What Christmas Means to Me
When I was growing up, I was brought up in church, know ing Jesus was born in a manger. Due to no one would help them because they were not married. But one person with kindness in his heart gave them a place to sleep and rest in a with the animals, and on that very night Jesus was born, and the three kings didn’t know what they were traveling for, but they were following and guided by the north star to the manger, were our little Jesus lye are little saver from God.
From a young child I was taught that Christmas is Jesus Birthday. It’s not all about presents even though it was a plus as a kid. But it was about your loved ones, being together laughing, eating, sharing story’s, through the day and being thankful for what you have in all of life, health, family, love and so on.
When I got a little older my family took in foster children. We would get a lot of children coming and going when you see the young
suffer you learn at a young age how to help, and to comfort the ones in need. I learned from a young age that it’s better to give than receive. To see a smile on their face then a gift I may like or may not like. I let them pick anything they wanted plus they had other things ready for them as well.
But as I got older and married it became just another day, more hard work, I lost my way of what Christmas really was for. I still went to family gatherings but just wasn’t the same. Tired from cooking, and cleaning, and all the last-minute shopping, and wrapping. Just glad it’s finally over. I think a lot of us feel this all the pressure to get the right things to make someone happy. Food made just right kids crying in the background. Then trying to get dressed as well.
My family was already going through grief from my dad, we got bad news about my grand mother after she got Covid it made her kidney’s fail stage 5. Nothing they could do so they
brought her home in the middle of November right before my birthday her last day she had a good day. Her name is June, she wasn’t just my grandma she was my all. We shared the same zodiac sing, I was the first grand child for 7 years, she was my best friend, my angel on earth and know in heaven.
So during Christmas time we would take her every Christmas, every other weekend to see Christmas lights. But now she was lying in bed knowing she was dying. She was in pain, couldn’t move much, just crying.
I did something I hadn’t done in many years I feel to my knees in tears, in pain for my grandma asking Jesus, please me… her pain I carry with me, I want to make her smile please help me even if it for a little while to take the sadness away. To give her some comfort and joy something Jesus, my lord. I know I cried for hours on that floor asking for an answer, for him to give me a sign, or talk to me. I didn’t know what I was doing but I would do
The 15th Annual Screamin Demons MC Turkey Bowl was recently held on November 19th, 2022, at the SDMC Clubhouse in Sanger, CA. It was a fun and festive fundraising event and toy drive that helps under privileged children in the Sanger area to be able to have a Christmas gift this year.
The gathering was very well attended by many central valley MC’s and various bike groups of all persuasions. The event included a delicious lunch of homemade turkey & dumplings, a live DJ, generous raffle prizes and unique games for the partic ipants to enjoy and engage in. Back again this year was the ever popular Chickensh!t Bingo (a real crowd pleaser) and the infa mous Turkey Bowl. This game involves a frozen turkey in a plas tic bag with handle, a 20’ plastic slip-n-slide, gallons of cooking oil for sliding, and some bowl ing pins at the end of the lane. It requires male and female volun teers to square off in a bracket tournament to determine a winner. The champions of each gender are awarded a beautiful, customized bowling pin trophy with airbrushing and pinstriping handcrafted by talented local artisans.
The event atmosphere here is always very friendly and welcoming to all the bikers who attend. Brothers (and sisters) of all biking “tribes” are very respectful to strangers and friends alike upon greeting one another. Hearty handshakes and back slapping bearhugs are the norm and are genuine introduc tions among the bands of biker brethren. I truly love and appre ciate my extended biking family here in the central valley I get to engage with in events like this and riding out on the road together. Our biking community is strong, faithful, and loyal to one another - I truly call them my brothers and sisters!
anything for my grandmother. The next morning, I got on Facebook, to update family and friends about my grandma, when the first thing that popped up was CC Biker Motorsports Newspaper saying how they were helping a family. , and for some reason I had this strong feeling to write CC Biker and Motorsports news paper, and Richard replied to me. He said they could help In a few days. Richard, Adam Garcia, Dana and a few others came out and put-up Christmas lights inside and outside the house. Some even around her bed. A light so she can see the stars on the ceiling, Christmas tree. She cried she was so happy. She called them her angels. As the days went by, she slept more but when she woke up, she woke up to see the Christmas lights and say “My angels” in a weak voice as she patted me on my hand smiling. She looks around and falls back to sleep. A few days later, Richard and Dana showed up with Christmas Dinner for Our Family and Presents for my grandma.
I know Jesus would help me I just had to look, I’m grateful for everything he does, and every thing CC Biker, Adam Garcia, and Dana and so many others did to make my grandma last days on earth the best she could have. I’m not sure what happens to you when you die, but her favorite bird is a hummingbird, and one was flying at the window all day looking in, as soon as she took
her last breath the hummingbird left and never came back.
As for me I am now doing my part helping with CC Biker Motor Sports Newspaper and regained my faith in Jesus, its true when you need him the most, he has you, you just got to look for the right directions he sends you. He my not talk to you with his voice but he will show you your path if you look hard enough. He is with you always. To me Jesus showed me even though I was lost, and I was crying on that floor by myself I wasn’t alone he was there with me the whole time. Feeling my pain just as much as I was feeling it too. So, I would say with my grandma and with CC Biker I found my What Christmas is about once again for me.
