A Job versus A Business 5 Reasons Why Having a Job is Better Than Having a Business 1. A job is more secure Security is the #1 reason people have jobs. Sorry to be a party-pooper, but most new businesses go under within 2 years. Most people keep their jobs longer than 2 years. 2. Jobs provide a steady income If you are someone who does not have the temperament to handle financial insecurity, then having a job is right for you. 3. Work Less Hours If you have a business, you work ALL the time. You are on call 24 hours a day when you run a business. 4. Fewer Headaches You think it’s bad working for one boss? Imagine that you have 20 bosses. Try 100. Try 1,000. Well, your clients are your bosses and they tell you exactly what to do. 5. You Can’t Lose Your House When You Lose Your Job Let’s see, how do you get money to start that business? Either you take it from your savings or borrow it. So, if your business goes under (most do), you will either lose your savings or default on a big loan. You take a much bigger financial risk when you start a business than having a job.
5 Reasons Why You Should Start Your Own Business 1. Unlimited experience When you work at a job, you tend to get pretty good at the one thing you do. However, when you run a business, you acquire a whole new set of skills. They say a business owner wears many hats. It’s true. 2. Your only limit is your ambition When you own a business, you are only limited by your ambition. If your goal is to become fabulously rich, then you can grow your business to meet that goal. If you want to stay small to maximize your free time, then you can create a business to meet that goal. A job simply does not let you do that. 3. Make more money It is true that the income of a job is steadier. But you can make more money having a business. A business gives you the greatest opportunity to make money. Another thing is that a business rewards your results. If you’re good at your business, you earn more money from your labors. 4. Greater control over your own time This is one of the greatest benefit to having your own business—setting your own schedule. If you have kids, this is especially important. A business gives you the greatest amount of control over your time because you can get things done while other people are working at their jobs. 5. You control your own destiny If you value your freedom, then a business beats a job HANDS DOWN. A business gives you the opportunity to implement your vision. It gives you a chance to leave your mark on the world. It’s not always about money. It’s about freedom and taking control of your own destiny. A business gives you that freedom. A job doesn’t.
Do you prefer a job or do you prefer to own your business?
