Cupids and Hearts and Flowers, Oh My... Kelli Morgan-Langley WRITER It’s upon us again, that day that single people dread and retailers love…Valentine’s Day. The biggest day in the United States for candy sales, and one of the biggest for greeting cards, the “holiday of love” is one that commercial establishments love. Soon every corner store will be displaying single roses, heart shaped candy boxes, and small tokens that are all meant to say “I love you” to that certain person. Larger stores will have aisles devoted to greeting cards, candy, flowers, stuffed animals and lingerie. Even the more “adult” outlets will be selling special outfits and so-called accessories. You can do all your shopping and then even order a heart-shaped pizza, or have a fancy Valentine’s Dinner at an up-scale steakhouse (or maybe a middle-class chain restaurant).
and the Lutheran Church? History tells us about Saint Valentine of Rome performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry, for ministering to Christians persecuted under the Roman Empire and for being something of a “miracle worker”. Valentine was eventually imprisoned and sentenced to be executed for these acts. There are legends about Saint Valentine restoring sight to the blind daughter of his judge, and he wrote her a letter signed “Your Valentine” as a farewell before his execution. In 496 AD Pope Gelasius established The Feast of Saint Valentine, to be celebrated yearly on February 14 in honor of the Christian martyr, Saint Valentine of Rome, who died on that date in AD 269.

mass-produced Valentine’s Day card surfaced in 1847, when Esther Howland of Worcester, Massachusetts, designed a card of embossed paper lace and presented it to her father, who operated a large stationary store. Annual Frosted Balls Poker Run It was a cold Saturday morning on January 18th, 2020 . When the Underlords MC Fresno hosted this annual event. I was hoping the sun would come out sooner or later, but it never did. I was grateful that I don’t ride that morning. The heater in my mini van was working great and kept me warm for part of this event. I know those that rode were freezing that morning, but they all came out anyways to show Love and Respect to the Underlords MC Fresno.
Belmont in Fresno, Ca. Folks were riding in around 10 am to get the party started. There was about 70 people who showed up for this Run. This was a poker Run, but this year the entry was Free to All to join in the Run. The Underlords MC decided since this is their 17th Year as a MC to make it a free event in Thanks to all who have been supporting them all these years. They went to 5 stops before heading to the Underlords MC Fresno Clubhouse for the final stop to get the party start. They had food, Raffles and lots of good

way up through the ranks. When the Viet Nam conflict broke out, Sergeant First Class Tilley went over as a member of the exclusive Special Forces Green Beret. He put his life in danger virtually every day as a platoon member on combat patrols. He helped lead his men through some of the roughest terrain on Earth, in a country where you couldn’t be sure if the person approaching you was an ally or an enemy. His calm demeanor and extreme courage made it possible for him to lead young men into dangerous situations, knowing they could depend on him to get them out. On February 7, 1967, Tilley’s bravery was at its most apparent. During a routine patrol, he and his platoon were attacked by a much larger group of Viet Cong soldiers. While the platoon leader ordered a retreat, Tilley covered them so they could reach an area where they could set up a defensive perimeter. During the battle the platoon leader was killed, and Tilley took over. He directed his men in battle and called in for air support, all the time firing his weapon and tending to those men who were wounded. As the men prepared to be picked up by helicopter, Sergeant Tilley single-handedly attacked the enemy with a vengeance, firing his weapon and throwing grenades, while his men safely reached the evacuation site. He then returned to the site of battle to ensure the wounded men were carried out and the bodies of those killed recovered before he climbed aboard the helicopter himself.

Bree Keyes WRITER In Calwa Fresno sits a shop, amongst others, in a row. Keyes Mobile has been there for going on 7 years. It is a Diesel repair and Ag repair shop that serves the central valley daily. Not only is there a shop, but we are mobile as well consisting of 3 service trucks. We go anywhere in the central valley we are needed. It doesn’t matter how far we have to go; we are there if you need us. We pride ourselves on making sure we are to the client in a timely manner and do quality work. It is not about how fast we can get the job done, but the best work we can do. We have friendly service and I keep in touch with clients throughout the process to give them peace of mind they will be taken care of. We are not here to dig prices on people, we want our customers to be happy and come back to us. We care about our business and the clients we help in their time of need. Not only do we do company trucks and trailers, but personal diesel and ag equipment as well. It is a family owned business that works

Last but not least, Bree Keyes. I am the dispatch, secretary and more when it comes to the business. We live in Lemoore with our younger 3 children. I have been with the business for the last 4 years and also the owner’s wife. How I met Matt was the best story ever. I worked for a security company that monitored many places in Fresno including the building he was in back in 2013. I was a Patrol Supervisor and had the graveyard shifts. I fell in love with his dogs he had at the shop. I would stop and play with them and of course watch a sexy redhaired mechanic work around the shop. I was hooked the moment I saw him. We became friends instantly. We hung out occasionally, but I never told him how I felt. Four years ago, we came back in contact and well as you know the rest is history. We have a Facebook page you can look at and leave positive feedback. If you are down and need a mechanic, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
