Raisin City 2nd Annual Car & Motorcycle Show
On April 27th, 2024, Raisin City had their 2nd annual car & Motorcycle show and what a show it was. Dave and Dina Silva were the backbone of it all and truly did an amazing job of organizing and promoting this event, and with that being said we could not have done it with out the help of our amazing Raisin City staff, community members, parents, students and the Board members. I also want to give a big shout out to the local donors that really stepped up to make this event
possible: Ace Hardware, Silva and Son Air Conditioning & Heating, Campos Bros, Pacific Boring, Valley Food Supermarket, Danny’s Donuts and Caruthers Raisin packing. Now, a little from my own perspective, my husband Raul and I think this 2nd annual car show was 10 times better than last year and will be 10 times better next year, we had music from Joshua L. Huerta he spoke with our students of Raisin City, and the kids hung on to every word.
We had our Folklorico dancers out to entertain the crowd. We had amazing food
to choose from. Overall, it was one of the best events that we have ever had here at Raisin City. As a parent and board member, this truly makes my heart happy to see how far our school has come.
Our school campus is not only beautiful but also very welcoming. With that being said, I hope we will continue this tradition here at Raisin City not only for our students but our community as well.

“Run for the Son” Annual Worldwide Evangelism Outreach
Gary Roberts Chapter President of Sword & Shield Riders Clovis, CA Chapter CMAPray. Invest. Work together. Promote. Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) is an international Christian ministry organization devoted to promoting global evangelism to reach the world through Jesus Christ. Our annual “Run for the Son” event is CMA’s investment in worldwide evangelism.
For over the past 36 years “Run for the Son” has played an important role in over 37 million salvations in 194 countries around the globe. On May 4th, 2024, motorcyclists from all over the United States will participate in the 36th “Run for the Son” event. Over the course of 36 years, CMA, through “Run for the Son”, has raised over $99.8 million to fund biker evangelism in the United States and around the world!
All are invited to join CMA chapters, members, and others across the U.S. to come together and participate in the 36th
“Run for the Son” – you don’t have to be a CMA member to participate. 2023 “RFS” total from last year’s efforts came in at $6,129,764.56 in total donations!!!
Per our website cmausa.org it lists the four major ways that CMA’s “RFS” is accomplished:
1. PRAY: Pray for the ministry of CMA, “Run for the Son”, and all those it supports and reaches around the world.
2. INVEST: Get involved personally, click the online “donate now” link to invest in “Run for the Son”.
3. WORK TOGETHER: “RFS” efforts are multiplied when members of local chapters and others work together toward a common goal.
4. PROMOTE: Become a champion for “RFS” using the many tools provided online (“tools tab” at top of bar). Also go on a CMA Mission trip to experience “Run for the Son” firsthand (online info. Tab).
CMA’s World Vision for this outreach’s donations is divided up into four primary
areas as follows:
• 40% is for Home Missions (promoting biker evangelism).
• 20% is for the “Jesus Film Project” (the story of Jesus to the world).
• 20% is for Global Christian Relief (providing bibles for the persecuted)
• 20% is dedicated to Missionary Ventures (providing transportation for pastors to go into all the nations of every terrain type, including motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, boats, snowmobiles, transportation animals, such as camels or donkeys!)
Our local CMA Chapter “Sword & Shield Riders” of Clovis recently held our annual Chapter “Run for the Son”
Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at the Clovis Applebee’s a month ago and raised over $1600 dollars which we donated to this awesome cause! Lots of local CMA and other chapters have their unique ways to raise funds and help in this awesome endeavor. Please consider joining a local CMA Chapter if you are looking for a family-oriented riding group of good-natured people, men and women who follow Jesus Christ and want to help spread the Word of God among the motorcycle riding communities that we meet out on the roads of life. Come ride with us - may the Lord bless you and keep you!!!

Warriors Of Faith Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
Richard Tilley OwnER/EditORIt was a bit cold early on Saturday April 6th, but it started to warm up quickly as I headed to Clovis to join in helping raise funds. I bought our tickets a month or so ago. I was hoping Danelle would be joining me, but that morning she was not feeling so well, so I headed out on my own. The breakfast was held at Applebee’s in Clovis. When I pulled into the parking lot you could see lots of Bikes line up in front of Applebee’s and lots of cars as well. Once inside, I looked around for a open spot
at a table, most of them were full. I saw Maria Gillette and walked over to join her. It sure was nice seeing a friend that I haven’t seen in person for a bit.
The food was good, and they had a lot of raffle prizes for folks to win as they raised funds to continue doing what they do for others in the community. It is always nice to have fellowship with others that you don’t see every day. I enjoyed myself and was glad I went.
Keep doing what you do my friends!
Bike Night
Annie Cross wRitERStarted out a nice evening not cold and not hot, So I headed out to the first Bike Nite at Yosemite Falls Café. This year’s bike night was getting underway for 2024. So I truly didn’t expect to see so many motorcycles but there they were lined up and down the parking lot.
I could hear the band playing across the parking lot, yeah it was gonna be a good night. The place was packed everybody having a good time. I saw an old friend from high school as soon as I arrived, yeah good catching up.
I made me way through the crowd. Everyone was having a good time, many smiles. I made it to the back where I knew my friends were and everybody was there, lots of hugs and catching up !! The band rocked some great rock n roll, FOX 95.7 had a lot of prizes for the dice throw. I didn’t win , nor did I win the grand prize of tickets to ZZ Top in Paso Robles, but hey you can’t win them all. So, I had a beer and since I hardly ever drink, it was time to go home. I sure had a good time, and I will return next month for another Rockin’ Bike Night.
