BENCH WARMER By CEDRIC E. LYONS SCATTERSHOOTING AROUND So many things to talk about, so little space. So, I will do a little scattershooting and try to cover the professionals as much as I can. Rangers: I can’t believe that I’m talking about the Rangers first. I guess I am and the Rangers have inquired about Jays' ace hurler Roy Halladay, according to MLB.com. The Rangers need one more starting pitcher to compete down the stretch, and this is believed to be a top priority for GM Jon Daniels. Toronto is expected to ask for first baseman Justin Smoak and at least two good young starting pitchers to consider letting Halladay go to Texas. Go Rangers... I guess. Here is a quick coaching news for next year. Mike Shanahan will return to coaching, my prediction... The Cowboys. Ex-Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said Friday that he plans to coach again in the NFL, possibly as soon as 2010. "I plan on getting back," said Shanahan. "I'll see if there are any opportunities out there at the end of the year that will work out for the club and myself." The Redskins and Cowboys among others are expected to show serious interest should Shanny make himself available next off-season. Wade Phillips will run the defense. And while i’m on football what’s going on in Vikings land. Tarvaris Jackson wants Vikes to deal him NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that he's "been hearing talk" that Tarvaris Jackson might request a trade if and when the Vikings sign Brett Favre. Jackson, 26, has fairly respectable career stats (20:18 TDs to INTs, 58.4% completions, 10-9 record) but he has no shot of being looked at as a starter for this year. The main issue for Jackson is that he only has experience playing in the West Coast offense. Teams such as St. Louis, Seattle, and perhaps Washington might show interest. Quarterbacks come at a premium, but it's hard to imagine Jackson even attracting a mid-to-late round pick at this stage of the offseason. Speaking of QB’s Favre puts deposit on Minn. condo Brett Favre has reportedly put money down on a Minnesota-area condo, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The deposit was $30,000. It is widely speculated that Minnesota is gearing up to sign Favre right before season tickets go on sale

which is July 20th. If Favre does end up in Minny, their passing game gets upgraded immediately. Oh, i gotta give the entertainment world a shout out: All of theses stories about Michael Jackson, here is the latest. Jackson Planned Directorial Debut Michael Jackson was preparing to make his debut as a moviemaker after signing up to co-direct and finance a drama about foster children just three months before his death, according to a new report. The pop superstar passed away on 25 June (09), days before he was due to return to the stage with a 50-date live spectacular in London. But he was also planning to move into Hollywood as a director, claims producer/filmmaker pal Bryan Michael Stoller. Stoller alleges former child star Jackson had agreed to be his partner in the film company Magic Shadows and they were preparing to co-direct They Cage the Animals at Night, a project they had been working on for the last seven years. Stoller claims the movie, based on a 1985 autobiography by author Jennings Michael Burch, was the brainchild of Jackson, who wanted to highlight the plight of foster kids because he felt he could relate to their circumstances. He says, "Michael told me often he felt like he grew up as an orphan, like a foster kid, because he never was in one home. To him every hotel was like a different foster home. He said he used to sit in the window and see kids playing outside and cry because he couldn't be part of that." But Jackson had no plans to step in front of the camera again, following his acting turn in The Wiz in 1978. Stoller adds, "He was very excited about making movies and wanted his hands on everything, from working on screenplays to producing, to writing the music. However, he never showed any interest in acting." Stoller videotaped a series of meetings between Jackson and Burch and he now hopes to turn the collection of footage into a documentary to shed light on the Thriller singer's life behind the walls of his Neverland Ranch, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

