the roadhouse rumble bike & car show

cc biker & motorsports newspaper poker run

May 12th 2018 was the Roadhouse Rumble Bike & Car Show & CC Biker Poker Run. This event was held by the owner of The Roadhouse Rhonda Haines and owner of CC Biker & Motorsports Newspaper. Richard Tilley.

By Joshua Roland Our first stop was The Skyline Club Bar & Grill owned and ran by John Grady and his fiancée Brynn. We thank you for allowing us to use your place as the starting point for our run. On this stop was the sign ups and the first round of the poker run Our Second stop was Christy’s Place located in Madera owned by Christy who we would like to thank for allowing us to use your place. Our third and final destination was The Roadhouse owned by Rhonda Haines in Clovis. The event went smoothly as everyone danced, drank and had fun. BBQ Tri-tip sandwiches were on the menu as people ate their fill, the evening moved on and the fun continued. Wonderful weather created the perfect environment for the ride through the mountains with a group of more than seventyfive bikers that enjoyed the trip. If you haven’t taken that amazing ride I suggest you do yourself a favor and put that on your bucket list. Curves that wind through the beautiful hills, gorgeous landscape fills your view and a cool breeze is a nice contrast from the smoldering valley floor. CC Biker & Motorsports would like to thank every single person that showed up, helped us out, or just participated in our event. We were so happy with the turnout of people and are looking forward to putting on more runs in the future. The showing of support from all the different motorcycle clubs is greatly appreciated and made the event one that every single rider, passenger or partier could

enjoy. Thank you to everyone that attended, and we can’t wait to see you all at events in the future. We would like to give her a big shout out and thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful establishment as our final spot and thank you for all your help. At The Roadhouse we had numerous vendors and raffle prizes, a couple of CC Biker and Motorsports Newspaper models were on hand to help us out as well and the band “Fire on the Mountain” kicking out excellent music and a lot of people having a good time. We would like to thank all that came out whether you rode or came to hang out and have a great time without you this run would not have been possible. Special thanks to the following for their donations to our raffle: The Waffle Shop, Sassano’s Mens Wear, Greg’s Woodworking, Clawson Motorsports, Moonshine Cycle, Mike’s Grill, Bobby Box of 92 Proof Tattoo, Ryan’s Place Restaurant (Hanford), HarleyDavidson of Fresno, Mathews Harley-Davidson, Cycle Gear (fresno), Nick & Carrie Lowe, The leoni Family and Lizet Ybarra Photography, Hillside Artistic Creations, The Naked Hut, Quantum Leap Sports, and Igy Wood Creations. And last but not least we would like to give a shout out and thank you to our vendors Journey of The Bullies, HotShotz, Jennifer Martinez of Home Made Jewelry, Beverly Patterson of Lipsence, Melanie Billups of Scentsy and Underlords M.C

May 19th 2018, showed to be a great day for the 50th Annual Bike show and Swap Meet at the Kings Fair grounds this past weekend was in full force. The crowds we abundant with bike enthusiasts of all ages. CC Biker and motorsports Newspaper was right up front with all the action. This year was one of the best turnouts in the last few years with both vendor and attendees. Doggie Diner was there providing food and drinks. We saw a lot of friendly faces as well as some new ones. They had bikes there from all parts of motorcycle history. My personal favorite was from 1928. They all were well maintained, and man did they rumble when fired up. There were vendors selling all numbers of item from new and used parts, motorcycles for sales, clothing and Hillside Artistic Creations was there selling home décor. The heat was also out, and a few vendors anticipated that and offered free water bottles to all. The MC was full of energy

and excitement for such a great turnout. Pancho Villa Riders MC, and Sierra Shadow Casters MC made an appearance as well. We had a few friendly faces stop by

the booth and say hello including Kelly Leoni. And of course, Harmony Hill, the boss, was there modeling one of our shirts.

page 3 or spend an evening playing just the right music for the mood. He could never say enough about how proud he was of his three children and their incredible talents. Richard had no love or passion stronger than that for his “good hearted woman”, partner in crime, and best friend, Theresa. She is the Bonnie to his Clyde, and they took each adventure life threw their way together as one. To know Richard was to know is love for her. He was always the first to admit he was better because she was his. Richard was a biker through and through. He loved to ride with his partner in crime/ride or die baby

On Sunday May 13th, 2018 Richard “Dick” Wright, Husband, Father, Son, Brother and life of the party, passed away. He is survived by his best friend and wife Theresa Wright, his oldest son Mason “Jay” Wright, his daughter Eva Wright, his youngest son Deacon Wright, brother Larry Wright, sister Nova

