splendid new megayacht with a modern, contemporary look featuring elegant forms and dynamic styling. Unique and sensational, she’s stunning in appearance. A marvelous feat of technology, and a pleasure to admire with her impressive, harmonious styling, she flaunts her pure beauty with rare, sculptural virtuosity. Oceanco is committed to constantly breaking new boundaries in technology and aesthetics as it builds its yachts, while respecting and enhancing the personal vision of its clients. Indeed, the yard recently inaugurated its new creative concept. This spirit takes concrete form in the new Y700-coded yachts, the latest generation of luxury megayachts by Oceanco – of which the first three masterpieces have so far seen the light of day. Completed last year, Anastasia was the third Y700-coded yacht to take to the water, following Amevi and Alfa Nero. Coded Y701, Amevi is an innovative 80m (263ft) yacht with exterior design by Nuvolari & Lenard and interior decoration by Alberto Pinto. She was launched in January 2007 and delivered in March 2007. Coded Y702, Alfa Nero is a spectacular 82m (269ft) yacht, again with exterior design by Nuvolari & Lenard and interior decoration by Alberto Pinto. She was launched in May 2007 and delivered in July the same year. An extensive article on this yacht was published last year in issue number 7 of Yacht Première. ➢
This brings us to Anastasia: coded Y703, she is a dynamic 75.5m (247ft) vessel, with both exterior design and interior decoration by Sam Sorgiovanni Designs. She was launched in April 2008 and delivered in June 2008, and it is this yacht we’ll be focusing on in this issue number 12 of Yacht Première. To be precise, Anastasia first saw the light of day in the early morning of 23rd April 2008, when the doors of a vast hangar slid open. Before then she had been kept in a construction hall inside Oceanco’s vast facilities in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands. In order to mark the occasion, a memorable launch ceremony was organised for the day after, with more than six hundred excited guests in attendance. The event was witnessed by all those who had contributed to the Y703 project, giving them the enviable opportunity of admiring Anastasia from close up. During the celebrations, the Managing Director remarked on the incredible work that had been so skillfully carried out, and personally thanked all those who had taken part in creating Anastasia – needless to say, another exceptional vessel, in the tradition for which Oceanco is internationally renowned. Another vessel that fully satisfies the requirements of demanding owners, with high technical and aesthetic standards. This is undoubtedly why the yacht Owner’s representative also took the opportunity to warmly thank the team, whose efforts had led to such excellent results with Anastasia. In early June, these thanks were of course extended to Anastasia’s crew, with a small private farewell party organised by Oceanco. Everyone was there, gathered around the new yacht: the Owner’s representatives and the Oceanco team, designer Sam Sorgiovanni and the crew. After a mutual exchange of compliments on the final result, following months of intensive teamwork, the captain particularly praised the crew members for having worked so well on preparing the yacht for sailing. After her launch Anastasia was handed over to the crew, and stayed moored at the shipyard for her final outfitting and commissioning activities; the yacht then raised anchor for full sea trials, before being delivered to the Owner. Flawless planning at the yard made it possible to deliver Anastasia in time for her first summer season, for which an inaugural Mediterranean cruise had been organised. Oceanco’s magnificent creation set off, blending the intense blue of her hull with the deeper blue of the Mediterranean Sea. A primadonna on stage At the end of her warm Mediterranean season, the beautiful Anastasia prepared to debut in the role of primadonna on the glamorous stage of the most prestigious European autumn events. Last September the sensational dynamic elegance of Oceanco’s stylish new yacht won Anastasia an important award from the international press. It was presented during the exclusive World Yacht Trophies, which took place during the 2008 Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show. This was the second consecutive year that Oceanco left Cannes with an award for a new yacht, as the previous year Alfa Nero had been awarded the prize. Following her win at the Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show, Anastasia dropped anchor in the port of the Principality of Monaco, where she was the true star of the Monaco Yacht Show 2008. ➢

Anastasia’s spectacular appearance at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show 2008 was also an excellent chance for Oceanco to present current new yacht builds such as the Oceanco Y705, and to display current new yacht projects such as the Oceanco Y708. Both of these represent the ongoing evolution of the latest generation of yachts from this shipyard: Oceanco Y705 is a wonderful yacht measuring 85.5m (280 ft), with exterior design by Bjorn Johansson and interior design by Terence Disdale. Her launch is scheduled for late 2009 with delivery at the beginning of 2010. Oceanco Y708 is a phenomenal vessel, with the same dimensions as Y705. Designed by Igor Lobanov, she is expected to be launched at the end of 2011 with a delivery in early 2012 – a comprehensive article on Oceanco’s Y708 was published this year in number 10 of Yacht Première.
The main technical data of Anastasia As one would expect from Oceanco, Anastasia has been perfectly built, from the naval architecture developed by Oceanco’s own team and that of the Dutch firm, Azure Naval Architects. The construction materials chosen were steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure. The new unit complies with Lloyd’s Register, Maltese Cross 100 A1 SSC Yacht (P) Mono G6, LMC UMS standards as well as MCA regulations. Anastasia’s length overall is 75.5m, equivalent to 247.70 feet, with a maximum beam of almost 13.47m (44.19 feet), a draught of less than 4 m, and a displacement of 1680 tons. Anastasia’s engine room contains two sixteen-cylinder Vtype MTU M90-rated 16V 4000-series diesel engines. Each of these has a piston displacement of 65 litres, nearly 4 thousand cubic inches, with maximum output of 3650 hp, or 2720 kW, produced at an engine speed of 2100 rpm. ➢