WEEK 15 REVIEW

TEXAS RANGERS

BASEBALL WIRE REPORTS

The honeymoon is over, literally and figuratively. Literally my honeymoon is over and now begins married life, thanks to all for helping out with the Rangers and be patience while I took a week off. Figuratively the Rangers honeymoon of leading the West is over and now that have a bit of a deficit to overcome. After a disappointing way finish to the first part of the season, losing the series to the Mariners and the AL-West lead to the Angels, the Rangers as a team all needed the All-Star break. Monday: Home Run Derby Not Josh Hamilton this year, but Nelson Cruz represented the Texas Rangers as one of the eight competitors in the 2009 Home Run Derby. With Hamilton as his coach and support, Cruz wasted no time making a name for himself in the derby. Still a rather unknown player throughout many baseball circles, he blasted 11 home runs to start the derby off. The 11 long balls would put him into a tie with Milwaukee Brewer slugger Prince Fielder after the first round. In the second round Nellie, only needed five home runs to bring his total to 16 and advance to the finals. In the final round, Cruz was matched against Fielder. Nelson hit first and was able to launch five more balls over the fence, but it would not be enough to outlast Fielder who hit his sixth with nine outs. Tuesday: AL def. NL, 4-3 Once again the American League continued their All Star Game dominance over the National League. The “Junior” League was not lost to the “Senior” League for 13straight years now since the NL's 1996 win at Veterans Stadium. Texas sent Hamilton, Cruz, and Michael Young to the All Star Game this year. Hamilton was voted in by the fans as the JULY 23-30 2009

starting center fielder, Young was voted in as a reserve by the players and coaches. However with the injury to Evan Longoria, Young got the start. Cruz was also a late addition due to the injury to Torii Hunter. Hamilton and Young each went 1-3 at the plate and Hamilton added an RBI on a groundout in the first inning. The only down side was a Hamilton throwing error to Young at third in the second inning that allowed the NL to score. Cruz did not get into the game. Wednesday and Thursday: OFF Friday: L, 5-3 (48-40) In the first game back after four days off, the Rangers dropped the opener to the visiting Minnesota Twins. The Rangers got off on the right foot when Hamilton blasted his seventh home run of the season, a two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning. But starting pitcher Vicente Padilla could not hold the lead, as the Twins scored twice in the next half inning and then three more times in the third off a Jason Kubel three-run homer. The Rangers added another Hamilton RBI single in the fifth, but could not get anything done against the Twins bullpen, which pitched four scoreless innings. Saturday: L, 4-1 (48-41) In a pitcher’s duel Twins starter Scott Baker ousted Ranger starter Scott Feldman. Feldman had another quality start, going six innings and allowing three runs on five hits while striking out five and walking none. However, Baker went eight innings, allowing only one run on six hits and striking out eight. The Ranger offense came primarily from Cruz, going 3-4 with a double and solo home run, his 23rd of the season. Sunday: W, 5-3 (12) (49-41) Ian Kinsler led the Ranger charge to avoid a five-game losing streak, a three-game losing streak to start the second half of the season, and another sweep.

And so it was for Williams, who has since become the poster boy for both the half-full and half-empty outlooks on Dallas' 2009 prospects. The upside: Williams is an athletic, 6-3, 212-pound 27-year-old with a mountain of untapped potential. He's playing in a balanced offense with a Pro Bowl quarterback and a three-headed running game. And he has motivation to shed a reputation as a "pampered" player.

Williams has averaged 49.8 catches and 693 yards per game in his other four years — including a

The quarterback understanding him. Williams had his best season with an established starting quarterback (Jon Kitna) who worked with Williams throughout the offseason. Remember what Martz said about Williams having to understand the offense? Well, conversely, Williams' quarterback, in this case Romo, needs to understand him as well. The fact that Kitna is now Romo's backup should help the quarterback learn.

The downside: Williams hasn't proved much of anything. He had an 80-catch, 1,310-yard season in 2006. But his offensive coordinator was Mike Martz, whose receivers have posted 17 seasons of 77 catches or more over the last 10 years, as well as 14 1,000-yard campaigns.

a lot of things, but that's all very healthy, very good, as long as you have answers for him. And Jason (offensive coordinator Garrett), with his disposition—he's a bright coach with a good feel— it's a perfect match."

That time was the first 12 games of 2007, and it was thanks to a diverse array of skill players headlined by the since-departed Terrell Owens. T.O.'s numbers in that span: 71 catches for 1,249 yards and 14 touchdowns, better than 100 yards and a touchdown per contest. Can Williams be that guy? There are plenty of reasons for doubt, but Williams brings talent, a renewed work ethic and plans to "just be (Romo's) best friend."

