Toys For Pups

The event was fun because it was so simple but probably helped make a dog in a shelter happy. It’s important to raise awareness and do things for animals in shelters. It was a fun experience and it didn’t cost a dime. Plus we got to recycle our old shirts we’ll never use for a good cause -Matthew Yanez

Walk For Lymphoma September 22 was the day of the Lymphoma Walk and it was now going to be the second event of which I will participate in Key Club. I have to say that IT WAS SO FREAKIN' FUN. I got to meet some awesome people there and I grew closer to those who served in our Key Club. There were so many people who showed up to walk and volunteer and it was nice to know that there are still human beings who care about others. I, along with other key clubbers, got to serve people bagels and hand them water. The people there were really friendly, so it wasn't hard to make some new friends. The memory that had the most impact on me was when I decided to help cheer on the walkers with some members of the Key Club. I don't have a loud voice, so I downloaded an app that had a studio audience cheering recorded in it. I set the volume to the highest and would press the button when the walkers passed by. ( LOL just saw that I wrote "the walkers" like in "The Walking Dead"?). There was an endless line of volunteers and they would smile and wave when they passed by us. It made me feel good. My experience was definitely memorable and it made me want to participate more in Key Club events. Whoever is reading this, you should try events too because the feeling of doing good is bound to make you into a better person. -Jeannine Vargas
