Tie Dye
The Tie-Dye for EliMiNaTe division event was truly a fun and unique experience for me! I went to the event without having any prior knowledge about tiedying, but through this event, I was able to craft a masterpiece (in my opinion) on a T-shirt and save lives at the same time! For those who don’t know, the Eliminate Project aims to “eliminate” Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus, which kills one baby every nine minutes. MNT also affects a significant amount of women and newborns affected by it “suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch.” It is said that $1.80 can save 3 women, and everyone who attended this fundraiser paid $5 per shirt. By the end of the event, we had raised over $200! That means over 300 women were saved from MNT through our efforts! Seeing everyone having fun and dirtying their hands with tie-dye for this great cause was an amazing sight to see. People from all over the division gathered and united to stand up against this terrible disease. It was almost as if we were combating away the MNT with fun and happiness! It was definitely an unforgettable event, and hopefully even more people will join us in fundraising for the Eliminate Project next time! -Brain Woo

Braille Institute 1.
What did we do as volunteers?
We were taken into the Library Circulation Room where me and other Key Clubbers participated in taking out library cards and stickers out of audiobook cases which were unpopular or unused.
2.
Did you think it was a fun experience?
I thought it was fun because we were working together and rushing at the same time. We finished a whole cart full of cases really fast that one of the staff members were impressed with us!
3. Would you volunteer at the Braille Institute again?
The staff that worked there were so nice and helpful! I would definitely volunteer again because I think it’s a great experience to help out the community; especially for those who may be in need of assistance.

Month of July 2015 Officer of the month: Christopher Bach
Congratulations to Christopher Bach, our very own bulletin editor, for being recognized as the Officer of the Month for the month of July! Despite being on summer vacation, Christopher has done an excellent job of demonstrating his dedication to service. This past month, Christopher brought many friends, including nonKey Club members, to the division tie-dye fundraiser event in order to contribute to the Eliminate Project! By doing this, Christopher not only served as an outstanding model for fellow Key Clubbers, but also proved to be an inspiration amongst his peers by creating a pathway to Key Club for them. As our bulletin editor, Christopher works earnestly on our monthly Division 3 South newsletters in order to inform our club of past service events as Region 7 well as upcoming ones. We are glad to have such a hardworking California – Nevada – Hawaii District wolf on our board and we hope that Christopher will continue to accomplish great things as the term continues.
