Inscribing Our Future The Mitzvah of Torah

For the first time in our 140 year history, Chizuk Amuno Congregation is scribing its own Torah. We began at our Opening Ceremony on February 13 and will conclude at our Closing Ceremony, Sunday, February 12, 2012. Inscribing Our Future will give members of our community the opportunity to hold the quill with the scribe as we complete the writing of our sacred text. Inscribing Our Future is a project for and about our Chizuk Amuno community and future generations. We encourage all individuals and families in our community to take part in this mitzvah, which is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. All of our school families are included as members of our community. There is no cost or dedication required in order to fill in a letter. If you have not yet filled in a letter, we encourage you to sign-up for one of our sessions. The next few dates are Wednesday and Thursday, March 2 and 3, Monday and Tuesday, April 4 and 5, and Wednesday and Thursday, June 1 and 2. For a complete listing of letter-writing dates throughout the coming year, visit www.chizukamuno.org, click on “Giving” and then click on “Write a Torah Letter.” You may also call Alex Weinberg, 410/486-8641, to reserve a time.
