Classes are offered at all CFCC campuses and at off-campus locations throughout New Hanover and Pender counties, as well as online. Students complete the 22 credits required for a North Carolina high school diploma. Credit may be awarded for courses completed at the student’s original high school. Registration and orientation sessions are held twice a month at the Wilmington campus. Classes operate year round. Required credits: 4 English credits, 4 Math credits, 4 Social Studies credits (including US History 1 and 2), 3 Science credits, 6 electives, 1 Health and PE credit.

We offer a variety of traditional and online courses to help prepare students to take the official GED® Test. These classes are offered morning, 4

afternoon, and evening at all CFCC campuses and also at off campus locations. Test prep is taught in the four subject areas: math, reasoning through language arts, social studies, and science. Eligible students attending classes receive the GED® Ready test for free (a $24 value). Scholarships are also available for eligible students for the official GED® Test ($20-$80 depending on the award). Registration and orientation sessions are held twice a month at the Wilmington campus.

This course is designed to provide employability skills training and career exploration for the role of 911 Telecommunicator within the Emergency management and 911 Communication Department in New Hanover County Government. DEFENSIVE DRIVING - EIGHT HOUR COURSE

This course is used extensively for court referrals, as a diversion program for drivers with excessive violations, and to retrain drivers with poor driving records. Production Technician Training NEW PROGRAM!

Production Technicians perform equipment setup, operation, equipment adjustments and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality and efficiency. They run tests on all assemblies and equipment to test for safety and productivity before they are put into production. In this 120 hour program, students will focus on Industrial Safety, Manufacturing and quality processes, and maintenance processes. Additional certifications will be earned for OSHA 10, Hazwoper 8 hour, CPR/AED/First Aid, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Additional training in Industrial Math, Safety, blueprint reading, and interviewing/resume skills will be provided to prepare candidates for an entry-level job with local area manufacturers who are expanding their workforce. Adults on the Move Boot Camp

Want to learn how to increase your daily movement through exercises, set goals, make healthier food choices, and gain confidence through regular physical activity? Join CFCC fitness instructor, Sandi Keith for a boot camp for beginners in a supportive group atmosphere. Each class will include stretching, skill and strength development through a variety of exercises, and class discussion about nutrition and goal-setting. Spanish for Beginners

Notary Public

Take your photography to the next level. Continue to explore settings, shutter speed, ISO, F-STOP, and the different ways to use bracketing in your photographs. Neutral density filters will be used during hands-on photo shoots incorporating good photo composition and low-light nightscapes photography. Remote shutter is needed for this class. Bring DSLR camera to class and include the interchangeable lenses, owner’s manual, memory cards and other accessories. (No Point & Shoot Cameras)

This course provides instruction to individuals who want to become commissioned as a Notary Public. Topics include legal, ethical, and procedural requirements of the Notary Act. Upon completion of this course with a passing exam grade of 80%, a person is eligible to make application with the NC Secretary of State office.
