In the Kitchen with Edible Orlando: No Waste Cooking
Wednesday, April 12, 6 – 7:30 PM
In honor of this month’s Earth Day, we encourage you and your family to find simple ways to reduce your carbon footprint. With some planning, you can learn to reduce waste in cooking two ways – by using every part of the ingredients and by incorporating creative ways to utilize leftovers. Join Edible Orlando’s Katie Farmand in the Nutrition Theatre to learn how to make (and then sample!) four dishes: Chicken Curry Laksa with Broccoli and Spinach, Caesar style Broccoli Stem Salad with Black Pepper
Breadcrumbs, Torta di Pasta with Carrot-top Pasta, and Fast and Easy Pickled Vegetables. Program fee: $30.
Earth Day Yoga

Did you know many yoga poses are inspired by nature? With Becca Schmidt, a yoga instructor at the Crosby Wellness Center, you’ll explore the foundations of some of yoga’s most popular poses, including Tree, Eagle, Lizard, Crane, Fish and Pigeon. In honor of Earth Day, learn the anatomy and the benefits of these poses while honoring our natural environment.

Raptors like owls, hawks and Bald Eagles play a vital role in our area’s ecosystem. In honor of Earth Day, join Dr. Daisy Fiore from the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey to learn more about these native raptors and discover how to make your spaces more bird friendly.

How many species of falcons are found in Florida? And what makes a falcon, a falcon? Come learn about Florida’s fantastic falcons with Dr. Daisy Fiore from the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey and her special feathered friends!