"Coming in the middle of the season, like Roy did, the timing's gonna be so different, the anticipation's gonna be different," Martz said. "You need an offseason to work. The quarterback has to get a feel for how fast he comes out of his breaks, how he gets off press and where to put the ball on him. "He's so big, you can just put the ball up, and he'll get it. His 'open' is different than other receiver's 'open,' and the throw doesn't need to be right there." The games will matter. The Lions went 21-48 in Williams' four-plus seasons in Detroit. Last year was his first playing for a team contending to make the playoffs into the season's final weeks.

To find out what else it'll take to get the most out of Williams, Sporting News enlisted the man who did just that — Martz — and asked him to explain why he believes 2009 is the year the enigmatic wideout will put it all together. Understanding the offense. Williams played in three different systems in four-plus seasons in Detroit and was thrown into a fourth offense last October in Dallas, with no offseason to learn it. That matters. "I'm not sure what kind of demands they had on him (last year)," Martz said. "But he's very intelligent, one of those guys who will do what you ask him to, and he really understands the position. "Because Roy's a pretty intellectual guy, it has to make sense to him what you're doing. He questions WWW.411SPORTSNEWS.COM

"Like all good receivers, he wants the ball, and it was like this with Torry (Holt): You always want to get it to him early to get him in the game," Martz said. "(But) we weren't a good team in Detroit, and the biggest thing now is he doesn't have to be the JULY 23-30, 2009

COVER STORY reason why (the Cowboys) win. They've got a lot of good players. "Maybe he catches 100 balls, but if he has 65 or 70 and gets those key catches on third down and in the red zone, that where he'll take off and help football teams. When the team's not good, you just get him the ball; that's what we did. I believe he'll excel in more competitive situations."

"I lifted with Mad Dog in college all four years and continued to get stronger," Williams said. "It showed with my body." Through Longhorns spokesman John Bianco, Madden said Williams went from 190 to 215 pounds during his time at Texas while increasing his max bench press from 205 to 345 and his vertical leap

Talent, period. If Williams is working as hard as he and teammates indicate — after reports surfaced that he wasn't exactly a weight-room regular in Detroit — Martz believes his talent will take over. "For a big receiver, he can drop his hips and get in out of breaks extremely well—almost like a smaller receiver," Martz said. "And the second thing, when the ball's in the air, he can be in an awkward position, with the ball away and high, and he has an uncanny ability to get it. I've never seen a guy able to convert those third-and-20 clutch situations. He can make that catch." Roy Williams refuted highly respected NFL scribe Peter King's report that the coachable wide receiver was never on a consistent weight program until this off-season. "That's trying to find something to make something negative out of me once again," said Williams, who has been hit by a barrage of criticism since being traded from Detroit to Dallas. "I started lifting weights in the seventh grade."

from 31.5 to 39.5 inches. "Roy worked extremely hard and made great progress in his strength and conditioning," Madden said. "He got stronger every year, but he made his greatest progress the spring and summer before his senior year, gaining 13 pounds of lean muscle mass during that time. While doing that, he not only maintained his speed but got faster, running a 4.39 40." According to Williams, his current weight program isn't much different than what he did during his four off-seasons in Detroit. Williams said he stopped lifting weights during the season after dealing with various nicks, pulls and strains his first two years in the NFL. "The year I didn't lift during the season, I made it to the Pro Bowl," he said. Williams said he wasn't sure whether he'd continue his weight program once the season starts. However, he pointed out that he was a regular in the Valley Ranch weight room several weeks before most of his teammates began working out at the team facility this winter.

Williams, a 6-3, 220-pound physical specimen, said he took lifting seriously throughout his high school career at Odessa Permian. He added that he continued to work hard in the weight room at Texas under the guidance of Jeff "Mad Dog" Madden, one of the country's most famous strength coaches.

JULY 23-30 2009

Williams, who is trying to slim down to his Pro Bowl weight of 212 pounds, declined to discuss specifics about his weight program. "I don't have to tell people what I do," he said. "It's what I do."

