ha odesh Adult Bat Mitzvah
J
oin the newly forming 20142015 adult Bat Mitzvah class. A midrash teaches that Torah is being given at Sinai, all the time, right now. We accept Torah every day by studying it and practicing it. The Adult Bat Mitzvah class is currently enrolling women for its new class. A community of women grows together in study and observance as we grow more comfortable with the synagogue service, more familiar with Judaism, and more skilled in Hebrew reading and chanting. In the first year of the program, the first hour is spent learning or mastering Hebrew reading. The next hour is spent with me and the many talented professionals of the congregation learning about prayer and the Shabbat worship service. In the second year of the program the first hour is spent with the rabbis and is devoted to the holidays and the lifecycle. The second hour is spent with Hazzan Perlman learning the Torah and Haftarah trope. We still have spots open in our upcoming class. To enroll, call or e-mail me to schedule an appointment, 410/4866400 or dwechsler@chizukamuno.org. B’Shalom, Rabbi Debi Wechsler
