• Our office in French Africa received an award from YouTube for surpassing over 100,000 subscribers on their French Superbook channel.

LATIN AMERICA

• Superlibro, CBN’s Spanish-language version of Superbook, recently began a sponsorship program utilizing Superbook Academy discipleship material. With contributions from donors, CBN is helping churches with very limited resources with teaching materials. Donors can also sponsor a church that they can nominate to be a part of this project. Superlibro is excited to join the mission of bringing more children to know the love of Jesus through this exciting new program.

INDIA

• To help address COVID-19’s negative impact on education in India, CBN’s Orphan’s Promise organized several community trainings at our School of Life centers in Delhi to help our teams track each child’s progress in reading and mathematics. Also, we have incorporated the Superbook curriculum into School of Life with very positive results.

EXTENDING HELP WHERE NEEDED MOST

After years in the workplace, Valentina and her husband looked forward to a peaceful retirement. But Ukraine didn’t offer the financial security they longed for. So the couple settled in Israel, where they could live more comfortably.

Their future seemed set until Valentina’s husband passed away due to severe illness. Now a widow, Valentina found it especially difficult to support herself on her strict budget. And as time went on, she suffered from her own health issues.

But thanks to caring friends like you, this desperate senior didn’t have to face life alone.

Through CBN Israel, Valentina received helpful vouchers for food, medicine, and other essentials. Her living room was also furnished with a brand-new couch.

Jon had proudly served 21 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. When he retired, he began working as a physical therapist assistant. However, he and his wife, Jenny, didn’t expect the extra $600 each month they had to pay for medical insurance. This was a strain on their finances, especially when medical bills heightened due to the much-needed surgeries for their special-needs son.

Jon and Jenny fell behind on their mortgage and were looking at foreclosure.

Twelve-year-old Artyom in Armenia experienced tragedy too early in life when his dad was killed in a car accident. After that Artyom, his mother, and his two older brothers had only each other to look after. Together, this close-knit family moved in with Artyom’s grandmother and many other relatives. was excited that her kids could attend youth services at church and summer camp while she worked. But she was especially grateful for the love and support at the Orphan’s Promise training center. The Warm Winter project helped her family stay warm throughout the freezing winter months, and the School Backpack campaign offered much-needed supplies for the school year.

While Artyom attended lessons at the center, his outlook on life improved significantly. Not only did he make new friends, but he also got along better with his siblings. His relationship with

God progressed as well. During a church service, he welcomed Christ into his heart.

Artyom’s mother couldn’t be happier. “The Lord answered our need through you!” she exclaimed. Such inspiring stories continue with Ayama in South Africa.

This 3-year-old girl and her mother, Portia, had experienced the difficulties of life all too well. The two lived in a one-room shack with several other family members. It was difficult for Portia to find work with Ayama at her side, so she watched her sister’s children in exchange for groceries. There seemed to be no way out of this frustrating situation until a neighbor informed Portia of an Orphan’s Promise outreach called Life Child Preschool. There, Portia found friends to confide in.

“A weight was lifted off my shoulders,” Portia shared. “I felt relieved and at peace.”

While Ayama attended preschool classes, Portia found a job at a donut shop. Ayama enjoys the activities at her preschool, including worship time. She has even befriended a little girl named Princess. It was during

their time at Life Child Preschool that Portia and Ayama came to know Christ as their Savior.

Yuran’s story is just as heartwarming.

This young boy in Costa Rica is surrounded by deep poverty. Sadly, Yuran and his brother live without a father’s love. And their mother, who has been deaf since birth, struggles to communicate with her family and keep a stable job. But one day, their grandmother heard about an Orphan’s Promise project called Hope Bunker that offers a welcoming environment for families in need. At first, Yuran was very timid, but as time went on, he grew confident and enjoyed playing with other children. Yuran and his brother

also receive nutritious food, caring support, and Superbook lessons where they learn about Jesus. Yuran’s family is thankful for the dramatic changes they have seen in Yuran’s attitude and overall well-being.

Karina Nuñez, Orphan’s Promise Latin America Regional Manager, said, “Each time we see a smile on Yuran’s face, we know God is also smiling.”

These are just some of the unique and powerful ways you are brightening the future for children like Artyom, Ayama, and Yuran every day. But the needs are still great. Reboot your body to reverse aging

Can you really reverse the aging process in a dramatic way? Well, Dr. Michael Roizen, Chief Wellness Officer at Cleveland Clinic—and author of The Great Age Reboot: Cracking the Longevity Code for a Younger Tomorrow, his latest book—says yes!

“We now expect that 90 will be the new 40 within 10 years,” he states.

But what exactly does that mean—and how would that even be possible?

Dr. Roizen explains: “It means old age won’t be old. So, when you’re 90, you’re likely not to just slow aging over the next 10 years, but to get a reboot backward to a younger self.”

Sound too good to be true? He says he understands that concept might be hard to wrap our minds around. “It’s really why we wrote the book—because it takes people some time to think about it, to plan for,

both financially and in health, and then to actually understand what it means for them and their family.”

Emphasizing how important our daily choices are regarding nutrition and exercise, Dr. Roizen says to only eat food you love, “but only food you love that loves your body back.”

He also cites epigenetics, where specific genes are treated as “switches” that turn off what’s unhealthy in the body. “So, those switches that modify whether your genes are on or not, you turn those on, the good ones on, when you exercise.”

Should we take a day of rest on Saturday or Sunday?

QAJesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath” ( nkjv ). Can you imagine what it would be like if you had to work seven days a week, then turn around and work seven more days?

Look at society. Stores are open. TV is going. Everything is go, go, go. We have had more nervous breakdowns because we are not taking a day of rest.

The reason Sunday is known for the Sabbath is because it was the day of Jesus’ resurrection. But according to Jewish culture, the Sabbath started on Friday night and extended into Saturday. The idea that it has to be on a particular day is not the problem. Enjoying one day of rest is beneficial for all of us.

THE TENDER LOVE OF OUR SAVIOR

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. –1 John 3:16

It’s incredible to think how much God loves us. He is always with us and will never forsake us!

Sadly, some people can feel abandoned after going through conflict or crisis. They fall into destructive behavior patterns and then wonder, “Why am I doing this? I know this doesn’t work, but I feel compelled to do it.”

Yet you can have a life of love and feel cherished by your Maker despite anything you have experienced.

Jesus loves you tenderly, like a little child. He loves you so much that He chose to die for you. He loves you individually and seeks you out. He will leave the 99 other sheep in the flock and come just for the one—to find you— because He wants you to be with Him for all eternity.

He will melt your heart with all its hardness, wounds, and secret places you’ve walled off. He’s willing to do all of that because He loves you—tenderly.

Simply pray, “Jesus, please save me. I want to experience Your love. I want to know how tenderly You love me and how precious I am in Your sight. Open my eyes to see this truth. Open my ears to hear Your voice. Give me a heart of understanding that I may know the greatness of Your power and love toward me.”

Faith always works through love. And when you have that revelation of His love, you have everything you need.

So, no matter what you’ve gone through—all the rejection, struggle, strife, hurt, and pain—bring it to the cross and leave it at the feet of Jesus. And He says, “I will fix it. I love you. Look at what love has done.”