OUT OF THE ASHES EMERGES A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS BY CEDRIC E. LYONS 411 SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

In a world of unknowns and undiscovered territory emerges a man who was faced with both. Homeless before homeless was cool, Glenn Toby was faced with those realities. However, with a s t r o n g GLEN TOBY foundation, a great work ethic, and a great role model in his mother, he rose above the ashes. Similar to Will Smith aka the Fresh Prince, Sweety G was the given street name Glenn went by. Performing with Grand Master Flash, Biz Markie, Dougie Fresh, and Run DMC, Toby's career seemed promising in the rap game. However, with no royalties, for Sweety G this was a dead end road. So he concentrated his efforts on going to school and getting an education. He started his career by getting involved with promotions and marketing with other companies. This landed him on the marketing team of LL Cool J. After finding success in

music, Toby began to turn his attention to professional sports. He merged with Sports Agent, Alonzo Shavers to create Infinite Sports Technology (IST). He says that through the representation of athletes, he is able to positively affect change not only in sports, but also in the Black community. "My platform has always been to my players: you are the star on the field and I'm just going to brand you off the field, give you a voice, and I want to make sure you have plenty to say, "Toby explained. The real game, Toby added, is not played on the courts, turf or grass, but in the board room. "I think as people get the licenses for video games to clothing, to the ability to be able to write your own ticket and underwrite their entrepreneurial dreams and passions, these young men realize the most game is not played on the field, not played on the court, but it is played in the boardroom." Toby uses his influence to take an important message to the Black community, speaking at prisons as well as schools. Glenn Toby is the founder and CEO of Glenn Toby Enterprises (GTE). The NBA Nation Finishes in Dallas, with a bang... cont. from pg. 9 "We will reach teenagers, college students and lots of families and kids; it really does span the demographic, and it is determined by events we go to." The NBA Nation will be part of Taste of Chicago, and will be at New York's South Street Seaport in June. "You will see a good mixture of kids, families, young adults." NBA Nation tour will be the largest. "As we get back out into the marketplace and hit markets for a second and third year, word of mouth continues to spread, especially as we add activities like the Showdown." Sponsors will promote their own products at the Tour events. Kia's skills challenge event, where fans dribble and shoot against the clock, offers a grand prize of the newest young-skewing Kia cars: Soul and the forthcoming Forte. TMobile is offering fans a chance to win a G1 SmartPhone or Nokia Express Music phone. New sponsor Haier is dangling a highdefinition TV as a prize.

Also part of the Tour is a new NBA grassroots program, The Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown, which features slam dunk competitions at the eight NBA Nation cities, and an online component, www.NBA.com/dunk. At the Web site, fans who can't participate in person can upload videos of their own dunks and then vote on their favorites in the competition. All-Star NBA player James will help select the winning dunk from among the online video submissions. Tatum says the Sprite Slam Dunk extends into the amateur realm what had been a televised

centerpiece of the All Star game. "For us, this is a continuation of the success Sprite had with the Sprite Slam Dunk showcasing the best dunkers

on the NBA on national TV during All-Star weekend," he says. "It's one of the more talkedabout events for fans. So this blends it for the first time into a nationwide search for the best amateur dunker." The winner from each city advances and picks up a $1,000 prize along the way. The runner-up wins $500. Four finalists will be featured at the NBA All-Star game next year in Dallas. They will compete during AllStar game activities for a $10,000 grand prize.

Michael Joseph Jackson

SPECIAL 411 SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -Michael Jackson's rose-draped, golden casket was placed in front of the stage at his memorial Tuesday as a choir sang and millions of grieving fans said goodbye to the "King of Pop."

Gordy's appearance was followed by a video montage of Michael Jackson songs.

Several of Jackson's older brothers served as pallbearers, carrying the coffin to the stage as the Andrae Crouch Choir sang the hymn "Soon and Very Soon."

"This is a moment that I wished that I didn't live to see come, but as much as I can say that and mean it, I do know that God is good," Wonder said. "And I do know that as much as we may feel, and do, that we need Michael with us, God must have needed him more."

