Dates for your Diary Easter Open Day 8th April 10:30am—4pm Explore the house and grounds. Hampshire Regency Dancers, Shire horse demonstrations & children’s craft and gardening activities. Refreshments & Light lunches available

Come and explore the house, grounds and gardens of Chawton House. Discover the diverse plants and wildlife that can be found on the estate and parklands. Deer, bats and bee orchids are just some of the delights that can be found. The focus of the estate is the English landscape period of the eighteenth century together with Edward Austen Knight's early nineteenth-century additions of walled kitchen garden, shrubberies and parkland.

Bluebell Estate Walk

28th April 2pm Throughout the estate, locally derived native trees and shrubs that were introduced See our bluebells and parts of the estate not to Britain prior to 1840 are being used as normally open to visitors followed by tea & cake much as possible. in the Old Kitchen. (stout footwear required) The promotion of nature conservation and ecology to create a diversity of the land and wildlife habitats is a guiding principle.

National Bat & Moth Night

Sculpture in the Wilderness

15th May

19th July - 31st October 14 carvings by Jon Edgar in the designed landscape of Chawton House

Take part in the UK’s annual national celebration of these wonderful nocturnal creatures. Find out more with a talk and guided walk of the grounds. Assist with the set up and use of equipment (stout footwear required). Refreshments and Soup Supper in the Old Kitchen

Heritage Open Day

This event is part of National Family Week

Adults £3 Children £1.50 Roses in Bloom 20th June 1pm - 5pm Come and experience our beautiful rose garden in full bloom followed by a Cream Tea in the secluded courtyard—quintessentially English!

Heritage Open Day celebrates England’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission. Come and explore the house and grounds for free!
