IJBC 2016
IJBC 2016 = Conexion and Participacion con Innovacion “Junior Branches are part of a global movement” (Junior Branch Essential #1). This sentence truly grasps its full meaning at IJBC: a group of CISVers, JBers, individuals meeting to make a difference and grow together. Youth groups have a tremendous impact on their societies all around the world and we are part of that. But what better way to fully leverage this than to bring our experiences, skills and motivation together to further develop our organization? To achieve this, IJBC 2016 will be focusing on 3 themes:
Conexión
is key for any group of people or organizational movement. This theme will dive in how we connect with other individuals in Junior Branch, CISV and outside of our organization. We will also investigate with you why and how people remain engaged and the meaning of that for individuals.
Participación is what makes Junior Branch and CISV exciting:
people taking part in active discussions and activities on topics which matter to us. It is what makes us want to truly be “active global citizens”.
Innovación
Where would we be without ? Constant inspiration, diverse ideas and a lot of creativity are some factors that make Junior Branch what it is. It is time to go deeper, understanding the vision of our organization and recognizing our role as youth. Looking at CISV today, how can we increase our impact and contribute to it even further?
Facilitators
This year, the facilitators’ team is composed of 9 committed, motivated and well trained JBers:
Oliver Deane (GB)
Sebastián Jaramillo (COL) Lourenço Vaz Pinto (POR)
Gaspard Simon (FRA) Flora Simon Gurgel (BRA)
Sophie Gepp (GER)
Dow Linnell (CAN)
Anton Ruus (SWE)
Daniel Krajack (USA)
Governing Board Elections
This summer, 3 new members will be elected to the CISV’s Governing Board. And this year, National Junior Representatives are electing one out of those 3 members. This will be done between the 15th and the 22nd of July. During a second election round, National Representatives including the International Junior Representatives will be voting for the two remaining open positions. 4 candidates are running and it is very important that all CISVers get to know the candidates and share their views with their NJRs and National Representative. Information about the candidate can be found here.
Further Reading
To fully leverage the potential of IJBC, we have created a Google Drive folder which will include interesting documents we recommend you read prior to the meeting. They will be regularly updated prior to IJBC so do not hesitate to often take a look.

Junior Branch Review
The Junior Branch Review is now on its second phase. Sessions were run this year at Regional Meetings and Regional Training Forums in order to get further feedback from all CISV members on this topic very close to our interest. A couple of weeks ago, surveys were sent out, both to all JBers and to NJRs specifically. If you haven’t done so, we strongly encourage you to fill in those surveys. At IJBC, sessions will be run using the data gathered in those surveys in order to continue this process which has been outlined in the Mandate of the new Junior Branch Review Team. To keep up with the current findings and work of the Junior Branch Review Team go check out their page on CISV’s website.
