Our very first kitchen. It began as a few key pieces –a chopping block, a dresser and a table – and then it evolved.
We created components that would work together or as standalone pieces, made properly at every angle; we don’t do shortcuts. Not only does this tell you a lot about our standards, but it means you can take your kitchen with you, be it to a new home or a different part of the house if you reconfigure things in the future.
John (one of our founders) has an eye for mathematical cadence so you’ll find every width is purposefully dissimilar. It’s what gives every Neptune kitchen, not just Chichester, a bespoke look. One that achieves balanced irregularity and considered functionality.
Chichester paved the way for what kitchens mean to us. It’s the one John and Emma have in their own home, and have done for eleven years and counting.

There’s so much more than two or three design details to share with you for each of our collections, but below we’ve picked out just a few of our favourites for Chichester. The rest you’ll find out when you see them, in person. We wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise...
A traditional touch that makes us think of oldfashioned libraries. Decorative yes, but practical too: it can be hung onto the end panel of a cabinetry run to tuck it away when you’re not reaching up high.
Chichester features a super-soft velvet-lined drawer insert that cushions cutlery and keeps everything perfectly organised.
Not only do tiered drawers look interesting, but they offer more versatile storage. Think pans in the biggest base drawer and cutlery or tableware at the top.
Pullout cabinets, chopping block and tray slots, tea towel rails – these are all slim space concepts that are excellent at filling gaps or framing key components such as a cooker. Even the smallest design has the potential for high performance.
Inside our Chichester larder are three pullout vegetable trays. Yet another lovely traditional detail.

A small kitchen in a multipurpose space.
Room for the dining table to allow it to be a part of the kitchen. The kitchen must flow with the rest of the room, which also features a dining area, a seating area and large doors which open up into the garden.
We created a run of cabinetry that starts with a curve, actively softening the starting point of the kitchen and easing you into the space. This flow continues round to the cooker hood which eases the break from base cabinets to full height cabinets. We aimed to bring the outside in, painting the cabinets our Cactus green and selecting a work surface with green veining, so it collectively echoes the view of the garden on the other side of the room.

Hardware
A neutral and traditional kitchen of medium size that lets the view of the sweeping Dorset hills speak for itself.
Set in the heart of the Dorset countryside, our customers wanted a kitchen that was practical, traditional and toned down whilst still being beautiful and very well made.
We worked to create a kitchen that was both symmetrical and traditionally higgledypiggledy, embracing the history and age of the building. We wanted to keep the cabinetry in our standard colours of Shell and Shingle, knowing that this would allow the cabinetry to sing, whilst still giving way to the stunning and all-important views that surround it

A large, social kitchen extension.
Practical, beautiful, with an Everhot range cooker in the heart and a grand island for all to sit around. Versatile space needs to be practical for all the family, whilst still being a statement focal point when entertaining. With brass hardware and a brass Quooker boiling tap.
For such a vast space, it was important to design the kitchen around a clear epicentre: the Everhot range cooker. Working outwards from there, and sticking to symmetry to create a grand effect, we created a wide run of base, wall and full height cabinetry, incorporating glazed cabinets, two larders, and separate full height fridge and freezer. The island mirrored the range cooker with the sink directly opposite, keeping the symmetry. Along the back, we adapted wall cabinets to create room to sit at the island without losing storage.
