what’s going on around the world? Updates from Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APJB) 04
Europe Middle East & Africa
Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA): EJB has a lot going on at the moment! We've already had some Between-Country Workshops and are planning the Neighbourhood Workshops alongside some selected facilitators. Those will start at the end of January and will happen until the end of February! The Region also resumed a projected started last year: The Buddy System. Two countries are paired up and work together on creating something new which can be shared with everyone else! We're also starting some plans for EJBM planning, and very close to opening Facilitator Applications for it! So if you're interested in what EJB is up to follow us on Facebook (@EJB.CISV) or Instagram (@EJB.CISV) or contact us at ejbteam.ijb.cisv.org

Asia Pacific Hello AJB, Asia-Pacific here! Following the ideas and enthusiasm that we receive from JASPARC, our regional meeting in AsiaPacific, we are currently facilitating APJB Projects! In this initiative, any JBers from the region could be involved in developing any initiatives in the topic of educational content, promotion & recruitment, resources, bonding, and outreach. JB New Zealand and Australia are getting ready for ANZAC (a neighborhood workshop) which is happening next month, and the APJB Team has just started preparing for the next JASPARC which will be held in South Korea next March! We are very excited for the upcoming months! Come and follow our journey at on our Facebook and Instagram (apjb.cisv) 06

CUB THIS IS NEW! The CUB Neighborhood recently had their ďŹ rst "NJR Interchange,â€? where NJRs from Brazil, Canada, and the USA met and delivered a session about neighborhood cooperation during a National Junior Branch Meeting. It was a complete success! The activity was ran in the other two national trainings a few weeks later, and JBers from all 3 countries were very excited to be part of the neighborhood which is great! They also have a new mascot that will be passed from country to country! 08
CUB JB Canada
had their National JB Training Weekend, where they voted for their new JB executive and projects committee, discussed motions and built connections with their adults. They also elected a new Junior NJR, welcome Tahara!
JB USA
also had their NJBM where the interchange happened. They had a great meeting with lots of activities that involved training and educational content. They also elected a new NJR, welcome Nikita!
JB Brazil
just ďŹ nished the long process of working on their National Structure and Events. The meeting where they used to elect NJRs is now two different meetings: AGO and FOCA. FOCA happened in October for the ďŹ rst time ever - it was a great training space, and NJR elections will now take place in April during AGO. They just had their NJBT as well, where they elected a new LIGA. 09
ANDINOS JB Colombia
held their annual National Camp, which was a huge success. 22 participants from both chapters and a developing chapter were present as well as both members of one of their national committees. They are currently working on preparations for NJBM, which will be in January, and will bring in a new NJR. Both local JBs have been active doing activities related to Peace One Day and recent holidays!
JB Ecuador
had their NJBM and elected two
new NJRs, Nicholas (Senior) and Martina (Junior). They have been working with the JBers on many different projects and campaigns. JB Ecuador also completed all of the challenges from the #CISVright4peace campaign to share with others (https://vimeo.com/294196930). At the moment they are planning a Christmas project, and working with CISV Ecuador on recruiting kids for upcoming summer programs.
JB Perú
has been doing a LOT of activities since the last update. They finalized the creation of a new JB chapter in Cajamarca. It took them a whole year, but now there’s a group of active JBers who are involved and even planning their own activities. They finished an ongoing project that was started during Andinos and consisted of explaining what JB is in 5 minutes with the purpose of recruiting new JBers from both of their chapters. You can see the project here: https://vimeo.com/299564201. They had NJBM and elected a new NJR, welcome Mafer! They celebrated peace day in a peculiar way: they created “peace teams” that had one month to complete all of the IJB Challenges for Peace and, at the end of this “Peace Month Celebration,” painted a mural in a school from the community and held CISV activities for kids from that school! They are currently working on a Mosaic with Amnesty International (in both chapters) that will be coming to a close at the end of the year!

Ana Ruth (their liaison) went to Chile for the weekend to deliver a training in different topics like JB international, Educational content activities, LMOs, Mosaic and a Strategic planning. JBArgentina

Also, the NJRs had a meeting with their liaison where they discussed several ideas on how they can collaborate with Chile and be involved as a neighbourhood.

CAM After the CAM workshop in Guatemala, which was a huge success, the neighborhood started focusing on a local development project for the closing of the year. The NAs are preparing for the upcoming NJBMs where new NJRs will be elected into the neighborhood. Meanwhile, a group of active JBers started developing a project designed in the workshop called Clean CAMpaign, which is sure to make a great impact once it’s been revealed! 12
CAM JB Mexico
has been really busy. While discussing a proposal for new bylaws, the NJRs have been planning a training to give in Monterrey in order to develop the new JB there.
JB El Salvador JB Honduras is about to face an important change. Both the senior and the junior position for National Junior Representatives will be elected before the year ends. Meanwhile, Rafa, an outgoing NJR, is focusing on recruitment by having local “bring a friend activities
has been through a tough year, but even though there is not a lot of chapter involvement, the JB has had good participation and even worked together to create the curriculum for the leaders training for upcoming international programs

CAM JB Guatemala
just elected two new NJRs, Laura and Charlie. They had a very successful recruitment activity followed by an activity for Peace Day. Now they’re working on a new proposal for the national JB structure where they want to include a brand new Guatemalan JB Board. They are also developing a mosaic activity which will involve working with members of the deaf community in Guatemala City.
JB Costa Rica
the NJRs have been working closely with the chapter, doing an ambitious project called Paz por la pista, where they visited diferent metropolitan parks and doing peace related activities. They had their ďŹ rst ever overnight National Junior Branch Training, aimed at giving new tools and concepts to upcoming JBers. They are currently working on a mosaic project involving famous LatinAmerican organization: TECHO.

AJB Funds Experience One of the great benefits of being part of this region is that we count with the help of the AJB Team in every sort of way (Planning, Guidance, Funding and much more!). Being able to ask for funding and not worrying about the money makes our job on creating an impact much easier and facilitates our focus on making our JBs better every day. – Mateo NJR Perú
