Fermi’s Successor Scene 3 Time Traveling Designed by Sandra Yuen Leila Peng
Here are 5 period in the time traveling moment. The Destroyed Earth will the first scene for the audience, because when the alien/ audience land on the surface of the Earth already has been destroyed by the human. When the alien/audience starts time traveling, the Ancient forest will be the first part of time traveling. The Stone Age will continue after the Ancient Forest and then the Imperial Age, Modern City and Destroyed Earth. The alien/ audience needs to go back in time in the Ancient Forest to destroyed the humans. 时光旅行一共分为五个阶段。第一个呈现给观众的是毁灭的地球，因为当外星人（也就是观众）着陆到地球时地球已经被人类毁灭了。当外星人开 始时光旅行，第一个到达的场景是原始森林，接下来依次是石器时代，中国古朝代，大都市和毁灭的地球，外星人需要回到原始时期毁灭人类。

Brief Scenes Description Brief scene outline The user starts time traveling and goes millions of years back in time to see the cause of the destroyed earth. Ancient forest is the first time period when the user goes back in time. The next time period is the “Stone Age”, then the “Imperial Age” and as last the “Modern City”. In the “Modern City” is also the place where a bomb goes on and destroyed the earth. Extended Scene outline Details in the ancient forest The scene starts in a foggy ancient forest. The fog slowly fades away and the ancient forest becomes clear, but deep far away in the forest is still misty. The pods are still flying in the sky and they are connected through a laser light. The user lands in the middle of the forest surrounded by big and tall trees while background sounds of birds and monkeys start playing. Two monkeys are coming from the back of the user swinging from tree to tree passing above the user. There is a caveman standing in a close distance in front of the user, because the appearances of the user the caveman stares at the user for a moment. The caveman slowly approaches and touches the user and then runs away. Meanwhile on the right side of the user there is a creek with clear water running over some rocks with water running sound in the background. A golden monkey is drinking water on the right side of the creek. The user activates 4 pods flying up in the sky from the hologram to continue the next time travel. When they are activated, they are spinning in the sky while the scene is changing. This effect and action will be the same for the upcoming next time travel period. The scene changes by objects disappearing and new objects popping around the user. The 4 pods slowly stop spinning around and the environment changes into the Stone Age. Details in the Stone Age The user appears on a flat ground surrounded with grasses and wild plants. In front of the user there is a small village with several huts and camp fire around. Some villagers are inside of their house, because it’s raining with background sound of rains. There is a wild boar tied on a stick grilling in front of a hut. Meanwhile there is still a creek on the right side of the user. Other villagers are gathering berries and some are fishing, washing clothes on the left side of the creek. A deer is also drinking water on the left side of the creek. The user stays for a very short moment just to observe the environment in this time period. Details in the Imperial Age The user enters the Chinese Imperial Age period and appears on a main street of a small town. The street is very crowded with many people walking around. There are several small vendors selling goods on the left side of the user. The vendor on the left side of the street has noticed the user. The vendor stares at the user and throws everything at the user then runs away fear-
fully. Meanwhile other people has also notice the user and everyone runs away as well. The user hasn’t discover any cause that leads to a destroyed earth and continue to the next journey of time travel.
Ancient Forest
Details in the Modern City The user’s next time period is the Modern City. The user lands in Shanghai city, China. The environment is dark, because it’s night. The user appears at the corner of the street surrounded with high buildings and shops. There is a river in front of the user calls Huangpu river. Across the river there is Shanghai Bund with the landmark of Oriental Pearl TV tower and Jinmao Tower. From the river there is a bridge connected on both side of the land. On the right side of the user there is a park and in that park there is a Chinese antique building. Deep in the park there is also a rock forest in a far distance.
This square is 100m by 100m. Point of view is the middle point, which it’s 50m far from the edge of the square. The alien/audience is 2m tall.

Pedestrians hurry to and fro in the street, meanwhile several residents are walking in the park. The appearance of the user causes chaos in the street with chaotic noises as background sound. People are running across each other. Meanwhile, because the user appears in the middle of the road, a speeding car is heading towards the user and brakes immediately in front of the user with a loud car brakes sound effect. Details in Destroyed earth The next second, a nuclear bomb goes on with a boom sound effect and a very hard shock wave swept across the city. Meanwhile, the driver freezes for a moment and runs out of the car fearfully. The whole city is shaking like it’s an earthquake. Far away in front of the user there is a massive mushroom clouds going straight up into the sky. The user is surrounded in an apocalyptic world with flames, smokes and ashes. Fires finally reduces into smokes and ashes, but the sky is still very dark. The user is standing in the middle of the road looking/observing the destroyed environment. Corpses are lying all over the street and buildings are totally ruined. Some survivals are walking around the street trying to find some food. A blue laser light comes out from the pod (chair) of the user going towards to a death body in front of the user. The blue laser light creates a force and lifts up the death body and starts scanning the human body in the meantime. A hologram appears with stats and index of the human body such as blood, DNA etc. The user starts activating the 4 pods to time travel back in the ancient forest.