Jackson's brothers each wore one white glove as they sat on the front row next to their parents and Michael's children. Michael Jackson was known for wearing a white sequined glove in the 1980s. The stage resembled a church sanctuary with a stained-glass backdrop. Singer Mariah Carey was joined by Trey Lorenz singing Jackson's signature "I'll Be there" as a montage of Jackson photographs appeared on arena screens. Queen Latifah, saying she was on stage to represent "millions of fans inspired by Michael," said "Michael was the biggest star on earth." Lionel Richie then performed the song "Jesus is Love." Motown founder Berry Gordy recalled how when he auditioned the Jackson 5 in 1968, 10-year-old Michael was talented beyond his years. "He was driven by his hunger to learn, to constantly top himself, to be the best. He was the consummate student. He studied the greats and became greater. He raised the bar and then broke the bar," Gordy said.

Stevie Wonder took the stage next, sitting at a keyboard.

Wonder then delivered an emotional version of his 1971 song "Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer." Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who spoke along with former Lakers legend Magic Johnson, said Michael Jackson set a world record for the "most charities supported by a pop star." Johnson said he met Jackson when the singer was a season ticket holder for Los Angeles Lakers. "I truly believe that Michael made me a better point guard and basketball player as I watched him be so great and be the greatest entertainer ever," Johnson said. Jennifer Hudson, wearing a white maternity dress, sang "Will You Be There," a song recorded by Jackson in the early 1990s. A recording of an emotional Michael Jackson reading the lyrics to the song were played over the music after Hudson sang. The Rev. Al Sharpton said Jackson brought "blacks and whites and Asians

and Latinos together." "It was Michael Jackson who made us sing 'We are the World' and feed the hungry long before Live Aid," Sharpton said. "Every time he got knocked down, he got back up," the reverend said. "Every time you counted him out he came back in. Michael never stopped, Michael never stopped." Sharpton got the loudest applause when he said he wanted Jackson's three children -- who were in the audience -to know that there "wasn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what he had to deal with, but he dealt with it." Singer John Mayer took center stage at one point, but not to sing. He played lead guitar on the song "Human Nature," which was on Jackson's "Thriller " album. Actress Brooke Shields, who was 13 when she became close friends with Jackson, said they bonded "because we both understood what it was like to be in the spotlight from a very, very young age." "Both of us needed to be adults very early, but when we were together we were two little kids having fun," Shields said. "What we did do was laugh," she recounted. "It was always a competition to see who could make the other one laugh more or be sillier." She said Jackson "loved to laugh" and that his "laugh was the sweetest and purest of anyone's I had ever known." The service turned to tears, though, as Jackson's brother Jermaine sang "Smile," a favorite song of Michael's. After struggling not to cry through the song, Jermaine was hugged by his surviving brothers as he left the stage.

HE SAY/ SHE SAY DATING SEX VS MARRIED SEX... IS THERE A DIFFERENCE He said Let me start by saying YES. Most women have sex to keep you but when you get married the sex stops, whose with me. He said I'm With You On That Ced, Good Topic Dude. I Don't Know If It Fully Stops, But It Might As Well Because The Energy Level Goes Way Down. She Said It is too late for this type of speak. You should be preparing for the work day tomorrow LOL She Said This could go both ways. Men will wine and dine a woman when they're dating but once they get the woman, they stop altogether. Then they wonder why the don't have sex as often. We women are emotional. We want the same romance we had when you were "chasing us". Also, not to be holier than thou, but as a Christian, I feel the difference between ... Read Moredating sex and married sex is that you shouldn't be having sex when you're dating anyway and when you're married, you are free to do it as often and in whatever ways you like without feeling guilty about sinning against God. She Said So true Shellye. He Said How many women are true about their intentions? She Said Many women have sex to catch the man because they listen to all the untruths he tells them and they fall for the "before marriage romance." They think he will be unfaithful and sleep with someone else if they don't give it to him. A lot of times, he still sleeps with someone else PAGE

