Fig 1. Historic map taken from digimaps of the site during 1890s. The map shows that the site was aurrounded by industrial warehouses. Salford in has a history of industry, mainly in textiles, of which pre dates the industrial revolution. The railway viaduct, built 1865, connects Salford Central staion, located on New Bailey street, to Manchester Victoria station. Figure 3 presents a contemporary map of the site and surrounding area. the blue triangles represent the listed buildings. The map shows that several listed buildings surround the proximity of the site. The closest listing to the site is the Grade II listed viaduct, this is shown to the left of the red line boundary of fig.3, by three blue triangles. In addition, this map too shows that the three bridges near to the site location are too listed.
