Welding

Welding - MIG – 126 hrs • Students learn the skills necessary to cut and join mild steel parts using Oxy-fuel and Plasma cutting processes, GMAW and FCAW welding processes. Students complete fillet and groove welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions using proper joint preparation. Proper set-up and maintenance of welding and cutting equipment. General shop safety. • OSHA 10 certificate obtained. • Course equivalent to CU course WLD 121 in Welding Diploma Technology Program. Welding - Stick – 126 hrs • Students learn the skills necessary to cut and join mild steel parts using the Oxy-fuel cutting and SMAW (Stick welding) processes. This includes flat (1F, 1G), horizontal (2F,2G), vertical (3F, 3G), and overhead (4F, 4G) positions and the proper methods, joint preparation, machine set-up/maintenance and electrode selection. • OSHA 10 certificate obtained. Welding - TIG – 126 hrs • Students learn the skills necessary to cut and join mild and stainless steel parts using Oxy-fuel and Plasma cutting processes, and GTAW welding process. Students complete fillet and groove welds in Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead positions using proper joint preparation, electrode, and filler metal selection. Proper set-up and maintenance of welding and cutting equipment. General shop safety. • OSHA 10 certificate obtained. • Course equivalent to CU course WLD 131 in Welding Diploma Technology. Upon completion of the three welding courses students may sit for the American Welding Society (AWS) exam.

HVAC-R Electricity – 96 hrs • Students learn electricity applied to HVAC-R equipment including good wiring practices and the ability to read simple wiring diagrams. • OSHA 10 certification - $8. Heating/Heat Pump Technology – 96 hrs • Students learn the fundamentals of gas and electric heating system. Safety, efficiency testing, electrical power, and control systems, modes of operation, defrost systems, refrigerant charging, and system performance will be the focus for routine service procedures. • J-2 Gas Piping certification obtained, exam - $25.

Learn the basics of drawing, vector creation, image manipulation and page layout for posters, menus, and business cards. • Pre or co-requisite: Foundations of Design. Photoshop for Graphic Design – 48 hrs | $135 • Provides a solid foundation in the basics of Adobe Photoshop including techniques like layer masks, clipping masks, removing backgrounds, creating custom shapes and a variety of effects.