16

and continue on after the "I do's!" Which is one of the major reasons... Read More there are so many failing marriages! The wife reduces the sex after marriage because she has a strong discernment about what "really is" and what "really isn't" within the marriage! The only thing that will keep both the sex and the marriage strong is God and the truth! She Said I agree Shellye! She Said How many men are true about their intentions? What is a man's 1st thoughts when he gets with a woman and how does he go about getting what he wants? He Said First of all women have to look in the mirror at their own selves. stop blaming men for what they allow him to do. Sex should not be used as a tool to get a man nor to keep a man. Your last line talks about God being able to keep sex and marriage strong. Why don't women use that before the marriage? She Said Shellye, wake him up and tell him everyone's waiting on the answer. She Said When the relationship is new both parties put forth their best efforts to please the other. As the relationship develops it an you've becoming more established...both parties become lax. After marriage there is so much OUTSIDE STUFF that begins to step in the way, we forget to DATE each other and it slips away. And for clarification...outside stuff is... work, kids, bills, etc.. She Said Good answer Crystal. He Said But what about sex Crystal

JULY 23-30, 2009

HE SAY/ SHE SAY DATING SEX VS MARRIED SEX... IS THERE A DIFFERENCE She Said GREAT answer Crystal! And where are all the men? She Said Cedric...that is about the sex and the relationship as a whole....see u missed it. He Said Just in case you missed this.....First of all women have to look in the mirror at their own selves. stop blaming men for what they allow him to do. Sex should not be used as a tool to get a man nor to keep a man. Your last line talks about God being able to keep sex and marriage strong. Why don't women use that before the marriage? But why does it stop after marriage when it was frequent before marriage? She Said Many women try to use it before the marriage but most men continuously pressure them. Don't you think it's both the women and the men's fault for having sex prior to marriage? Sex is not one sided. And after marriage, most women have multiple duties around the house to include sex. While the men come home after work and put their feet up. She Said Again Cedric BOTH parties are responsible for how the relationship starts and finish. If there is something lackluster about tbhe sex then the person who feels that way should do something about it. Not complain (it resolves nodda) not cheat (it causes more problems) not clam up (nobodies a mind reader).. He Said Is that really true or is that a myth. I've always operated on the basis of not changing just for a women. As you are married, women should not, no can not use sex to bribe a man. JULY 23-30 2009

She Said That's not using sex to bribe a man. That is called trying to keep him happy. And yes, it is not right. But both parties are in the wrong. He's wrong for asking!!!! If it's bribery, then what is he doing, using sex to manipulate a woman? She Said I don't believe a person can be bribed with sex. What does that say about the person being bribed (weak willed) and the person doing the bribing (manipulator) He Said Crystal, if you have that respect you and will never hurt you physically or mentally, a women takes the cure and decides that she just does not want to have sex anymore. What do we do then? If you are dealing with a husband that will not force you to do anything, and you decide to not to have sex with your husband, what should he do? She Said A woman will withraw from sex for several reasons. They are either outside f a c t o r s (overworked,kids,etc..)or because there is a lack of intimancy. Or sometimes its just internal and has nothing to do with YOU. Sometimes its just not about YOU...although you may be affected. You could be the best man in the world...but its just something we need to deal with internally. BE PATIENT we will come back. But in the interim be supportive it goes a long way She Said This is good stuff here! I would love to continue, but I need my beauty sleep... and so does Ced. LOL! Everyone should read Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus!! It talks about the withdrawing stages for both sexes... PAGE

Networking Spot Light on Milli Millis Who Is Millhouse Entertainment?

M

ildred L. Batts, a.k.a "Milli Mills", launched M i l l h o u s e Entertainment in 1998 in Memphis, TN. The name "Millhouse" originated from a portion of Milli's name, along with the idea that millons could be generated in her house of entertainment to help salvage the needs and appetitie of desperately seeking artists, "Serving The Appetite Of The Hungry Artist". It all began for Milli at the tender age of three, dancing around her living room at home with family and friends. At age seven, Milli's sister noticed the passion and talent Milli had and enterted her in a high school talent show. After receiving enormous recognition from the experience, Milli knew that the entertainment industry was the place for her. From there stemmed several middle school and high school talent competitions. Being a small town girl with big dreams, Milli was influenced by Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Prince in her early years. Wanting to branch out into the business, Milli attended college and majored in a field closely related to entertainment to help solidify her career in the entertainment industry. That field was Speech and Theater with a concentration in Communications. Using her education as a vehicle and networking tool to place her in the environment, Milli received her first break in the industry at a nearby campus

