HUMANITARIAN DEVELOPMENTS AROUND AFRICA

In July, we received confirmation that our application to drill a well in Swaziland has been approved. This is great news and means that at the moment we have many humanitarian projects underway in the following countries: Malawi, Uganda, South Sudan, Swaziland and South Africa. The Swaziland well project came about through our partnership with City Hope Disaster Relief.

Prayer Request Please pray for the planning and preparations around all these incredible projects.

AFRICA CREATIVE SUMMIT In June, the CBN Africa Communications team held its first Creative Communications Summit in our Cape Town regional office. Friends from our various CBN Africa offices flew to the Cape for an exploration of some new, inspiring, innovative and ground breaking topics around the communications and digital evangelism sphere. The Summit gave our team a platform to share ideas, and to discuss how we should be producing incredible Kingdom content. The team from CBN represents countries such as Zimbabwe, Senegal, South Africa, Nigeria, the US, Kenya and Ghana. Some of our workshops were lead by some significant and admirable leaders such as Mahlatse Mashua from Ravi Zacharias Ministries, Rob & Karin Schermbrucker from Slingshot Media, Timothy Gane from Private Label, Varsha Sherring and Richard Helsby from CBN digital unit in the CBN Virginia Beach office and our regional Director for Southern Africa, Ian Walton. It was an honour for us to host all these special people in one office, and to have the opportunity to pray over our continent of Africa for breakthrough to come. We are immensely blessed to carry this particular mandate, and will continue to move from Glory to Glory as God gives us grace to do so.

1000 DAYS PROGRAM

The 1000 days program had encouraged their clients and their extended families to be part of the holiday club program. They offer education, a meal and lots of fun. They were also able to highlight the vision of the project which is to assist and educate the community in ways to ensure child safety, the importance of good nutrition during pregnancy, breastfeeding and immunization compliance of the baby. Masiphumele breastfeeding counselors and moms and tots facilitators had seen a population boom and in the last few weeks have conducted many baby visits and among them being four sets on twins! The moms were shown how to breastfeed and care for their tiny newborn twins.

Prayer Request Please pray for the support group facilitators and counselors to be blessed with a vision for the need in the community and a heart to be able to love, comfort and care for those that they meet.

OP - LIFE CHILD Director of CBN Southern & East Africa, Ian Walton visited the Life Child Projects in Mozambique. He was able to meet with the leaders of the church and communities to share a communications presentation that highlighted "How do we take what's in our heart (The Gospel Message) and effectively put it into the minds of others because its not about what's been said but it's about what's been heard by others."

Prayer Request Please pray for the staff of CBN, that God would grant them wisdom and unity to serve in His kingdom.

The mission of CBN and its affiliated organizations is to prepare nations of the world for the coming of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth.

DURBAN PARTNER EVENT

HOSA PROJECT

This month HOSA has begun work on the long awaited Aquaponics expansion project. Work will commence with the dismantling of the old tunnel and aquaponics system. The tunnel and some of the existing equipment will be donated to another NGO, who will be using it for their projects. Once the tunnel is down, and the area cleared, the foundation will be laid for the structure, and surface beds and paving installed. From there construction of the structure will take place. We hope to have the foundations laid in the next three weeks. We want to thank CBN and their partners for their continued support, and we look forward to seeing this project take off.

CBN SA had its first partner event in Durban, South Africa on the 21st of July 2018. The event was attended by CBN's valuable partners. City Hill Church and City Hope were kind enough to host us and provide an amazing breakfast to everyone that attended. We were able to share with our partners all the exciting updates on the projects and the difference it's making in the lives of so many people. Some upcoming projects mentioned were the disaster relief feeding mission in South Sudan in partnership with City Hope and the mission of Superbook to get kids in schools introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We also has a chance to pray and fellowship which was very special. Prayer Request Please pray for all the CBN partners around the world.

S U P E R B O O K M Z A N S I

MANDELA DAY This Mandela Day the CBN SA team (+ Gizmo!) had the privilege of visiting the Mitchell’s Plain District Hospital in the children’s ward. We all watched the Superbook episode “ROAR” and got to spend time praying with and for the children and moms who were there. The doctors, nurses and hospital staff also joined as we screened the Superbook episode of Daniel. This particular episode teaches kids to stand up for what they believe in and the importance of prayer!

The Superbook Holiday Club was a huge success! Gizmo was very busy during the July school holidays. He was visiting some epic holiday clubs. Check out this video to see Gizmo with all his new special friends! https://www.facebook.com/SuperbookMzan si/videos/490326864740281 All because of your partnership CBN was able to reach a total of 1750 children from areas such as Gugulethu, Steenberg, Manenberg , Heideveld and Bonteheuwel through our partnership with Fikelela Aids Project.

Prayer Requests Pray that the children that watch Superbook will be built up in their faith to share the Gospel. Pray that families will take time to discuss the word of God and pray together as they watch the episodes of Superbook.

INSIDE CBN

CBN GHANA VISIT

In July, one of our team members in our communications department was sent to Accra, Ghana. The purpose of the journey was to help with training the new communications team member in the CBN Ghana team. It was also a continuation of the Creative Communications Summit, which was recently held in our Cape Town office. It was a special and fruitful time because two of our 700 Club Nigeria team members also met up with the Ghanaian team. We pray that the seeds will multiply where they have been sewn and for more synergy and unity between all the CBN Africa offices. The mission of CBN and its affiliated organizations is to prepare nations of the world for the coming of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth.
