Volume 1: Issue 1

In the Name Of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful We have two major problems: 1. Our tribal families are broken and dysfunctional 2. Our Jama’ats (communities) are broken, missing, or dysfunctional. The Solution: 1. We must build and reconnect with our tribal families. It is a process similar to repairing a house. Too often we are only concerned with our household family. 2. We must develop Purpose-driven Jamaats. This entails having clear leadership, clear duties and assignments, practical goals and timelines that will result in tangible (things you can see and touch) products and services. 3. We must practice group economics amongst each other. The goal of this weekly publication is to help establish connections between the Black communities and the Muslim communities here in the United States. Each issue, insha Allah, will be dedicated to expounding on the benefits of working collectively in: tribal families, Jamaats, and group economics. “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together (in Jama’ah) and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you, when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided. And let there arise from you a nation (Jama’ah) inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful. And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment.” Qur’an: Surah 3: 104 – 105 The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “I command you with the same five things Allah has commanded me with. They are: 1. holding to the community 2. hearing 3. obeying 4. emigration 5. and struggle in the way of Allah. Whoever separates from the community (Jama’ah) even a hand span, has removed the noose of al-Islam from around the neck, except if he returns.”
