International Junior Branch Team 2016-2017 Open positions Welcome dear CISVers, If you are reading this, it means you are interested in knowing more about the open positions on the 20162017 IJB Team. We are very excited about this interest and are sure that you have a lot of energy to bring to Junior Branch. This document details each of the open positions on the 2016-2017 IJB Team: roles, Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge required, working relationships as well as tasks and activities. You will also find documents linked to these positions which we encourage you to read to better understand them. This year, 5 positions are open: • Operational Strategy Specialist • Projects and Workshops Specialist • Chapter Development Representative • Conference & Events Representative • Educational Programmes Representative JB Specialists are appointed for a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 3 years in their position. JB Representatives, as full members of CISV Committees, are appointed for 3 years. The overall responsibilities, working relationships and key competencies of the IJB Team are outlined in the Team’s Terms of Reference. IJB Team Specialists Operational Strategy Specialist ASK:

Works closely with: IJRs, Resources and Infrastructure Representative, Training & Quality Assurance Representative, Regional JB Teams Tasks: • Act as leader for the analysis, improvement and collection of JB Set • Update, release, communicate and collect feedback on the IJB Training Curriculum tailored to JB needs • Lead the production and release of IJB Thinks editions • Organise and promote the sharing of resources and best practices (e.g. through the use of JB Library)

Projects & Workshops ASK:
A
• Willingness to support the delivery of high quality projects and workshops from their idea phase until they actually happen • Willingness to measure and document JB’s projects and workshops impact

• Ability to develop and analyse evaluation forms and relevant metrics • Ability to work closely with multiple people simultaneously (e.g. several project liaisons, Regional JB Teams, workshops content staff, etc.) • Experience in facilitating and/or planning JB projects and workshops • Knowledge of IJB events form and Risk Management practices
Works closely with: Regional JB Teams, Training & Quality Assurance Representative, Conference & Events Representative Tasks: • Develop an IJB Events evaluation mechanism • Develop Risk Management initiatives for IJB events and practices • Develop mechanism to measure and follow-up on participants involvement and the impact of IJB events • Document IJB events costs, participants, content, evaluation, impact • Follow-up on IJB Events form and support Regional JB Teams in workshops content development • Provide resources and support to IJB, Regional and National projects - Document existing working groups - Provide guidance and feedback on working groups ideas - Provide resources and lessons learned to Working Groups - Facilitate promotion of IJB projects

Representatives The JB Representatives sit on the IJB Team and are also full members on one Standing Committee of the Governing Board. Their job is to ensure close cooperation and integration between Junior Branch and the rest of CISV International’s work. They must have JB at the heart of their work. JB Representatives, as Committee members, are jointly responsible to the Chair of that Committee and the IJRs, and they are ultimately responsible to the IJRs. JB Representatives contribute to IJB Team projects based on their area of expertise and interest. The ASK for IJB Team related work is listed in the IJB Team Terms of Reference.
Chapter Development Representative The Chapter Development Committee Terms of Reference outlines the Committee responsibilities, working relationships as well as the competencies required from Committee members. Specific tasks as IJB Team Representative on the Committee:
• Advocate for Junior Branch as a component of healthy chapter development • Support struggling JBs and/or JBs • Develop tools for chapter growth and development that consider and utilise Junior Branch both as a mechanism for growth, and as a component of chapter development • Share successful tools that have helped in the development of Junior Branches • Ensure that a healthy Junior Branch is considered as a priority for overall healthy development of chapters

Conference & Events Representative The Conference & Events Committee Terms of References outlines the Committee responsibilities, working relationships as well as the competencies required from Committee members. Specific tasks as IJB Team Representative on the Committee: • Participate actively in the development and evaluation of International Junior Branch meetings and conferences Conference & Events activities in 2016 -2018 CISV International’s current Strategic Plan outlines the actions each Committees will focus on between 2016 and 2018. Items led by the Conference & Events Committee are identified with a “CE”.
Educational Programmes Representative The Educational Programmes Committee Terms of References outlines the Committee responsibilities, working relationships as well as the competencies required from Committee members. Specific tasks as IJB Team Representative on the Committee:
• Encourage cooperation between IJB and the different CISV Programs • Share and develop joint tools and activities for Junior Branch and programmes • Make sure that there are cooperation and synergies between Junior Branch and Educational Programmes Committee when developing content area material