The engines are combined with ZF W7510 reduction gearboxes and connected to 5-blade Wärtsilä propellers. The engines allow the yacht to reach a top speed of 18 knots and maintain a cruising speed of 14 knots. When cruising at a speed of 14 knots, her range is more than four thousand nautical miles, using fuel tanks with a capacity of around 194 thousand litres (51 thousand USGallons). Her freshwater tanks, meanwhile, can hold 89 thousand litres or 24 thousand USGallons, supplied by a system of HEM watermakers, providing 80 thousand litres of freshwater per day. The greywater tanks contain 9900 litres while the sewage tanks can hold 3200 litres, with a Hamann waste water treatment system. The hull is fitted with a 250 kW Jastram bowthruster and a system of zero-speed Quantum stabilizers in a four- fin arrangement. Anastasia has four power generator sets on board, based on six-cylinder in-line diesel generators by Caterpillar: three main generators, from the Cat C18 series, each providing 360 kW at a speed of 1500 rpm, and an emergency Cat C9 series generator providing 150 kW at 1500 rpm. ➢ # The upper saloon

The exterior styling and the interior design The unique, sensational Anastasia is the latest in the line of extraordinary yachts to join Oceanco’s impressive fleet. Like her predecessors, this megayacht is a technological triumph, and will undoubtedly draw gasps of admiration wherever she goes. With exterior styling and interior design by the Australian firm Sam Sorgiovanni Designs, Anastasia’s forms are elegant and dynamic. She is a splendid megayacht with a modern image and contemporary looks. In his attempt to create a new, distinctive style, the designer has displayed a remarkable sculptural virtuosity, playing with curved lines and with the interaction between the hull and the superstructure and the dialogue between the wraparound glass and the decks. Sorgiovanni intervened specifically where the horizontal set of the decks made it virtually impossible to achieve a harmonious continuity from bow to stern, pursuing his goal to create a visually interesting and attractive profile. This gives Anastasia an unusual exterior look that conceals incredibly spacious interiors, designed full beam for extraordinarily large spaces. Anastasia’s decks offer an exceptional, versatile layout designed for the utmost practicality and total discretion, bearing in mind the needs of the Owner and his guests. The exclusive accommodations can hold up to twelve people in two double VIP suites, three double guest cabins and the split-level Owner’s suite. Passengers’ every need will be taken care of by the crew of twenty plus the captain, accommodated in eleven cabins. Passengers can also make use of the yacht’s own massage room and medical room, and above all the state of the art cinema. Anastasia is decorated in a contemporary style, with Art Deco detailing and clearcut yet sleek shapes: the interior furnishings have been finished in a pleasing contrast of light and dark using original and sophisticated materials such as exotic hardwoods, bamboo and embossed leather. All of the designer’s imagination has gone into making this a truly remarkable environment. ➢
Anastasia’s extraordinary interiors include an Owner’s suite created on two levels, preceded by an unusual private study constructed on two levels. On the lower deck, the yacht boasts a carefully furnished cinema equipped with state of the art technology.

Designed with a wide beam to obtain exceptional interior volumes, this Oceanco yacht has incredibly spacious decks. The accommodations include five wonderful guest cabins and one VIP suite, all completely up to he level of the Owner’s suite and hence fitted with the same refined elegance.
There are also some unexpected elements on board Anastasia: for example, in the main saloon a striking reef aquarium acts as a picturesque screen between the formal living room and the formal dining room; while a spectacular glass sculpture plunges vertically through the main stairwell to dramatic effect, inspired by ocean algae formations. Up on the sundeck, Anastasia has a well-equipped covered gym room in a panoramic central position. Forward is a sunbathing area with a swimming pool surrounded by sun pads; while aft is an additional sunbathing area with sun loungers and chaises longues. This area can be turned into a helipad when needed. Anastasia’s extra equipment is impressive: two 9.5m custom tenders by Vikal, one open sport and one sport coupe; one 6.5m Malibu Ski Boat and one 6.3m Zodiac; four Yamaha FX series waverunners and four jet skis. The yacht’s garage holds plenty of toys and water sports equipment including a full diving store. Next to it, a bathing platform in the stern comprises a section that can be lowered for direct access to the water. Flaviano Perelli Photos by Bugsy Gedlek
