CC Biker & Motorsports Celebrates Our 8th Anniversary
Richard Tilley Owner/editOrIt’s a little hard to believe that 8 years and a month ago Ben Hill, Mark Pulido and I worked together to get CC Biker and Motorsports Newspaper started. On February 12th, 2016, we went and filled out the paperwork to go get a business license. I couldn’t have done it without these two guys’ help. March 2016 was the start of CC Biker and Motorsports Newspaper published and printed publication.
We started off having 10,000 copies printed and we had about 500 locations. Within a couple of years, we were able to increase those numbers to 15,000 copies and about 800 locations. It sure was a lot of work and a team effort to make this happen. Our coverage area for distribution was from Delano to Modesto. Which might not sound like much to some, but going out every month delivering the paper sure was not an easy task. Eventually we were able to expand over to the Central Coast.
Doing this was a lot of hard work and lots of folks helping us out, we were able to increase the printing to 25,000 copies. It was about 1000 miles a month to get the paper delivered. Delivery needed to be done in a timely manner which actually took about 5 days and lots of time driving.
I made most of the deliveries myself. Over the first few years, I tried to have others help, but when I did, I would get a few calls from our locations asking me where’s the paper. So, I decided then to just continue the deliveries myself to insure all of our locations received their copies each and every month.
At first, we were only covering Biker Events and such and that was hard to come up with enough things to cover to have stories for the paper. A few of our advertisers told me that maybe we should consider covering lots more other motor sports events. Which was such a good ideal, so we started covering Sprint cars racing, Modifed Racing,
Flat Track Racing, Sand Drags and Mudd Boggs.
All of this was new to me, I am not a Biker myself, but once we started the paper and started meeting so many people. I knew we were doing the right thing. I came to find out that Bikers are some awesome people, who have kind hearts and help others in need. That is when I know we must continue no matter how hard it was getting to complete the newspaper each and every month.
In 2020, We were all set to get the year going. We were fully stocked on t-shirts and other CC Biker and Motorsports gear. Then we all were informed about Covid and stupid rules put in place. A lot of folks listened and closed the stores for a while. This really hurt business and runs were not happening, since it was hard to find a place that would allow

Screaming Demons MC Annual Pancake Breakfast/ Blessing of the Bikes Canned Food Drive
Richard Tilley Owner/editOrIt started off a cold morning as I head over to Sanger to attend the Screaming Demons MC Annual Canned food Drive, Pancake Breakfast/Blessing of the bikes. It didn’t take long before it was nice and warm. There were approximately 100 Riders in attendance. It was awesome to see so many folks show up for this Annual Event. Screaming Demons MC are always a good host at their events.
Kickstand up started at 10 am, we went on a short ride and ending up at Set Free Ministry for the Blessing of the Bikes after they served us Pancakes, Potatoes, Eggs and Ham. It was awesome to see a lot of Friends and made a few new ones as well. I always enjoy myself when attending the Screaming Demons MC Events. I even got my picture

Biker Runs to happen at their businesses. The ABC would threaten any bar/taverns that were willing to yank their liquor license if they allowed Runs. With all these closures it was hard to make it through 2020, but we made it through. Things did not get much better in 2021, there were a few runs, but not very many. Alcohol Beverage Control was still going out threatening businesses that were considering allowing runs. They crazy part it was ok for bars to be open for business if they served food. Like by having food available that was going to stop the spread of Covid, which was the reasons given to local bar owners as to why they could not host any events. This was a just a bunch of crap.
Then 2022 coming along and rules were lifted and folks started putting together Biker Runs and such, but everyone was financially strap from the results of folks not working or their business were barely making it. The only businesses that we making any money during all this time was the Big Box stores that give lots of donations to politicians and follow government bullshit
rules like a hungry dog. They makes lots during 2020-2021 while mom-and-pop business barely made it through and several ended up closing down forever.
August of 2022, I was informed by our printer that they were going to increase our pricing for our paper to be printed by 34%. I was like I know most of our advertisers would not be able to afford such a hike in
pricing. I sat at home trying to figure out what we need to do next. So I went to facebook and made a post about the rate hike and asked our readers for their input. Well the overwhelming response was that we should go digital. I was a bit nervous about doing that. Would folks to read our paper if it was not in their hands… Well, after looking at what we could do to stay alive. I did the
math and figured if we go digital I can lower our rates for advertising by little over 50% and still be able to survive. Since we would not have the costs of delivering the paper to over 48 towns throughout the Central Valley of California that we could make that 50% drop in pricing and

mom-and-pop places would still be able to afford to advertise. So that is what we did, and luckily we didn’t lose any of our advertisers. Most of our advertisers have been with us for the last 7-8 years and I was so grateful that they were standing behind us. We are now into 2024, and hoping this will be a better year. Since Runs in 2023 had a lot lower amount of Riders join the Runs. It used to be normal to see 100 Riders at most runs that we had been attending for the last 7 years and the average numbers that I seen in 2023 was only like 50 Riders showing up to the Runs.
I am hoping 2024 will be very different. As we have our 8th Anniversary Run coming up soon on March 9th. We are hoping a lot of the MC’s and Riding groups that we have supported for the last 8 years will join us this year. We used to have an avg of 75-150 Riders when we would host events and I am hoping we can least get
close to that number this year. I want to Thank All of Our Readers and Supporters for having our Back so that we can have the back of all of our Advertisers. Without Readers and Supporters there would be no CC Biker and Motorsports Newspaper.
Again, thank you.

taken with Cliff Basset’s dog Duke. I didn’t take as many photos as I normally would. I got a text from Danelle that she
was having seizures, so I sped up with taking a few pictures and headed back home.
I look forward to attending again next year.