This is the moodboard for the Ancient forest. The forest has many big high trees. There is fog in the forest to make the mystery feeling. There will be 3 animals in the forest that the alien/audience can see. - golden monkey drinking water from the creek; - birds singing in trees; - a sabertooth deep in the forest. These images in the moodboard also refers the idea of the Ancient forest.

Actions in the Ancient Forest: The alien/audience will appear in the ancient forest page. Furthermore, there is a caveman sitting on the the caveman has noticed him and walks slowly towards alien/audience and then he runs away fearfully. Some trees.

Another action will be the golden monkeys in the forest, there will be 1 monkey drinking water from the creek a couples of meter far from the alien/audience. There will be a monkey jumping from tree to tree above your head, so you can see the monkey swinging above your head.
原始森林中的剧情： 外星人/玩家会出现在原始森林的小溪旁，就像上一页的平面图一样，一个原始人坐在钉上正在钻木取火，当外星人出现，原始人注意到了他并 且缓慢的走向他，原始人盯着他并且尝试着触摸它。突然他惊恐的跑远。 远处森林中一些原始人正拿着长矛和剑齿虎对峙，还有一些在凑数上收集果子。 一只金丝猴在距离外星人几米远处的溪边喝水，还有一些金丝猴在外星人头顶的树上跳来跳去。
Stone Age
This is the moodboard for the Stone Age. There is still a forest with less big trees. There are berries or fruit trees in the forest, so human can gather them. Some deers are walking around and drinking water from the creek.
This square is 100m by 100m. Point of view is the middle point, which it’s 50m far from the edge of the square. The alien/audience is 2m tall. Small village will be in between 50 to -80 degrees. The distance is 8-10m far from the alien/ audience. House: 4m height, 3-4m width.

Actions in the Stone Age: The alien/ audience will appear on a flat ground, there is a small huts village in front of you. You can see some villagers are inside of their house. There is a wild boar tied on a stick prepared to be grilled (there is a fire to grill). Some villagers are gathering berries and some are fishing in the creek. There is deer drinking water from the creek.
Imperial Age This square is 100m by 100m. Point of view is the middle point, which it’s 50m far from the edge of the square. The alien/audience is 2m tall. The small town has a gate of 12m width and 18m height.
石器时代的剧情: 外星人/玩家将会出现在一个平坦的地面上，在你的面前有一个小木屋部落，你可以看到一些人在他们的房子里，有一个野猪被穿在烤架上等着被 烤（烤架下有火升起），一些人在收集果子，一些人在溪边钓鱼，一只鹿在溪边喝水。

This is the moodboard for the Imperial Age. In this time period humans already have developed their skills to build houses and buildings. Below you can see the reference pictures how the Imperial Age needs to be build. There will be a town in the Imperial Age where the alien/audience will appear. The streets are very small like the picture in the moodboard. Furthermore, there are some boats sailing in the river. 这是中国古代的moodboard，在这个时期人类已经可以建造房屋建筑，外星人/玩家出现的地方是一个小镇，街道比较窄，并且你可以看 到一些船在江上航行。
Actions in the Imperial Age: The alien/audience will appear at the main street in the town. The mainstreet is very crowded and there are several vendors at the street. The alien/audience looks at the left side and there is a vendor staring at him then the vendor throws everything that he could get at the alien/audience and runs away fearfully.
中国古代的剧情: 外星人将会出现在小镇的主街上，街上人来人往，两侧有商贩摆摊，外星人向左看，商贩们惊悚的盯着他，然后开始拿各种东西丢 他，之后落荒而逃。

大都市场景地点选定在上海，夜晚场 景，繁华璀璨灯红酒绿，体现高度发 展的世界，视点（红点）在街道中间， 人群熙然，车流湍急，视野前方为黄埔 江，河对岸为上海外滩，可见标志性建 筑东方明珠塔，金茂大厦等。江上大桥 C（可参考外白渡桥）连接两岸。视点左 侧及后侧即B区域为商业区，外星人所在 位置恰为路口，视点右侧即A区为市内 公园，绿意藏匿在深夜中，路灯点点， 小径交错，人工湖波光粼粼，河畔一座 中式古风建筑灯火灿烂，给这个繁华的 都市添了些许韵味，公园深处石林耸立 （和前几个场景的石林相同），远山连 绵。 We set the city location to be Shanghai, the view is night, modern city,entertainment,bustling into the shade,the alien is in the street, Huangpu river is in front of us, across the river is Shanghai Bund, we can see the landmark such as Oriental Pearl TV Tower and
Jinmao Tower. On the river there has a bridge linking the two sides (which can refer to Wai Baidu bright). Shopping malls district (B) are at the left and posterior side. The alien will appear just at the corner and there is a park at the right side (A). Green is hiding in the night, pale yellow streetlights are peaceful, pathes crisscross, around a sparkling lake. A chinese antique building ablaze with lights, adding some lingering charm to this prosperous cit and deep in the park there is the stone forest is towering (same with the stone forest like in the first scenes), The distant mountains stretch.

