and Alexandra couldn’t pay for it. Without the surgery, Alexandra’s pain worsened. She struggled to breathe, continually fainted, and could barely walk. She knew that if 2 frontlines
she didn’t do something, she would perish from her condition. Then, she reached out to a local Christian organization that put her in contact with Life-Changing Surgeries through CBN’s Operation Blessing. Thanks to the kindness of partners like you, she received the surgery she urgently needed—and is now on the road to recovery.

Through your help, he found more than just shelter at the center; he found a loving and caring home. John Paul has special needs and learning can be a challenge, but thanks to Orphan’s Promise and the extra assistance he receives, he is now thriving in school. Abel found Christ through Superbook!
Abel was confused because her parents had different religions. “When I was about 6 years old,” she explained, “I knew that my mom and dad were different in their faith.” One day, she went to church with her mother. During Sunday school, she watched a cartoon that drew her in—and she wanted to know more.
“I couldn’t wait to learn about the next Bible story from Superbook,” she said. “That’s what kept me coming back!” After watching the story of Jesus and Lazarus, Abel asked Christ into her heart, and she happily shared what she learned with her father. Jhonatan in Guatemala
Jhonatan suffered constant abdominal pain for two months. The young boy was losing weight
and could not enjoy the things he was used to doing. He was diagnosed with a hernia, but his parents could not afford an operation. The surgery would cost a fraction of the fee it would take for such a procedure here in the U.S., but the family did not have the resources to cover this expense. Thanks to compassionate CBN partners, Jhonatan was able to receive the operation he needed through CBN’s Operation Blessing at no cost to his family, and this precious boy is no longer in pain!
Angel in Peru
More
Angel lives in a remote village in Peru. He works hard to provide for his children and wants them to have a good education. Unfortunately, getting his kids to school is a struggle. “I take my children every morning to school, sometimes I take them by walking or on a motorcycle. It is a half hour from my house to the populated area,” said Angel. “It can get cold. They can get sick, and that is bad for the children. It is complicated to live in the countryside.”
that didn’t truly meet the children’s educational needs. When CBN’s Operation Blessing team in Peru heard about the situation, they thought this would be the perfect opportunity for a new school project! Thanks to friends like you, they worked with the community to build a special new octagonal classroom building. This shape would offer the little kids plenty of space to learn and play while still keeping them safe and warm in the chilly highlands. “We are thankful to Operation Blessing for all of this building process,” said Angel. “It is beautiful. Now our kids will learn today and, in the future, become leaders. God bless you!”

CBN NEWS: HEALTHY LIVING
HAVING TROUBLE LOSING WEIGHT?
It might not be your fault
When Dr. Sara Gottfried wanted to shed a few pounds, she and her husband decided to try the ketogenic diet, better known as “keto.” Her husband successfully lost 20 pounds—but Sara gained weight. She realized that the diet didn’t account for women’s hormones. “It really took me doing my own research … and then trying this keto adapted for women on my own patients to see what we need in place to really help to balance your hormones,” Dr. Gottfried explained. What she discovered was a three-part process. “It starts with detoxification, then nutritional ketosis, and finally, intermittent fasting.” In order to detoxify the body, Dr. Gottfried recommends eating cruciferous vegetables, like cabbage, broccoli, radishes, cauliflower, onions, leeks, garlic, etc.
To reach nutritional ketosis, Dr. Gottfried recommends that you get “70% of your calories from healthy plant-based fat, about 20% of your calories from lean, healthy protein, and then the remainder, 25 net carbs or less per day.” This will keep your thyroid functioning and will help with sleep. Finally, Dr. Gottfried recommends intermittent fasting. She explained, “You might finish eating at 8 p.m. and then eat again the next day at 10 a.m., so that allows you to have a 14-hour overnight fast. That’s the period of time that’s been shown to be the best in terms of resetting insulin.” To help women balance their hormones and lose weight, Dr. Gottfried wrote the book Women, Food, and Hormones: A 4-Week Plan to Achieve Hormonal Balance, Lose Weight, and Feel Like Yourself Again. Be sure to consult with your doctor before making any dietary changes.

YOUR QUESTIONS, HONEST ANSWERS WITH PAT ROBERTSON
Q
Please clarify the Bible verse that says, For many are called, but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14 nkjv ). Who is actually called, and who is actually chosen?
A
I think Jesus is talking about salvation. The Word of God goes out through television programs like The 700 Club. I hope that over the course of time, millions of people around the world watch—and continue to watch. However, when we offer an invitation to receive Christ, they do not all respond. So many people have grown up in church. They heard the preaching. They have heard the message. They had the anointing of the Holy Spirit when they were listening, but they turned it down. And there are so many who have Bibles but do not read them. Remember, many are called, but few accept the call. Watch The 700 Club for more questions and answers from Pat Robertson.

THE LOVE THAT WORKS MIRACLES Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever. - Psalm 136:4 nlt
by Gordon Robertson President and CEO
How wonderful to know that God shows no partiality or favoritism. As Acts 10:34 says, God is no respecter of persons. What He has done for others, He wants to do for you. You don’t have to convince God or bargain with Him for what you need. You simply have to realize that Jesus loves you so much that He died for you. He wants to bless and heal you. When you have that realization, an abundance of miracles can happen! Psalm 107:20 declares, He sent His word and healed them. Who is the Word? The answer is found in John 1:14, The Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness (nlt). The Word is Jesus! Because of His great love for us, the Word became flesh and lived among us. The Word took our sins and carried them away, separating us from our sins as far away as the east is from the west.
The Word justifies us—as if we had never sinned. This is why Hebrews 4:16 tells us, Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Jesus Himself bore our infirmities and took them away. And 1 Peter 2:24 assures us that by His stripes we were healed. That’s what He has already done. The Word came. He lived. He died for you and me. We were healed by His wounds. Yet He didn’t stop there. On the third day He was raised from the dead. These are not some wishful hopes. These are facts. And here’s another fact: That same resurrection power is available to you today. So let’s leave everything else behind and believe. And when we do, wonderful things can happen. God bless you! Excerpted from The 700 Club. Scripture is quoted from the NKJV except as noted.
