Why Outsourcing Your IT Is Important For The Success Of Your Small Business

ne of the biggest expenses, that even large companies face, is having technology fail on them and not having an IT Specialist fixing and preventing the issue from occurring again. As a small business, when considering employing your own IT guy and you have little to no technical background, it can be challenging to identify that the people you are hiring are actually skilled and experienced to perform the tasks your business requires. This can make the recruitment process time consuming, expensive and challenging especially if you are faced with recruiting someone who knows their technical jargon and if you are unsure on how to test their skills, it will become a costly mistake in the long run when you realise the person employed is not adequate. Hiring an on-site IT guy not only limits you to one individual but also

the knowledge that the individual offers. That IT guy might have limited access to the tools and knowledge needed to resolve today’s bizarre issues. Your business will need to provide him with the necessary tools and training to ensure that he is kept up-to-date with continuously evolving environment. Running into issues such as broken computers, lost data, viruses, ransomware, and the lists continues, could have your IT guy, sooner or later, running into a wall or having your business throw money down the drain because the equipment that was supposed to work, no longer fixes the issue. However, outsourcing your IT offers an alternative approach for your business. Utilising an IT company for your IT not only offers you a central point of contact or access to a 24/7 service, but you will also find that for the same price, if not less than what you would pay an

Whether it being their vast IT knowledge, resources or staff members and regardless of the issues that need to be fixed, they would need to use everything at their disposal to get it fixed because that’s what you’re paying them for. They are well equipped and ready to tackle the everyday challenges that the IT environment can throw at them. Keeping your business down-time to a minimum and increasing productivity. The IT company can be considered your lowcost IT department that is always at your service. Thus, giving you the opportunity to focus less on the operations of your own IT department, leaving the training, hiring of an IT guy and IT responsibilities to the external IT company, and allowing you to focus on what is best for the long-term growth and success of your business.

ooking to start a new business? Make sure you’ve got a business plan. Every business needs to have a written business plan before getting started. Here are some tips to help you get started. 1. Do you research. On the business, the industry, the product and the goals. “Research and analyze your product, your market and your objective expertise,” William Pirraglia, a now-retired senior financial and management executive told entrepreneur.com. “Consider spending twice as much time researching, evaluating and thinking as you spend actually writing the business plan.” He adds, “To write the perfect plan, you must know your company, your product, your competition and the market intimately.” 2. Create a company profile. What services is your company offering? Make sure you are clear on the history of the organisation, your target market, your product and your resources. 3. Have a strategic marketing plan in place.

Make sure you know your strategy and plan going forward. How you will boost sales, introducing new products, entering into contracts, raising prices, etc. 4. Make it adaptable. Know your audience and work towards pleasing them. “The potential readers of a business plan are a varied bunch, ranging from bankers and venture capitalists to employees,” states entrepreneur.com. “Although this is a diverse group, it is a finite one. And each type of reader does have certain typical interests. If you know these interests up-front, you can be sure to take them into account when preparing a plan for that particular audience.” 5. Keep it short. No one wants to read a book — they need a summarised version of your goals, plans and achievements. Remember, you want the business plan to actually be read. Plus you need plan to be your tool to grow your business — have space for what’s to come. 6. Don’t be intimidated. No one started off as a business expert. We all learn as we grow.

legends never quit! quote! “At first they will ask why you doing it. L

7. Have a financial plan. Highlight the key aspects of your financial plan, explain expects. Have a chart which shows planned sales, expenses and profitability. 8. Know your competition. Don’t be fooled thinking

you’re the only one offering your product. Everyone has competition. Know who they are and what they offer, and keep your eyes close on their movements and achievements.

Later they’ll ask HOW you did it.”

take note!

When someone says you can’t do it, do it twice and take a picture.

Millennials Will Dominate The Market

2

019 could very well be the year that sees millennials as the most dominant spending generation. A report by Accenture says that millennials spend approximately $600-billion (R9-trillion) every year. By 2020, that number could grow up to $1.4-trillion (R21-trillion). With that data in mind, many businesses are looking forward to tailoring their goods and services to millennials.

New Guidelines Redefine Birth Years for Millennials, Gen-X, and ‘Post-Millennials’ The Silent Generation: Born 1928-1945 (73-90 years old) Baby Boomers: Born 1946-1964 (54-72 years old) Generation X: Born 1965-1980 (38-53 years old)

Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old) Post-Millennials: Born 1997-Present (0-21 years old)

why you should advertise your business 1. It helps to draw customers to a business and keep existing customers. 2. The more people that are aware of your product, the more they will want to patronise it. 3. When you place a great advertisement, consumers want to try the products. 4. Good advertising builds the morale of existing customers to keep using your products. 5. The average attention span of an adult is about six to eight seconds. That’s all the time you have to grab someone’s attention — make your AD striking!