Destroyed Earth 剧情： 城市场景包含三个阶段：繁华都市——核弹爆炸——毁灭的城市 （1）繁华都市：路上行人匆匆，车流湍急，公园里三三两两的市民在漫步，外星人突然出现站在街角引起骚乱，人们四处逃散，车辆连环相撞， 一辆迎面而来疾驰的车刹在外星人面前，司机表情惊恐。 （2）核弹爆炸：下一秒核弹如雨而下，巨响振聋发聩，地面震动，巨大蘑菇云腾空而起 能量波席卷而至，世界陷入火海。 （3）毁灭的城市：再一睁眼，烧了许久的大火已近平息，但天空仍然阴沉，我们站在街道上，看着毁灭的世界，尸横遍野，入眼皆是废墟，一些 幸存的人四处游走寻找食物。一束蓝光自座椅发出，前方的一具尸体缓缓升起悬在半空，扫描尸体得到信息流自管束流向外星人/观众，同时全息 影像显示尸体的各项指标，骨骼，DNA，外星人通过全息投影启动时光旅行,巨大的光柱自一直飞在半空的飞船的四个小部分射下，世界被白光笼 罩，再次醒来时观众已回到原始森林。
毁灭后的城市是时光旅行的最后一站，和毁 灭前的整体结构相同，我们依旧站在街道 上，但周边所有建筑已变废墟，草木枯朽， 浓烟四起，地表开裂岩浆滚滚，天空烧成了 橙红色。 备注：destroyed earth 包含两个场景，一个 为时光旅行的最后一站，核爆刚刚结束，仍 有人幸存，另一个为我们着陆地球时的景 象，彼时距离核爆已过许久，人类最终没能 在毁灭的地球上幸存，生物早已灭绝，残留 的建筑也被风化。
Storyline, actions. The city scene include three periods: prosperous city------nuclear bomb expolsion------destroyed city (1)prosperous city: Pedestrians hurried to and fro in the street, several residents are roaming in the park, the alien's appearance cause chaos, people are running in all directions, cars pile up. When the alien appears suddenly in the middle of the street there is a speeding car brakes directly in front of alien/audience. The driver looks very scared. (2)nuclear bomb expolsion: then next second after the car braks infront of the alien/audience, a nuclear bomb goes on. The whole city is shaking and a huge mushroom clouds goes straight up into the sky with loud sound. A very hard shock wave swept across the city, the whole city/world is in flame. (3)destroyed city: nuclear bomb explotions have already finished, fires finally subsided, but the sky is still very dark covered with ashes. The alien/audience is standing in the middle of the street looking at the destroyed world. The corpses lie all over the street and all the buildings are ruin. There are still several survivals walking around trying to find food. A blue light beams emited from the pod(chair) of the alien/audience go towards to a death body in front of the alien/audience. The blue light beam create a force and lift up the death body and it starts scanning the human body while in the meantime, there is a hologram appears with stats and index of the body such as stones, DNA and so on. The alien starts time travel by activating the hologram and a white beam shoots down from the four parts which fly in the air all the time, everything around the play becomes white and when the world reappear, the player has already gone back to the ancient forest.

Pay attention please! destroyed earth inculde two scenes, one is the last station of time travel, at that time , the nuclear bomb explosion just finished, and there still have people survived, the other is the scene when player land on the earth, it’s a long time after the nuclear bomb explosion and human finally couldn’t live on the destroyed earth, creatures have dead out for a long time, the ruins also have been weathered.
这是毁灭后城市的moodboard，上层两张图片为核爆发生时，巨大蘑菇云腾起，将周遭一切尽数摧毁，天空被烧成红色，世界陷入火海 犹如地狱，后边几幅图片为核爆结束后，烧了许久的大火终于平息，但天空仍然阴沉，我们站在街道上，看着荒芜的世界，入眼皆是 废墟。 This is a moodboard for the destroyed city, the two pictures on the top layer is at the time when nuclear bombs exploding, enormous mushroom cloud breaking things, straight into the sky, destroyed everything. The whole sky was lit up orange, the whole world is in flame, which seems like inferno, for the pictures on the background , nuclear bombs exploding has aready finished, fire finally subsided, but sky still very dark. we stand in the street, look the world, there is nobody now, all the things in sight are ruins.
