The modern age is defined by human impact on the environment. One manifestation of this is the artefacts left behind surrounding urban domestic properties. I will be exploring the concept of ‘found objects’ in a visual narrative and the idea of the Anthropocene by limiting my photographic scope to a specific area of focus; the road I live on. Upper Norwich Road is a concentrated microcosm of human influence, with 72 properties and multiple businesses attached to its 160 metre length in the centre of Bournemouth. Many of the objects that I’ve found on the road since moving into my flat last April, appear to be preserved in their corner of the road suggesting their own incomplete narrative. The displaced objects have their own visual archaeology, and as they’re no longer serving their function, they have allowed me to re-present them as Readymades. - May, 2019
