Verse of the Week: 1 John 3:1

Children of the heav’nly Father Safely in His bosom gather; Nestling bird nor star in heaven Such a refuge e’er was given. God His own doth tend and nourish; In His holy courts they flourish. From all evil things He spares them; In His mighty arms He bears them. Neither life nor death shall ever From the Lord His children sever; Unto them His grace He showeth, And their sorrows all He knoweth. Though He giveth or He taketh, God His children ne’er forsaketh; His the loving purpose solely To preserve them pure and holy. Starting this week - Sunday Morning Bible Study "The Joy of Being A Church Member" There is great joy to be found in being a Church Member. But what is a Church Member? Is being a Church Member like being a member of one of the many clubs I already belong to or is it different? Are there membership dues? What am I obligated to do as a Church Member? Let's get together and share, read, and learn some of the answers to the many questions we have. The Bible Study will take place in the Fellowship Hall following a little fellowship time.

The account of "God Gives the Law" is the Sunday School lesson for November 5th. The children will learn that the Law was given through Moses, but grace and mercy came through Jesus Christ. God commands that we love Him, and the Law shows us our sin when we fail to keep His commands. But, though we sin much, daily we have God's forgiveness because of Christ, His Son.

Stewardship Emphasis – Faith Promise Sheets After hearing the messages on The Gift that Keeps on Giving, it’s time to return the Faith Promise sheets that have been mailed to members of the church on November 4th and 5th. Please prayerfully consider how you can help the work of Christ Lutheran Church!

The Board of Human Care is updating their records of Veterans in our congregation. If you are a Veteran or know of a member who is a Veteran, we ask that you make sure the name is on the Veterans list found on the bulletin board located in the hallway leading to the Fellowship Hall. If the name isn't on there, please call the church office by November 1st so it can be added. Thank You!