OUT

OF THE

radio station AM 1590 KYDE in Pline Bluff, Arkansas as a student intern. Since her university days, Milli has worked in several markets for various radio stations including KIPR Power 92.3 Jams in Little Rock, AR and Delta Froce II 104.9 (formerly KCLT) in West Helena, AR, where she served as the Program Director for two years. For ten years, Milli was in the spotlight in the Memphis market while working for the following radio stations: WHRK K-97 FM, WLOK Gospel AM 1340, WMC-FM 100, KJMS, Smooth Jams 101.1 FM, KXHT Hot 107.1 FM, WSRR Star 98.1 FM and The River WRVR 104.5 FM. While burning up the airwaves, Milli continued to develop her managerial and operational skills with Millhou$e Productions by managing and promoting Mid-South artists such as Mr. Del, Miscellaneous, L.E.N. , Men-E-Faces, Don Frison and Are'le. The development of Milli's managerial skills blossomed when she joined a hip-hop dance troop in 1993 called Suave'ious. At the time, Mildred was an air talent for WHRK K-97 FM, with the stage name of "Milli Mills", and had inside access to upcoming concerts as well as concert promoters. This access, long with Mildred's charismatic personality, led Mildred to becoming the booking agent and publicist for the group Suave'ious. After seeing that she

had a knack for promoting, managing and grooming, Mildred went to start her own entertainment company, Millhouse Entertainment. Milli Mills served as an extra in the 1993 Tom Cruise blockbuster movie, "The Firm", and was chosen in 1998 by Ebony Magazine as one of the "Top 25 Most Sucessful Black Female Singles" in America, voiced many local and regional radio and TV commerical spots, in addition to appearing in several local and regional TV commericials. Two years later, Milli was invited by Memphis' Virgin/Rap-A-Lot Records Hip-Hop Artist, Tela, to appear on his 2000 album "The World Ain't Enough" doing character dialogue bits and chorus hooks to add to her repertoire. While broadening her horizons in the entertainment industry, Milli relocated to the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex in January 2002. Since then, Milli has formed an alliance with other producers and entertainment icons in the DFW Metroplex; thus expanding her busines and achieving a higher level of success. Her skillset was further enhanced by obtaining a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in 2004. For years, ABC Radio Networks has experienced Milli's talents first-hand as she currently serves as a clearance representative and weekend air personality for The Touch: Today's R&B and Old School. In addition to Milli Mills many talents, she is also a voice-over artist, choreographer and upcoming actress. As a new member of the American Federation for Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), we hope to see Ms. Mills on the BIG SCREEN soon!

Usher stood near Jackson's casket as he sang "Gone Too Soon," a song from Jackson's "Dangerous" album.

The public memorial ended with a group singing of "We are the World," a song co-written by Jackson and Lionel Richie.

Near the end, Usher took off his sunglasses to reveal tears. The service became silent for a minute as Jackson family members converged on Usher with hugs. Smokey Robinson joked about his reaction when 10-year-old Michael Jackson recorded a song Robinson had written. "I quickly went over to him, because I wanted to see his birth certificate," Robinson said. "I didn't believe that someone that young could have a lot of know. You have to have a lot of know to sing that song." Twelve-year-old Shaheen Jafargholi sang Jackson's "Who's Lovin You." "Shaq is the only one with the athletic skills and personality to carry this unique project," said John Saade and Vicki Dummer, co-heads of Alternative Series, Specials and LateNight, ABC Entertainment Group. "It's Shaq versus the best athletes in the world, competitors who aren't afraid of the challenge or Shaq's humor."

Over the course of the series, O'Neal will challenge Olympian and World Champion Michael Phelps in swimming; Ben Roethlisberger, Super Bowlwinning quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, in football; reigning U.S. Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon Champion Serena Williams in tennis; championship fighter Oscar de la Hoya in boxing; two time NL MVP and St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols in baseball; and Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh and
