C O MM UN I TY I N V E S TM E N T F UND GR ANT S The Community Investment Funds are the signature grant cycle managed by the Community Foundation in which funds are invested in organizations serving the Northern Virginia community in the areas of child and youth development, education, health, mental health, aging, military personnel and their families, and poverty relief. Grants of more than $408,842 were issued to 41 local organizations and nonprofits in 2019. Child and Youth Development Fund Helps children and youth to thrive Arlington Arts Center**, $6,500 Serving Arlington County Funding supported two programs serving at-risk youth: an after-school art enrichment program at Carlin Springs Elementary, a Title 1 school, and a program for preschoolers, offered in conjunction with Bridges to Independence, a local non-profit serving homeless families.
Bowen McCauley Dance Center**, $10,000 Serving Arlington County Funding supported school dance programs serving diverse, low-income students in Northern Virginia and an annual MOVE ME Festival.
Communities in Schools of NOVA, $10,000 Serving Alexandria Funding supported academic improvement, family engagement, and career college readiness supports.