Wright, brother Richard “Scooter” Wells, father Richard Wells and many other friends and family members. He will join his mother Catherine Wright beyond the clouds. Richard was an avid lover of animals, music, motorcycles, and his wife and kids. He would never hesitate to rescue a stray

girl Theresa Wright and his band of brothers/sisters from the VCA. There wasn’t an adventure they wouldn’t take together, and they found a new passion for life when he met the VCA family. They, in turn, have never left him or his family since. There aren’t enough words to describe a “simple man” like Richard. He will be missed in more ways than he would have ever imagined. His life, legacy and love of sarcasm will live on in his wife, children, family and friends. We cheer you brother with a cold one in hand. Godspeed as you ride the highway to heaven. We love you. Cinco de Mayo with

pancho villa riders mc By Joshua Roland So, I realize there are many ways you can look up the difference between a motorcycle rider and a M.C rider on the internet. In my first hand experience a motorcycle rider only rides here and there and occasionally rides with a few friends and goes to shows here and there and has no ties to the community. The M.C rider rides every day, goes to mostly all the shows and events and always keeps their bikes in tip top shape and looking beautiful and is about serving his or her club and his or her community. This past Cinco De Mayo I had the privilege and honor of being invited by Mr. Richard Tilley Owner and Editor of CC Biker as a guest interviewer and writer to the Pancho Villa Riders M.C Cinco De Mayo celebration and announcement of their new president at their clubhouse which they acquired in 2007 in Fresno, California. Upon talking to numerous past presidents and their new president and numerous members I have learned it’s not all about riding motorcycles as a group it is about being there for your fellow brothers and sisters on two wheels serving the club and the community whether it be barbeques that are open to the public or raising money for children and after school programs or doing trick or treat events on Halloween or my favorite passing toys

out to kids on Christmas. They also do an M.C kids day event where they set up games and activities for the little ones. Some of their other fund-raising events include raising money for individuals or families with cancer, liver disease, kidney transplants, and covering funeral expenses. They help homeless woman by providing toiletries, make up, and shelter in coordination with the Marjaree Mason Center in Fresno and participate in food distributions in Sanger, Kingsburg, and Reedley. In 2004 The California State Senate honored the club for “Outstanding Service Club of the Year” for their commitment to serving and supporting communities through out the San Joaquin Valley. A lot of their members and past presidents joined their M.C because they felt welcomed and felt the respect from fellow riders and they felt the unity amongst the M.C. as I did and I’m not even a member. I was an outsider in their terms but they made me feel welcomed, accepted and respected. The Pancho Villa Riders Motorcycle Club started February 9th of 2005 by Ed Leal as a family Club and has only grown in numbers since founded and have had five other clubs form from them and they are La Raza, Syndicate Sinner, Descendants, Zapatistas, and Los Aventados.

Living History A Piece of

By Kelli Morgan Langley One hundred and fifty years ago, there were no cars, motorcycles, trains, busses or any other motorized transportation. If you weren’t willing to climb on a horse to travel, your options were limited. When people needed to get from place to place, a stagecoach was one of the only means of transportation available. The stage ran through California, with several “pit stops” along the way. One of the few stage stops to survive is right on our Central Coast: Cold Spring Tavern. Cold Spring Tavern was established as a stagecoach stop in 1865. Originally known as the “Cold Spring Relay Station”, it was a place to change horses and allow travelers to rest and enjoy a meal. … Located 20 minutes north of Santa Barbara, California in Cold Spring Canyon, you’ll ride over the winding roads of San Marcos Pass, then under the famous Cold Spring Canyon Arch Bridge, currently the highest arch bridge in California, that links Santa Barbara with Santa Ynez, down into

Cold Spring Canyon. Once you’re in the Canyon look for the smoke from the chimney at Cold Spring Tavern and listen for the sound of the cold spring and you’ll know you’re close.

ers with descriptions of what their function was in the past. Events such as weddings and birthday parties are often held in areas of the “town”, adding to the surreal feel of the place.

Stepping out onto the grounds of the Cold Spring Tavern feels like taking a step back in time: in addition to the Tavern itself there are other antique buildings, such as the original Chinese bunkhouse and structures rescued from the ghost town of Gopherville, including the jail and a few houses. The area is frequented by a variety of people, from movie stars to Chinese tourists to school kids. It’s not uncommon to see a Rolls Royce parked next to a bunch of Harleys parked next to a mini-van. The grounds are open and inviting, and many of the buildings have stone mark-

After exploring the grounds you can head back to the front to grab a drink and some lunch at the Tavern, where the venison sausage is homemade, the tables are lit with oil lamps, and the walls feature such decorations as mining equipment, antique posters, and mountain lion rugs. The same bar which once served bandits such as Bad Ben Jones is fully stocked and the beer is ice cold. When it comes to the food, the menu is a little out-of-the-ordinary. On the menu is a burger with real buffalo meat, ribs, pulled-pork and beef dip sandwiches, and a grilled cheese with

onion jelly for vegetarians. They also serve steak, lamb, venison, duck, and rabbit, and even kangaroo on certain occasions. It’s even been rumored that they occasionally have burgers made of bear, but that rumor hasn’t been confirmed. The Tavern is consistently ranked as one of the top 10 restaurants in the Santa Barbara area, and is famous for being the first restaurant to ever serve Hidden Valley Ranch dressing. Saturdays and Sundays are BBQ days, with the grill cranking out tri-tip sandwiches, lots of cold beer, and live bands playing throughout the day. Cold Spring is a great place to spend an afternoon, and a great ride. To get there from the Fresno area, just take Highway 41 south to Highway 46, then head south on US-101 for about 85 miles until you come to the Highway 154 exit to Los Olivos/Lake Cachuma. Turn left onto Highway 154 East/ San Marcos Pass Road and continue on 154 for about 15 miles to Stagecoach Road. Make a right turn and in less than a mile you’ll be there! Happy Riding!!!
