News and Announcements Christ Lutheran Church Eagan

July 23, 2017

Verse of the Week:

Let us ever walk with Jesus, Follow His example pure, Through a world that would deceive us And to sin our spirits lure. Onward in His footsteps treading, Pilgrims here, our home above, Full of faith and hope and love, Let us do the Father’s bidding. Faithful Lord, with me abide; I shall follow where You guide. Let us suffer here with Jesus And with patience bear our cross. Joy will follow all our sadness; Where He is, there is no loss. Though today we sow no laughter, We shall reap celestial joy; All discomforts that annoy Shall give way to mirth hereafter. Jesus, here I share Your woe; Help me there Your joy to know. Let us also live with Jesus. He has risen from the dead That to life we may awaken. Jesus, You are now our head. We are Your own living members; Where You live, there we shall be In Your presence constantly, Living there with You forever. Jesus, let me faithful be, Life eternal grant to me. Cottage Meetings at CLC Summer Cottage Meetings, Sundays at 10:30am  July 23rd  August 13th & 27th As part of the Christ Lutheran Church Reconciliation Effort, the church will be providing Cottage Meetings. These meetings are to focus upon healing broken relationships, both our relationship with God and our relationship with others. These meeting allow members of the church to get to know each other better, talk and listen to each other and, if in a broken relationship, work toward reconciling with each other, and do a little dreaming together as we move toward a preferred future in the church. These meeting are best done in small groups of 10-12 people. For the sake of order and to stimulate open and honest discussions, Pastor Hahn and one or two Elders will be present. These meeting will take place on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month until August 27th at 10:30 am. Please sign up for the date that best works with you. There are sheets on the red bulletin board in the narthex.

Mission: Anyuak Bible Distribution! In August, Omot Ochan will be returning to Kenya to distribute Anyuak Bibles to people in refugee camps. Some of the Anyuak people have been moved from one camp to another, and often they are not able to take all of their possessions with them. Many are requesting Bibles so that they have God’s Word in their own language to sustain them in their struggles and their joys. Please assist Omot with his travel expenses. There will be door offerings after services the next 2 weekends: July 22 & 23, July 29 & 30
